My friend was selling an item for 100k and 15 ecto, and in the trade window it said that the other guy was offering the 100k. But, my friend had 2k on his character, and instead of the game cancelling the trade, the 100k just dissapeared while he got the ecto..

W/o pic ANet could think it was a ploy to try to get money or frame someone. Usually it should cancel though. If it really did happen, regards to your friend

I believe your friend fell for the old trick of replacing the given amount to a different amount..

Easy way to test it: Have 100k on you and have someone give you like 10 gold. See if the 10g dissapears, or if it cancels the trade.

Sounds more like a scam than a glitch...

Last time this happened to me (not the glitch, just the situation) I had a measly 300g on me and the person was trying to trade me the 100k + ectos. I didn't notice I had money on me, but it cancelled and retracted the trade anyways.

Might be a glitch that rarely happens... might be a scam that isn't surprising. =x
