Worst cut scenes ever
Sorry, needed to do a Comic Book guy from the Simpsons and come to the 'internet' to register my displeasure at the cut scenes in Factions. They are absolutely appallingly rubbish, like something from a PS2 game 5 years ago, would it have been too much trouble at least to get the toons to open and close their mouths like goldfish, or at least move around slightly in an entertaining way. As it is, whenever I get a new one now I just hit 'skip' and pray the other team members do to save me the pain of going through another badly scripted, badly voice acted lame little computer play.
Thanks for your time.

The cutscenes in factions are the same as those in Prophecies : they aren't specifically scripted because they aren't technically out of the game, like many movie scenes are.
The faction ones are also immensely better than the prophecy ones... please also remember that the game is in many languages, so any form of accuracy with mouth movements would end up causing far more work and organization than there currently is.

I dont think they realy are any Voice actors, the devs themselves did it.
Compare this to cut-scenes in any Rockstar game (like GTA or Max Payne) and then you can truly find the difference.
Edit: And its such a shame because the art and graphics are fantastic!! There was soo much potential

Factions ones are actually better than Prophecies ones.
Not that it was particularily hard to achieve

I really wish they WERE NOT in game so people that wanted to watch a cut scene at a important part, can.

I prefer the Prophecies voice acting and cutscenes compaired to Factions
Factions, the actors voices sound of out of place compaired to the models Tongo or whatever his name is....Yeah they seem almost amateurish even with Prince Ruricks weak accent at times its still better than what i've seen in Factions so far.

The mouths don't move bacause it would be impossible to sync for two dozen different languages. Or so I've ben told.

Q: Why do the mouth of the people in the cut scenes dont open and close?
ANet: Because we have many different languages in GW and we thought it would be much better to use our time to do something else for the game, like adding a new quest.
Anet said something like that in an interview, so thats your answer.

Not quite right.
As a person who is currently working on a game being localised in 4 different languages (it's a kiddy educational game, so don't get excited :P ), all you really need to do is to start the mouth moving when there's speech audio playing, and stop the mouth moving when it stops.
It's not perfect, but it's better than robot mannikins of doom :P
As for in-game cutscenes, check out Devil May Cry 3... all in game, all motion captured
But then again, at least we have cutscenes.... they could have just done what many other games do and have a comic-book sequence of images and a narrator's voice :P
