Hey I was in Tombs once and like half way through the monk said sorry I got to go - and quit. We had a Ranger/Mo who had brought all healing after Barrage/Charm and Comfort animal. He offered to do his best and we made it - he did a damn fine job. I was amazed.

Anyway - worst things I've seen:

General: Squishies that don't move out of AoE spells
Fire Storm used as an offensive spell (now)
Mesmers that backfire - then interupt on the same person
Ele seconds that cast anything over 10 energy and/or that causes exhaustion
Squishies that tank

One that still makes me laugh. Going through Divinity Coast I think (where there is swamp you must cross to get to some bone dragons) this Warrior died in the middle of the swamp. After the fight the monks try to raise and he can take like two steps and dies from poison. After a few questions we find he has several Sup runes - not knowing the HP penalty. He pings and has 30 HP. We end up making him finish the mission naked. Some one did give him a minor rune and he put swapped out the Sup on his boots - but the whole thing was funny.

This has happened quite often in the PUGs I've been in recently. Monks that don't heal, but fight. Since the team's expectations are for a healer or protector, I think they should let the team know when they join, or alternatively, all group leaders should make sure they ask.

Yeah. As I said in my post, I just defeated the dopple with my monk last weekend (April 15th-16th). So as of six days ago, the dopple wasn't using healing breeze.

What gets me when I'm monking is players who are calling out for a rez in the middle of a battle. Sorry, folks, but if the battle is still raging, the last thing I'm going to do is rez you. Priority is keeping the live peeps alive. Remember, when a monk is carrying rebirth especially, using it drains all energy. Not what you want when a battle is still going on. So be patient.

My warrior was out with a group for Hell's Precipice. Group consisted of six warriors and two monks. We succeeded, but at one point everyone but me, one of the monks, and another warrior, were wiped out. Turns out the surviving monk didn't have rez--any rez. No rez signet, no spell, nuthin'. The other warrior had already used his rez sig. Luckily, I had mine (I'm a W/R, not W/Mo) and it was still charged. Oy vey.

Ring of Fire... pug mo/R who insisted on using a short bow and running off to pull/aggro. The few healing spells he had, he didn't even bother to use on anyone else, and couldn't use properly on himself.

Oh, and it was a 2/1 vamp. shortbow /slaphead

Breeze + Empathy worked last night for my girlfriend. Well enough to ascend her Mo/Me at level 18. Breeze is supposed to trigger if he feels degen (as opposed to damage), I know people where he did use breeze (and they didn't use degen), but I haven't figured out why yet.

Edit: To stay on topic. Most common dumb thing I've seen is a stanard fire nuker ele rushing in to battle/aggro when nobody else is near them (including a healer, especially dumb when they don't have any self-healing except aura of restoration) and they clearly can't take the mob on their own.

Have also seen a 55 Mo/W wanting to do Warriors Path with us and then dying immediately from the losaru (no Prot Spirit up). Um, we didn't know you were 55, guess we have no way to rez you...

And of course the standard empathy on our monk in GvG last night (I saw that by inspiring it, and no it wasn't covering anything). o.o

Also the reason why i ask what skills the Mo/E has from now on, is because of that.

My monk has brought meteor shower before on a couple of pre-ascension missions, back within the first couple months of the Prophecies release. The missions were easy enough that I could mess around like that (I was still able to heal just fine). But yeah, Meteor Shower on a monk in Ring of Fire is not a good idea.

I recently brought Counter Blow (!) on my monk in GvG to take advantage of my -5 energy hammer by surprising any warriors that managed to get to our backlines. We were rolling our opponent pretty badly, so I decided to run up and chip in with a couple of knockdowns as they continued to fight back in vain. Yes, the ladder was frozen...I'm not that insane.

As for other people...I've seen far too many boneheaded things go on to really list or get too upset at. Like the rank 9 who joined our HoH group and did nothing but maintain 4 watchful spirits--none on our Ghostly Hero either, and no recast when any were removed. Or the ranger who was so bad at pulling in Sorrow's that my monk had to pull out his emergency long bow and show how it's done. Or eles who run up to pull mobs in FoW (and why are there soooo many who do this?

), particularly when we have a ranger in the party.

And as for that Last of Master image...that looks like he hit Frenzy exactly when Healing Signet ended. He's really good at what he does...definitely worth watching on Observer Mode.

Maybe not the dumbest but i've definitely had the strangest group of my GW time tonight.

Doing THK on my monk, our group consisted of: two monks, three warriors, a necro, a ranger and an ele. The necro and ranger were both /mo and said they were healers. Virtually all of their bars were monk skills.

As if that wasn't enough, the ele was an ele/mes but used a bow. When we asked her about it her reply was 'I'm a ranger'.
I still can't work that one out.

love the post and wish to add:a monk/ranger with no monk skills ,at all, or a rez in fow(we thought he was a healer at start)weilding a short bow..... we had a real ranger, who was understandably upset at this, this fool repeatedly ran into huge groups,after we begged him not to, shot 1 time and died(good thing i was useing well of blood)he became my portable well............but claimed "im not a noob,plz rez me" i was laughing so hard i could hardly play, sad but true.we did get to the forgemaster btw.our other monk was elite.(can i give the charecter name???????just wondering cause it really makes the story.......)

Heh..had to finish Thirsty River today with my N/R...in my first group there was a R/mo Healing, a N/W tanking, and a E/R doing whatever a Ranger does. Wasn't all that surprised when we lost.

And for another time..In Random Arena, me (a Mo/Me), 2 rangers, and a warrior. It took me a while to realize that the one ranger was using vengence to Res me several times..worked for a while.

i was in toa just spending an hour on getting a team i was E/Me Echo Nuker
we had 3 monks 1 warrior 1 necro 1 mesmer and 1 more Nuker E/R (with pet) then we finally got into FoW and then the warrior agroo a group then the ele starts to use skills like Comfort Animal and Scavenger Strike (or what else that skill is called dont remember) then screaming at monk "WTF STUPID MONK HEAL MY PET" then he leaved so the other from party starts to leave
