Why does everyone expect Victo's items to drop every RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing run and to everyone?

Yes the distribution does not look good on your first, even second run. If you do it enough times you will realise that the drops are random. Far more random than SF, where you could play for months on end without getting a single green - and have some runs where one person got the entire lot.

nobody said anything about them dropping all the time for every 1 clearly they are the most expensive items and generaly most sort after so its no wonder lots of ppl would like 1 to drop.and of the many runs i have completed at least 2 but usualy 3 victo's items drop.i myself have the sword and the longbow and llyanas' staff which are the only ones of any real use to me.would like to find the shield for my shield collection but no rush.i also have the eye which i'll keep because it looks cool and may be useful on some elem solo runs.would also like to get the knife for my collection as it looks cool and i like the fact that a.net has shown a sence of humor in tributing a guilds skit.still not sure why ppl are still paying silly money for a useless item but i guess they are still under the disbelife that is a assassin weapon.also not sure why ppl are going crazy over the axe, great its a sickle which means that skin is no longer rare but if my warrior was an axe weilder i would much rather have the sephis or cleaver or even the dwarven skin because they look much cooler.

Mesmer drops every time, allmost ever 1 is selling them and lucky memsers have cheap perfect staff. there are not that may mesmers but maybe is this new UW a way for Anet to say to us (MAKE MORE MESMERS) lol, this new UW is the mesmer home I like mesmers and try to get them to each mission, they are realy good help to each mission.

guildmates and i do this. if we already have the item, it gets sold to guildie at ridiculously low price, or we do a /roll for it and highest gets it. ive given away a few things that were worth money just because i didnt need anything else.

For a helluva lot less than the price of that silly victo's blade I got this: Firey Fellblade dmg 15-22 (req 10) dmg +14% always, energy -5, armor +5 Now if I can just find someone selling victo's bulwark hint hint (paying 100k + 300 candy canes), I'll be good to go

I understand what you are saying and i agree that people shouldnt complain about the drops. however, when this situation is enough to both totally destroy the economy AND force a lot of players to leave (yes, several of my friends have left over just this new green situation), then i think Anet needs to do something before everyone ends up getting sick of GW and just leaves. they are gonna have enough probs with the launch of RF. crazy crap like this isnt exactly a convincing way to make the newer, and even some of the older, players stay. destroying your own economy=not fun.
and dont even try to tell me that these items wont destroy the economy. if anet doesnt do anything about it, they will in time.

No, they won't. BTW - I'm about to rant. Please don't get angry...it's nothing personal.
Geez, people said all of the same crap after every nerf/change that affected griffon farming, etc. They said the same thing after the AoE nerf, after the first set of greens in SF came out, and so on, and so on, and so on.
ANet knows what they are doing. I'm sure they decided to introduce the new greens to affect the economic climate of the game exactly as it is affecting it. So, what is your definition of 'destroying' the economy? I don't get this. Is it when you suddenly can't get as much money for some stuff you wanted to sell as you could have before? If so, that's incredibly childish.
The health of an economy is measured by how it affects the entire body of people -- not how it affects your personal finances. With that in mind, guess what 'destroys' the economy. I'll tell you: excessive farming and use of exploits by a small percentage of people creating a lopsided distribution of wealth. In fact, I'll bet that's part of what ANet is trying to correct here. Some non-farmer person can get a Victo's Blade and sell it for 140k to some rich farmer. That's nothing to the farmer, but it's a ton of money for those players who have limited time to play (so don't farm much) or simply don't enjoy the repetative tasks of farming. This game is about having fun, after all.
I'm so sick of listening to people whine about how the economy is 'ruined' because prices on something they like to farm or sell suddenly went down. Get over it. The same things happens to people in real life. As far as people who are 'leaving the game' over stuff like this: I say, 'bye-bye and have a nice day.' If you want to stop playing the game because things aren't going your way that's fine with me. People who make threats like that are the same spoiled children that throw a temper tantrum and start calling everybody 'noobs' every time something doesn't go their way. I'm not interested in playing with those people anyway.
Money isn't everything. If you're no longer having fun because you can't get the money you wanted then I seriously don't think you're playing the right game. Since when was the fun of playing Guild Wars about trying to horde gold? I have a lot of fun developing my skills, meeting people, and playing the game. Fluctuations in the game (yes, it's just a game people) economy aren't going to dictate whether or not I have fun playing. Sure, it's fun to get a good drop and collect money for something you want to buy, but if that's all you're playing for then maybe you're just tired of Guild Wars and should move on to another game.
Sorry about the rant, folks, but I had to get that off my chest. I think people take in-game money FAR too seriously.

Alright guys, don't get me wrong here. I have never had a problem with a nerf or any such thing. And I despise farming. The only thing that I'm saying is that the best weapons in the game (worth over 100k) are dropping way too frequently. While it is a challenge to make it to the end of the new uw, I still think that having some people getting three greens per drop is a bit ridiculous. It seems by my earlier posts I went into some rants that were misspoken. What my opinion boils down to is that greens in uw are dropping too frequently. End of story. Maybe I should enumerate this.
1. Greens drop too much in UW.
2. Greens drop unfairly (unevenly distributed).
3. Noobs are able to make more money than the elite players just by luck of the drops (I've always had a problem with this in almost any MMO I've played, so it's not just GW I have issues with).
Now, what I want to see happen isn't for ANet to nerf the greens, nor to cease dropping them entirely. That would just make the rich even more ridiculously rich. The most practical solution would be for ANet to add a patch where each party member receives one random green drop. What I would love to see is some items that are even better and rarer than the greens in factions. I want to see something like reds that will be without a doubt the greatest items ever, but drop insanely rarely or made almost impossible to acquire without an absolutely awesome team. That's kinda what I was expecting from the greens when I first heard of them.
I apologize if my random rants have been offending anyone. As I said, I mostly misspoke myself in my two previous posts.
On a more personal note (and in reply to Dex), I don't put very much stock into games anymore. I used to be one of the players to freak out about every little thing. But when I see something like this (the unfair green drops), I just gotta say something. And the fact that you replied to my post shows that you care just about as much as I do.
Also, in reply to DJ, I kinda think GW focuses a little too much on the feedback from the PVP'ers over the PVE'ers. Don't get me wrong (again), I love PVP. But it just kinda seems like ANet listens more to the PVP community. Again, my opinion.

i agree fully and love your idea on reds,to have some sort of challenge that needs a full competant team and has such rewards that team nicely would be great.although maybe not as long as the new tombs because of the dc problems.i personaly would sign this because for a game based on skill it just sounds so right that the higher the skill of a team the better the reward should be.

As opposed to Grenth's Footprint/Sorrow's Furnace, which is badly overfarmed and prices have tanked. For what they're supposed to do, i.e. provide PvE players with reasonable obtainable "perfect" items, it's not bad that they're available. At the very least, it's better than grinding for that +30 pommel and 15>50 sword.

Any proof that it's not more than just a roll of the dice? In Monopoly, some players roll doubles and move farther than others. In fact, a few constantly roll doubles. Others roll non-doubles and get left behind. Rigged dice? Most likely not.

Yes, noobs are all over the Hall of Heroes now, and they're raking in millions. Not. The "elite" players have always had more money; go glance in the High End forum, or look at some of the players in Observer Mode. Just because someone thinks they're better doesn't mean they're entitled to more loot; they have to get it themselves.

How does this solve #1 again? It's still approximately the same drop rate, if not more with 8-man teams. I'm not really against it, but you're not supporting your own case now are you?

Ever heard of balance? Greens are good enough as is, without me waving the "Balthazar's Godly Ghostly Sword" in someone's face and taunting "noobs" with it.

If they did that, then they would be
1. Ridiculously expensive (wts uber red weapon balth's godly ghostly sword - 50 ectos),
2. Gotten by "noobs" through perseverence, farming strats, and sheer luck (old UW/FoW), and
3. Bought by the richest people anyway (how many people bought the items the first day for really high prices?)
Oddly enough, it already happens with golds and greens.

People forget. It's supposed to be a game about skills and strategy, not items or wealth. But for some, old habits die hard.

I do see the effect items have on the economy, and i do find it frustrating, but... All things go through this... just as in real life, supply and demand... i would like to see less drops of the items at end, as they r in SF... like 2 or 3.. prices would stay high, and less ppl would want to farm down to there...
Imagine a team of 8 ppl... 3 hrs later, 1 green item drops... noone would want to farm down there, because there r no fast small man teams as there are ppl that run into SF....
I see alot of complaints, but no offered solutions... My best idea would be to nerf down the drop rate, as they did with IDS..... let the market flex and prices will come back up.... The greens from SF have flexed back and forth a few times...

Just leave it alone. Who gives a flying dingo's poop about farmers or the economy? Every player should have equal accessibility to the "uber" items in this game with only a moderate amount of effort. This game isn't a Diablo uber-items ftw clone.
When all players can equally equip, then those with skills and strategy will float to the top in PvP (where you can get uber items to start, btw, on a PvP only char...) In PvE, you don't fight other players as it is, so why should you care if they have the same green as you?
Heh... my first run in the new UW, I got a Victo's Bulwark. Pretty nice shield. Now I need to either make a warrior to use it or give it away. Sigh...
