Which is why, in order to restore some balance issues, they decided to help balance the game by re-introducing these energy weapons into the game instead of removing the ones people already have.

EDIT: Only difference is HoD swords are not max and look stupid, while new swords can be max and can have the sweet skins HoD FTL

I think in a way you answer your own question - people make those comments because for many moons people have been paying insane money for a rather average item - simply based on its rareness. I for one am happy the item won'tbe sold at 300k + prices anymore.

Remember - all of these came from a crafter for like 1,000 gold or something. Had they never been removed no one would have been able to play the get rich quick game.

qft imo.

Next step, create low price caps for sup vigs and absorptions so the average non grind-fan can afford them.

The difference between 41, and 50 health is small. So small I dont care to use ANY sup vigors on ANY of my pve chars - The cost per point of health is very low.

Major Vigors are a better investment.

Not Sup vigor, maybe absortion yes, but SV is far to good to be a low lvl item.

I really don't get why people want a sup abs so bas. I think it's become more like FoW armour: a money spender.

I mean; -75 health for -3 dmg per attack, that doesnt include hexes/conditions etc. 25 attacks to earn it back, but a single healing toch each 20 attacks works just as well. And it raises your resistance to spiking more than a spu abs, sup abs is as far as I'm concerned only good for the 55hp wars/ettin farmers (which has been nerfed?)

If you replace the sup abs with sup vigor you get +125 health which is the same as 41/42 attacks at a sup abs.

Sup Abs has no health penalty.

Sup vigor "far to good"?

Its NINE health more than a major vigor. zOmG PwNz0rs - We cant have n00bs' running round with too 1337z0-r health, WE'lL never kill them!@!@!!!@!@@!@!@!@!@!!!!

And in PvE no less...You dont even need runes....at all...to Pwn most of PvE.

Sup Abs. is atleast good. no health penalty for a decent -3 all the time. Meh.

I guess not. I don't even have a tank and I understand how much -15dmg is worth...

i guess a-net jumped the gun when they release the +energy weapons too early. Question for everyone, is the + energy only for swords or will it be a mod for all the weapons out there?

I always never understood why people got into such a fuss over the HoD sword in the first place.
Its primary for two classes

55 monk/necro builds, since HOD provides enchanting, +5 energy, and if the necro brought it, could have icy for spinal shivers.

And IW Illusionary Weaponry.
The elite mesmer skill.

What better sword than one that makes IW (if i recall, its an enchantment) longer and gives you +5 energy?

People fail to see how good an HoD sword can be.
But I'll comment its not worth the price, good to know it will see it's demise soon.

Axes were being sold with these mods, or so I've heard, and it was possible to create PvP bows with this bonus (I think) so I'd say it's unlockable through all classes and all weapons. Unlockable in the sense that it can be identified. Now what will be interesting to see, is if there are +1, +2, +3, and +4 energy mods (i.e. imperfect 10^50 mods and things like that) or if it will always be +5 energy.

Ok, I admit that I'm a noob when it comes to high end items and stuff (I just started farming SF the other day), but I've read about HoD swords for a while, but never really knew what they were until now (sort of). I'm still a little fuzzy on them. Were they rare drops in Henge of Denravi or from a quest or mission? I'm not necessarily interested in one, but just curious where they come from?

They were swords that could be attained in the Henge of Denravi town which gave you an inherent +5 energy bonus that could be coupled with a 20% enchantment mod to make for a very nice 1-handed weapon to be used with the -50 cesta for 55-monking and 55-necros. People like it a lot, but I have never been able to understand why.

If they are gonna add the +5 energy swords(axes or hammers maybe), why not put back the HoD sword? So people can craft it, I mean if this was for balencing, what makes HoD imbalenced now?

The HOD sword was one thing I was smart enough not to invest in. I knew that if things started to get too outrageous then ANet would nerf them back. By the time I had enough cash to buy them, the price wasn't raising, and now they're nerfed. I feel sorry for those who did invest, but that's the risk. I've lost a good amount of money (ot as much as a HoD sword) from stuff, but if you invest in a lot of things then you'll eventually make it up.

Unfortunately, there aren't really many stable things in the market right now. Deldrimore steel is the only thing i've seen consistant throughout my playing of this game.
