Default Trying to fit in.

Here's the deal. I'm going to make a Ritualist. I want one real bad. I've made a few, and restarted because they didn't work out how I wanted. I figure that I need to plan it out before I make it.

I'm going to do either a Rt/Me with Restoration/Spawning, or a Rt/Mo with Communing/Restoration/Inspiration. I know how, with most, it is a fashion to make Warriors the maximum height. I don't see many Ritualists around, but I wonder what the fashion is for them. If your character is too tall, when you're infront of an NPC, or shorter character, it looks so stupid. What should I do for height?

I don't like any of the hairs or faces in particular. I figure I'll just leave it at the default, but then, that's the default. I don't really know what to do for that. If only there was a hero to copy. They always look good to me for some reason.

What do you guys think?

I have the build worked out. I'm going to copy that "Earthbinder" premade build. That's a Rt/Me with Communing, Spawning, Inspiration. What would be a wise armor for this build? Also, I noticed there are different armor NPCs. Which one is the best? And I'm still trying to figure out what my character should look like, and how tall.

Go through the pvp creation screen and play around a bit.

I figure that for armor, judging from the PvP sets, Shaman would be perfect, except if there's another Ritualist in my party, and they spawn things, it undoes my spawns. And Oracle is out of the question, because I won't be using those item things. Mystic would be good if I was constantly using skills, which I probably would be, but then there's also Harbinger, which adds 15 HP period. Halcon adds more energy, but I figure +5 from Harbinger or something would be fair enough. Emissary is out of the question, because I won't be using the qeapon skills. So, we have Harbinger, Halcyon, or Mystic. Which one would be best for my build?

That's what I've been doing, but I don't know how tall most people make their Ritualists, and I don't want to be bigger or smaller than everyone else in a group. You know what I mean? I need to know if most people shrink, grow, or leave their Ritualists at default. I find that when you change the height, it makes it look weird next to NPC.

Can't help you with the rit. setup, I had severe problems playing one in the preview and decided against making one now.

The style of character though.. I spend a very long time putting faces/hair and colour together. To me, each character needs to be personalised in some way, and while my warrior has several twins (in various hights), I think I got away with making a more 'unique' type character on the other slots.

Does a warrior have to be really tall? No, not really. Mine is a very short warrior, who's still taller than my b/f's tiny monk, apparently, monks aren't as tall as warriors. And for the last time, my mesmer isn't tall! you guys are all short I coulda made him taller :P

As for game play, why not make the character, see how you go with that build and then change skills as you need to make the character 'yours' and more interesting than the same 8 skills over and over again.

I normally have my build ready for a mission, but then, after finding a group, will spend time reading skill descriptions, and occasionally exchanging one or the other skill while the group leader finds more people.

Good luck with it

Factions armour isn't like Tyria armour. You can get every single different stat for each type of armour, so you can mix and match attributes while having the armour look like one full set instead of a mixed set. Or you could do the opposite, have same set attributes but with different looks for each piece.

If another ritualist has the same setup as you in your party, make sure they don't clash and if they do, one of you will have to change.

I know. That's why I figure Shaman is a bad armor to use.
As far as armor goes...
I think I understand. Each of the armor NPC have the same armors, but they look different. I noticed they cost different materials though. Which would be the cheapest as far as materials?

For my female ritualist at the height screen i put it up her height a bar and a half (every line equaling a bar) and shes about on average to most other players, as for male it doesnt really matter if their a bit taller, short may seem a bit weird though im my opinion.

Well, I figure if I put the height up 3 lines or so (from the default), he'll blend in with the taller guys pretty much, as well as NPC.

It seems that every Ritualist I run into is at maximum height. As I keep repeating, I want to blend in, but I don't want to be way taller than NPC. I tried putting height up 3 and then 4 lines, but I still don't like it. If I go with default, I look short compared with everyone else. I really don't know what to do. I just want to fit in. I'm trying to make sure I'm happy with this character before I create it.
