Spenser, Amazon does not ship PC games to Australia, in fact there aren't many companies who do.
Sheol, I'm looking into things with the company I normally order though, once I have more info I'll let you and all the other Aussies around know

Okay, I am at work and cant get to the GW site (blocked, stupid firewall). Can someone list the stores and what items they each have please?
Also how does it work? When I pre-order the game will the give me all the stuff then or will get it once the games actually releases?

Could some please answer this...
Alright - I looked at the GW website on the section that says "where to buy" talking about factions, and it has the links to the sites where you can pre-order the game..
Heres my question, can you only buy the pre-order package, that comes out today, at those stores? Im not talking about pre-ordering the game, I mean the pre-order package that comes out today - is there only certain stores you can buy this at?

CompUSA, Best Buy, EB games, Future Shop, Amazon, and Gamestop.
All of them have the same boxes this time - giving 2 items (1 assassin, 1 ritualist) not yet shown.
You get the box when you preorder.

i have 12 eb stores within a 100km radius..
2 store owners claim they are official testers alongside NCSoft (i restrained from laughing)
5 had never heard of guild wars, so i went got the prophecies box off the shelf and put it on the counter as i walkedout
3 were unsure of the release
1 was 100% ready to bet money on its release of march 31st.. if i had enough money i would of bet him.. instead i bet him his "tester" account.. either way its win win for me
and
2 said that eb australia will NOT be getting in any pre-order edition, collectors edition or anything for atleast 2 months, but will be stocking the game on a global release date like last year. pitty theese 2 stores are the furtherest away from home :S

I live in China, I don't have a clue how I'm even going to get the pre-order, let alone the offcial Faction release. I've been playing this game for 5 months, around 1200 hours, so I'm confident to say I've been a loyal player of Anet.
I've unlocked everything (skills, runes, upgrades - you name it), earned about 1000k all my GW career and faught for a guild until it was Rank 427 (and still growing), and I dare say I'm pro. My life has become GW.
It's sad enough I can't get the pre-order, and yet I see people complaining about the contents of the pre-order. Was I complaining?

the main thing ppl should really compare is the exclusive ingame items.
which this time, all regions get the same thing anyways.
I guess it's just weird their making you choose to either get it early and get to play in the March.24th event (for those who dont have an existing account)
or
get it later, miss the event(for those w/o account) but get the extra box stuff.
So, ppl w/ existing accounts should just preorder the march.31st boxed if they really want the extra swag...
(sorry to sidetrack for a sec.)
To Poison Ivy: may I ask how you got the first game?

same here after checking canadian online retailers. They dont really have anything about the pre-order package itself...(or even the preordering the game..except amazon)
I guess we just have to wait and wait and wait.......
for ppl checking the instore availability: me thinks that some of the employees havent noticed the unopened mystery boxes kept in the back room or it hasnt been delivered/received at this point in time.
(example: when I went instore to pickup my ch.1 on the day before release(?), I had to wait a long time bcuz they had to check boxes (opened them infront of me no less) and had to scan them into the computer 1st at that moment in order to sell it to me and be scanned again @ the cash register. /just had to share that.lol.)

I'll be making a run to a local retailer at lunch today. I was assuming there would be a $10 pre-order package like last year, but now I'm not so sure. I'll post what I find unless someone else beats me to it. I've got 2 hours until lunch...

We'll have a retailer list for you as soon as it is finalised. You should be aware that the different retail culture in Europe is largely responsible for the delay. This time last year there wasn't even a boxed preorder for Europe, because the retail chains in Europe were not interested in getting involved.
Over the last year we've managed to get a lot of change happening, with European retailers now more willing to get involved in preorder programs (both online and boxed). This is a significant improvement for Europe, but it's still not as easy to accomplish here as it is in the US. You can help this change to continue by making sure to ask your retailer about preorders - the more apparent interest there is, the more likely a retailer is to decide to get involved.
As others have mentioned, there are other factors as well. Localisation into 4 additional languages, for example, takes time.
