Yea and if you haven't paid attention to Anets advertisiments for the game they clearly advertised the game to be based on players skills in-game not the time and effort players spend doing something. Which by the way how much time are they wasting when they use Bots. Read the threads before you post something like that.

A lot, and definitely a lot more MONEY in terms of electricity too.
I may not have a PhD in math but I certainly do know 600 factions when you win is a lot more than 300 factions when you lose. Besides how can you be *so* sure they are using bots?

I find nothing wrong with ferry charge or tips. An alliance farmed factions to get a town and can do whatever they want with it.
And it is easy to understand why OP and some others complain about ferry charge : Elite Mission is like UW and FoW, they are high-end PvE areas with hard mobs and rare drop. You are willing to pay for Balthazar and Grenth ( NPCs) to go to UW and FoW, but you don't want to pay for people who hold town to ferry you, because that is human instinct. Paying to others and "help" them rich will be not pleasant as paying to NPCs.

So far I have seen many ferries for free or for tips. If controlling alliances let everyone win...why not get rid of the exclusive access system altogether?

Just for the record, the [oOo] Alliance will take control of House in 1 hour 20 minutes (We were 40k away in the previous tally! ) and will be offering free/tip ferries.
I meanwhile, will be in the Warren.

Let's see how far we can drag this line of argument shall we?
"OMFG! I PAID $50 FOR THIS GAME, THIS GAME INCLUDES THE BITS AND BYTES REPRESENTING FOW ARMOR! ANET ADVERTISED THAT THIS GAME IS BASED ON PLAYER SKILLS IN-GAME NOT THE TIME AND EFFORT PLAYERS SPENT DOING SOMETHING! GIMME MY FOW ARMOR NOW!"
Does that make sense to you?
It sure as hell doesn't to me, but I can see how in a twisted perspective it does.

Well, as a member of the TC Alliance, I will toss out there, that is within the rights of a controlling Alliance to charge people to be ferried across, accept tips, or even refuse to ferry folks at all... I just don't agree with it.
This is not our policy. I personally, will not accept tips for ferrying folks to the Deep and neither will many of our members. If someone is charging for access to the Deep, send me a message in game and I will pass it on. Additionally, I hope that the Warrens are opened to all! In the mean time, we'll continue to farm faction and hold Cavalon. If I'm in Cavalon, and have more than a quick run to the Merchant and Faction Transfer NPCs I'm more than happy to give somebody a lift.
Thanks to all of the folks who complimented us in this thread, many of our members read posts here and the other fansites and makes the tedium of faction farming a bit more rewarding.

Currently the controlling alliance can do whatever they want with the elite, they worked to get the town, so they earned the right under the current game mechanics.
|
I just want to point out Guilds/Alliances will a prodominantly large member base, don't have to work THAT hard to get control.... It's the smaller guilds that have to work their asses off to gain that much faction.
Me, let them charge all they want. As long as people will pay them, of course they're going to charge. Everyone is ready to complain, but no one thinks about the fact that if they don't pay them, then maybe they'll just try and give up charging and not let people in at all probably. Of course, showing that to Anet might make a change a bit quicker

I'm sorry, I have only read the first 2 pages of the thread at this time.
Anyone performing a service is within their rights to charge for it or ask for a tip instead. This applies to real life too. They do not have to perform the service for you. For instance, we have all gone out to eat and had a waitress forget about us. It is the same thing, they don't have to ferry anyone! So since they are doing something that they don't have to do that takes their time from something else, pay the charge! Give them a decent tip, whichever. They don't have to do it!!!

Ironically, this topic wouldn't have existed of they had done their work. I guess you could say it is the indirect cause of all these stressors.
