I figure Glint is the Fortune teller in disguise.

As far as i could tell in the 1st chapter Glint actually manipulates the Demon vizir to recruit us [the heroes] to kill of the Mursaat [bad guys yes, but maybe not so bad after all] who were in effect PROTECTING the Fire Island Chain and the Staff of Fire Pwnage from people like us.

HOW?

The Demon Vizir trys to take over the continent ("I am the flameseeker!" blah blah blah) using this really powerfull artifact that will uh...give the user power over some magical fire/dimensional stuff.
We know this. But why THAT particular artifact?
Because Glint pronounced the Flameseeker Prophecys. Basicaly a "guide" on how to take over the world.

WHY?

huh. who gets to deal a possibly crushing blow to the Mursaat, destabilise the entire continent AND keep the staff of pwnage at the end?

Now Glint is a dragon. a OLD dragon. Old dragons tend to have a few tricks up their wings, lacking that then in close proximity of their very very sharp claws.
flying, burning, illusion......pick up a few nifty things during the centuries (millenia?) looking like a old woman? thats CAKE.

Now that would Glint get out of making Shirow Emperor? nothing she couldnt take/have i guess....but KILLING the old Emp? yeah why not. how about transforming all her enemys into stone....not bad either....waiting a couple years and screwing up the Celestial Avatars/Envoys and neeearly starting a war of the Heavens on Earth?[well not Earth but you know what i mean]

CONCLUSION.

Glint Can't see the future. She never could! What she can do though, is SHAPE it.
You see I think Glint absolutely DETESTS these impudent pesky vermin that is the Human race, the problem is that they SPREAD (even into her desert!) Shes seen her parents, brothers, sisters, children...her whole RACE be slowly exterminated by them. Whats more: she saw it comming.
What could she do? one against millions?
So she concived a plan and then went into hiding...in a grain of sand. waiting.
for?
A: Power crazy monkey obtains uber pwnage artifact and kills them all off for her.
B: Other Races take over killing them off for her.
C: Create a war so big that no human would survive.
D: (and this one the killer) Power crazy monkeys obtain uber pwnage artifacts etc USE them on each other and then.....give them to HER.
once she has enough of those things (who cares if she cant use them THEY wont be able to use them against HER!) and the pesky vermin have reverted to barbarism....POW revenge.

so yeah.

Appart from some minor setbacks....its all gone beautifully for her.
I'm guessing its only just begun.

actually, the Gods created the Dragons as caretakers of the world or they're descendants of the so called " flying serpents"
the seers that infuse your armor and give you your 15 att points quest in tyria probably aren't the serpents.
he Draconian caretakers probably are supposed to guide the path of the world, and shape its evolution.

what it's all leading up to, anet only knows, but for sure, it's something wayy bigger than just Glint

Staff of Orr, Spear, Urn ( haven't finished factions, but presume those 2 are the mystical artifacts) probably has the power to do something when combined with the rest of the artifacts from the other chapters- call back the gods?

Or make something bad happen in some other place that the devs havnt even thought up of yet to introduce a new class (just one this time) with a story with no voice acting and a free mouse pad for CE orders=P

Also note:

Glint isn't the only dragon left alive. We know Kuunavang is still around. Plus Glint has little dragonettes in her big-ole nest. I wouldn't be surprised if there were still a few "hold-outs" of the draconic race scattered about elsewhere too.

And who knows just what the Seer is all about. I don't think I've ever seen official lore on that guy. What about his race? Or the Mursaat for that matter... all we know is that they come from somewhere else, and Saul D'Alessio ran across them on his time away from Tyria. I don't think we've heard the last from those races either.

I'd not be too suprised if the K (too long and weird for me to even try to spell correctly) dragon and Glint were mates.

and that an new dragon will be in each chapter to steal the magic thingy of holy power.

Wasn't it mentioned in one of the cutscense that Glint is a he?

In fact, Glint is probably both male and female. That would make it an "it" or a "he".

This story reminds me of KOTOR II. Darth Glint heh

When we take the Eye of Janthir for a walk, why doesn't it judge us and let the Mantle kill us on the spot? After all, we're the exact 'chosen' that the Mantle and Mursaat are looking for, right?

ahaha, that would be pretty characteristic of a dragon wouldn't it? Using humans as pawns, convincing them they are the chosen ones, just so they may deliver her the staff of power AND defeat an evil lich (who was probably convinced he could take over the world by Glint).

But who really disagrees with a dragon? lol
