I would be impressed at that number too. It depends on how many copies they sold but I'd guess less than 1%.

Ugg was afraid of that... The PvE in Factions is more like an arcade/action game than an RPG. Which is nice, but not what I bought Guild Wars for. Like the so-called "bonuses" in the missions.

So far, if you look, its just the same guilds playing musical chairs with the towns.

the thing about that is, when americans are all asleep the europeans are able to take favor. if any european wants favor they just need to get a good group together and work out the elite map. anyone can enter hoh, there are no restrictions. i am in favor of the favor system, if people want to farm uw/fow then they need to prove that they are worthy of it by completing a rediculously hard, but possible to anyone, elite map. 99% of all players will never be able to prove themselves unless they grind 5 million faction. again, we paid 50$ for GuildWars, not GuildGrinding or FactionWars.

I think that they should let all people in the elite missions, or pay 1k kurzick/luxon faction to get in would be reasonable.

The current system is fine, it gives excellent rewards for those who deserve it and allowing every tom dick and harry into the game is going to ruin the drops for those who have spent more time and effort and skills in the game.
Cheers for Anet for providing a system that generates the ZEAL in you to stop being a n00b and play the game the way its meant to be played...like the elites.
The Elite system should be accessable to only highest skilled players, in every sense, Huge Alliances mean excellend coordination and control over hundreds of members to get you the elite town.
This isnt meant for casual players, dont ruin the fun for others just becuase you want it. Cry Babies ftl.
ANET should keep the current System...You hear that Gaile?

Actually I like it when people like this who support the current elite system post because it actually helps those of us against the elite mission access.
Anet, read Phrozen's post very carefully. Is this really the type of player your trying to gear your game toward? Gaile, is that really the "elite" you have made reference to in your chat logs? Those posting in favor of the way elite missions are accessed provide the best argument as to why its broken.
Please Anet, bring Factions back toward a gaming community where everyone gets along and can have fun. And ditch this poor game mechanic which is producing the ugliness that is so apparent in the above quote.

those missions are a joke.
They should just open it up for all.
If random groups can't survive bad for them, let them waist their time.
RPG does not equal PvP. And they just forgot about PvE.
For me, factions is only good for having 2 more slots, I'm back to prophecies.

i like that you are on our side, but i dont agree that it should be open to anyone at any time, there really should be some tough req to get through it, that way those that earn the right to fight in them are the truly elite, not just noob pugs

I've just read this thread and I really agree with most of you that the accessibility of the Elite missions is a bad mechanism. Personally I've been to this Elite mission on the Kurzick side, and please do not come here and tell me this is a place only for the elite players. Yes it is hard and there are lot of foes to kill, but I can't see why regular players shouldn't be able to reach far or even beat the mission. I regard myself as a regular player and NOT an elite and did quite well in the mission. The sad thing which I've noticed is that the owning alliance is charging people 25k to get a "ride" in to the elite mission outpost. I was lucky to be dragged into this outpost for free, and once you are in there you can't be kicked out, unless you zone to other places/towns on the map. Because I need to craft an armor for my char, I had to leave the town, now I can't enter it again.
However, knowing this is a bad system and Anet is doing nothing to adjust the system to favor the majority of the players, I've begun forming an alliance with two humble and ambitious goals in mind: 1; achieve to hold/own the town, and 2; Give all (if possible) players access to this elite mission.
It is ambitious but the true fun both in game and also in real life is to have fun for yourself but as well as to share the fun to other people.
My ingame nick is st nerevar, if you feel we share common goals please contact me so we one day might achieve something good for the game community.

well... common foxfire. you know as well as I its not the entire truth... The ones in control ATM, just happen to have the best group of Faction farming players in the game ATM. Its not nessesarilly that they are better then others in the game, just they have more farming time in... Which is fine as far as I'm concerned. but don't try to push off that they DESERVE the ability they currently have because they are the best in the game. We all know who the best is, and Hint hint, it has NOTHING to do with farming of any kind. And They got $100,000 and a gold cape trim from ArenaNet to prove it...

I suggest we ban together and make this happen. There seems to be no other way to wrestle control away and get access to this mission that we all so badly want access to.

I agree, Once The Crusaders Alliance owns Cavalon, the elite mission will be open to all free of charge. We can take it and hold it with your help.

Hmm... he mentiones that no casual player can finish the elite mission.
The majority here is over 20 and would be 'casual' players due to not living at home and having a job, possibly a wife, and friends to socialise with as well as playing gw. Say that the 'not-so-casual' player is 14 (just for arguments sake) and has the time, especially in the holidays to play endlessly, is that person really more skilled than one of us older people with a life and a better overview of how to play?
The best groups I have been in consist of adults who don't have a superiority complex and understand the meaning of 'team'. What he's suggesting is that team work has little to do with finishing the elite missions, but dedicated farming does. (as you need farmed faction/rather large alliance to hold the cities and I really don't see farming as skillful).
That said, I'm a long way to finishing the game, and at this point, have no interest in getting near the elite missions. When the time comes, I hope the hype has passed and the casual player can have their fun and I can find a team that knows what team play is.

I bought this game because the entire premise of it according to ANet is that playing once a week wouldn't put you at a disadvantage compared to people who play 20 hours a day.
Way to RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO that up.
Not only are they breaking from the premise they sold the game on by limiting the most interesting content to a tiny fraction of the total population, but they're still keeping in all the negative aspects such as collectors killing the weapons trade. Great job, ANet. Give your target audience the worst of both worlds, and feed them a bunch of lies.
