Someone sure needs a talking to. This mission isn't the only part of the game that is in shambles.

really tho, there is nothing congruent anywhere in the plot, so why expect it here? the writers for this chapter should all be fired.

LoL... And that is exactly what I did. I looked at script... looked at ghost... thought I read it wrong... no not wrong... maybe ghost is not really female... nope that is female... *scratches head looking very confused* maybe I'm crazy or perhaps something was messed in last update?

I thought this was a new phenomenon but ya'll are saying it's been there since day 1 though so... A-net produced a very shoddy game. Once again I will say that I am glad that I did not spend moola on the game but it was gifted to me... I do feel bad for the person who bought it for me though because a lot of thought went into it's purchase and it's all for naught. I would rather a quality game every 2 or even 3 years then one that is full of mistakes every year.

Oh come on! The plot ain't so bad! I thought the death of [REDACTED] just before the end was very well foreshadowed and a perfect twist!

my guess is they liked the buzz that the unsolved mystery of gwen created, so they just made as many pieces of the puzzle not fit together as possible this time on purpose. the square peg will fit in the round hole if you hit it hard enough.

Well, Jaizhanju was obviously a man trapped in a womans body, due to the absence of hospitals in cantha the sexual reconfiguration couldn't go ahead.

Maybe Jaizhanju was out getting her hair done, so she sent her faithful servant. We can't all be on duty, all the time! :P

The title should have been "Tahnnakai Temple and the Gender-Confused Heroines"...!

Well, early in Prophecies, Glint used to give me the middle finger when I beat the game. Guess she is pissed that I killed her, dying makes people get pissed. They patched it though, I can't get her to give me the bird any more.

When I first noticed this, I thought it was kind of funny. I never realized people took this kind of stuff so seriously. Is it some kind of joke? Poor communication among devs? Certainly fixing it is not at the top of my Anet Honey-Do list but unless its meant to be funny, it does show the superiority of Prophecies team over Factions team.

Basically everything said above, but I want to feel important.

I love how it feels just like the crystal desert.. Not. They could've easily made ghosts of each of the hereos... Lazy bums.

Well it's not exactly important, just downright laughable that this mix up ever happened, and I'm just angry at how much they obviously cared for my report on it.

That's true, they bothered making the statues unique, they could have made the ghosts resemble the statues if they cared. Instead they....don't even make sure they used the generic ghost of the proper gender? Shame on them.

I'm betting the whole deal with the ghost of Kaolai and the statue inscription listing his name as Mao is that they changed the hero's name and never bothered to update the inscription. Shame on them either way.

I'm kind of concerned that ANet's game quality is going down the toilet with their "2 new games per year!!" release schedule. Sure, there are 2 development teams, one for each chapter, and one year of development cycle before release, but there are many screwed up things in this chapter that probably wouldn't be there if they tested it more thoroughly as they did in the original game. Missions incompletable due to bugs, certain elite skills not available for weeks, god-awful Elite Mission access (let's only allow 0.01 percent of players to have access each day!) and dozens of bugged quests...the list goes on. Probably would have helped for them to have more than one beta/preview weekend.

If you pay a visit to Nahpui Quarter you'll see something similar. Check the names of the four celestial beings in the cinematic where you first meet Suun, then check the names on the statues, then check the names of the celestial beings in the mission. You'll also notice Suun's character model changes between the intro and outro cinematics for Nahpui.

It honestly doesn't say much of the game's lore if the developers can't even remember the names of their characters.

That would make a lot of sense, since they probably realised they didn't want to refer to Chairman Mao at the last minute.

Don't get me wrong. I love factions. But yeah, the writing is kind of dodgy. Some of it is quite ok, but some of it makes very little sense. Most of all, it is highly inconsistent.

Just an example: who killed Shiro, the first time? At least 3 people seem to have been involved, with one person wounding him, 'eventually' leading to his death... But was he not killed pretty much straight after trying to assassinate the emperor? And where did he, as a former city-guard fighting street thugs and then a bodyguard, get the power from to turn a sea to jade and a forest to stone with just 1 death-cry? And this job he has after his death... if it is a job, does he not have a boss? Grenth, for example? And what exactly is he doing in the city, when it is 'under attack'?

I know this is a game for a global audience, with many players who would get bored by a more involved and original story like that of Planescape Torment, Half-Life etc. but there is really no reason for the story/writing to be so sketchy with so many small mistakes. Anet make a great game, but they really should hire some new people to help out their writers. Given the money that goes into making a game like this, you'd expect something top-notch.
