Blah, ditto. If they were able to guarantee that the CE would ship on May 4th I may have kept it, but they weren't even sure that it would come that early.

Given that this is a manufacturing issue, I say all stores, firestar. Most of us who were striving to get the CE just lost patience with the manufacturing issue. Clearly, we want to be in Cantha over the weekend.

My take on the problem is that the "manufacturing problems" are effecting the 2nd or third batch of CEs. Several companies have stated they will be receiving their allotment of CEs on time. They could be lying.
Either way one would think and hope that Anet would clear the matter up and tell the gamers once and for all what on earth was going on.

I don't see any problem with extending the access to 10 days. Only people who pre-ordered the game will have keys. There can be some people who got keys in other ways, such as ordered and cancelled or maybe they knew somebody at the store, but there shouldn't be too many of these people. Also, who wants to play factions for 10 days and then be locked out?
I think the best solution would be to give the stores extended access keys to distribute to collector's edition customers. If ANet is concerned with too much people getting free factions for 10 days, this method would work.

Honestly the problem isn't extending game access, it is extended the "grace period" since many will not have their faction keys until after the "grace period" has ended.

A sound idea, Lady Lozza. Unfortunately, most of us will not be waiting that long for a copy of CE now; and some players do not have a Prophecies character or two to back up on in such an interim.

Ideally I would love the "headstart" to extend to 72 hours, but personally I think beyond that is asking perhaps a little too much.
Anet want people to buy their product. Though it would be hard and require 24/7 gaming - skipping no essential quests, etc, the main factions story arc can probably be complete in 5 days. Anet wants to give us a taste of the game, they want us to buy it. Too much time and people will say, well I've done most of the game I'll cancel my order and save myself $50 - or whatever it is costing you. This is why it simply isn't feasible to extend the actual "play" section of the game too much beyond what it currently is already. The "grace period" on the other hand, is another story entirely.

Very disapointed. A simple sorry is not enough.

Surprisingly, very well said.
This is a real sorry showing on NCsofts part, for sure..
Pay more, get less, wait longer..
Exactly.. F that shit. I canceled. I didn't even bother downgrading.. I just, canceled.
But what is all this speculation about a possible 10 day extension.. I thought it was said that AN was going to extend the 'preview' into 10 days while people were waiting for the CE to arrive.

Here in Australia it seems GW CE is also delayed for what seems like a week. I believe the reason is because they're having difficulties printing the bonus stickers that come with CE.... Stickers... I mean come on.

Collector's edition includes Premium Art Book with concept and game art, desk calendar, mousepad, Cantha poster, sticker set, soundtrack CD and bonus music unlock key, and a delay of a few days ~ all for an extra $20 bucks! (actually $30... read below)
---
No only that, but BestBuy has a coupon $10 off for any PC games over $39.99, and this coupon expires the 29th! Which means don't even begin to think about using it on the CE whenever it decides to release.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....cat81200050016
So really, GWF STANDARD EDITION is $49.99-$10 = $39.99, PLUS they get a free T-shirt, and this is only for the Regular edition. (look at link, standard version only)
$40 for standard GWF on April 28th
$70 for CE GWF on some day later
If there is any better time to cancel the CE preorder it would be now. I actually don't mind it too much, since I have final exams during this time, and cannot be bothered with this ridiculous release date, although it does cancel my plans of being the "early" explorers outside of the pre-order event. *turning thumbs down*

preorder key, CE crap, so confused...
Ok, so i got my preorder key. it came with some sort of disk. I keep hearing something about delays on shipment. Shipping what?
additionally, can't I just download the client online? and then just use that? i've already added my preorder key, so now i'm waiting for...what? an install disc?
Or can i just download the client on guildwars.com, like the current client?

My understanding is that you can buy the physical disk/key on Launch, or just wait for NCSoft to offer online keys via their site.
If you've preordered it and entered the key, just wait for the release I believe.

you don't have to install anything..it's already been streamed to you.....
if you put in your key...your golden.....sit back and wait for the event...but make sure you get your retail copy before the 48 hours is up , or your access to the faction content will be locked.
The delay everyone is talking about is the Collector edition of factions....ignor it.
