Anet likes people to spend hours and hours farming. So, they nerf easy money situations to make farming more time consuming. As long as rewards exist for the grind, people will continue to do it. More time grinding means more potential game exposure to family, friends, etc, which leads to more sales of the game. Farming is just a means to this end.

Theres no farming or farming runs anymore (aside from faction)
Everyone is given equal chances to make money *grather materials sell to players* (one time I was playing a mission, and a gold req 8 15% always mammoth axe dropped from an enemy out of nowhere)
I think how anet is balancing financial issues is giving everyone equal chances for super good items, make good mods appear more often, so a poor player could work through the whole game and gain 200k (lets assume, sells amulet for 70k, gets an 100k once in a blue moon item, and sells various materials for 50k, including some jade/amber at point of 10k faction quest)
And the rich people pay the poor people good money for the good items they find, so thereby somewhat balancing the wealth around.
No need for super expensive items for builds, just grab a few keys and hope for a nice celestial sword.

There are soooooooooooooooooooo many places to farm in Cantha it ain't even funny. Using a w/* build and thinking outside the box might help you in finding these places. The key is to switch your secondary to fit your environment. Not gonna spill the spots just yet but I'm sure in time alot of people will post in these here forums to enlighten some of the individuals who weren't creative enough to figure out builds of their own. Now as far as 55ing your way around Cantha that might be quite limited. I'd ditch the whole 55 (already did it many months ago) and go with a w/*. From personal experience farming Tyria and Cantha in the last 8 months I find there are more then twice the amount of places I can solo with a W/* build as opposed to 55. Plus 55 doesnt require much thought into it really. Everyone carries more or less the same skill set and it gets boring and unchallenging. Almost makes me feel noobish IMO.
