I have to confess I did this initially as well for the first week or so of factions and was probabably one of the first to actually think of the idea. Only I did it with major runes and made a fortune from it (and I sold a sup dagger for 20k ).
I stopped doing once I had my money for armour and can't blame anyone else for doing it, however, to ask people on forums to not sell them to traders seems a little bit over zealous if you ask me :P
I think the market could do with an influx of minors from a-net just to balance it out at the moment. Shove a couple of thousand minor assassin runes in, it'll soon stop these inflation problems :P

I don't think that selling a minor rune for multiple plat is ripping people off - it's thier choice to pay that much if they do not want to wait. Myself, I just checked the trader every time I hit a town that had one. No biggie, I got my runes pretty quick.
That being said - I'll sell my runes to who I please. I don't care if you think the prices are being deflated, I have absolutely no intention of sitting and spamming the trade channel (and if you are spamming the local chat then you can literally go to hell for all I care). You have no guarantee of profit, no guarantee of high prices, that is what the trader system GW has is supposed to do - deflate prices and being "sold out" isn't a normal status.
I wish they had a weapon modifier trader (or auction house) to kill some of the horridly high prices many upgrades go for. Too many are like me, it's just not worth it to sit in an area and spam the trade channel to attempt to sell something unless it worth insane amounts of money, just get the 100-300 gold at the merch and be done with it. I would *much* rather have a trader or auction house and it should drive prices quite a bit down (and that fits the whole skill > grind idea very well, money sinks should be in skins not stats). Of course, Anet says this will eventually come, though I suspect that the ragequitters/complainers will abound at that time with the rest of us quite happy.

"Stop putting minor sin runes back into the system, you wouldn't want assassins to improve their performance by getting their hands on affordable runes."
Yeah, keep the Assassin class down the mud. Does anyone else see the irony in this?

Where is my Fire Hose? - I'm All for turning a Profit but Man You're Bold - I personally give them away because I know how ruff it is for the new Classes and it sucks not having what you need. Communisms FTW!!!

Completely disagree with OP. Minor Runes are suppose to be plentful and cheap. It was nice you were making money but supply and demand are staring to even out as the market demands and Minor runes (any) are suppose to be cheap.

This thread has urged me to go farming for minor Assassin runes and flood the trader with them.

I'd encourage selling as many things to merchants as possible. As it is now, GW inflation is going to continue rapidly. The more stuff you sell to merchants or buy from merchants, the more money that is taken out of the economy, which is what we need.

You forgot:- Just go out and kill monsters for yourself and loot/pillage brand spanking new *free* runes.
