The Improved Jade Quarry
Since no one else has said so, a big thumbs up and thanks to A.net for improving Faction rewards on the the Jade Quarry.
This morning (UK time) before I headed off to work I had a run about the Jade Quarry for the first time ever.
Needless to say it was fun and much more challenging then Fort Aspenwood if you ask me, everyone has no idea what to do but soon everyone got the right idea.
People still continue to hump the leg of Fort Aspenwood like a dog on heat, but hopefully more and more will give the Quarry a go.

Think what we're seeing at the moment, is an inital rush of people wanting to try the Jade Quarry since the patch.
But since Jade Quarry and the Fort now provide equal amount of Faction, hopefully people will clue in and stop playing Fort Boringwood so much.

I did it last night for the first time ever and it was a blast. I was on the Kurz side and for a while we were getting "No opposing party." I teleported to Cavalon and the Luxon side of Aspenwood and politely challenged the Luxons to come to Jade Quarry. After a couple of minutes we finally had a Luxon party to challenge us and it was a blast. We ended up victorious and I got 650 faction for my effort. Nice job Anet!

Crap, I hope not a lot of people find out about the updates to Jade Quarry, because when more people find out, the AFKers will follow....

Unfortunately the cancer we call AFKer's will follow eventually; so will the leavers. I played Jade 15 times last night after the update- and the third game I played, the same guy I fought during the first game was incidentally in our party, and as soon as the game started the guy disappeared. THE THIRD GAME! are people that stupid as to ruin the fun as soon as it starts? I mean, I've been on both sides, but at least I play both sides to win.
I guess the facts of life can't be avoided, even if they suck so much.

THANK YOU ANET for evening out the faction rewards!! I've been vying to play the quarry ever since I played it during the FPE, I had a blast with it then. It is a heck of a lot more fun and more challenging than the fort (shall we say that the fort is biased toward the kurzicks usually as well, esp when there's 2 bonders and a boon/prot on the same team, they just sit on their butts and bond away and they win by default ), and I was disappointed that people cared more about gaining faction than having a good time. Hopefully this will change.

I was so hoping to be able to group before the mission started... oh well. Good additions to the map anyway.

Nice, I played that in a preview and it was fun. Tried to get in a couple of days ago - 2 people on the luxon side and 0 on kurzick

Personally I hate Fort Aspenwood =P, cuz sometimes it gets confusing and all messy during battles.

The quarry seems to require alot more strategy than Aspenwood to win, probably due to the goals. In aspenwood its simple, defend/rebuild or attack attack attack! That tactic won't do much in Quarry beyond make you lose quickly.
The few times I managed to play the map it was quite a bit of fun, the first time no one knew what/where/when/why but second time through actual strategy came to form and it got interesting.

i went first with my ranger, and then with my wammo, it was fun, altough when i mapped to the luxon quarry, there were 12, maybe 20 people, while at the kurzick side were like 30-40, some luxons still preffer the offensive advantage at fort aspenwood.
when i mapped there with my warrior i got to see one of the luxons say:
"then why play here if we have the advantage at fort aspenwood?"
i still have a small complain about the quarry, about the little faction for the losing side (45*X) where X are the jade slabs, hopefully this will lead to less afkers as losing here can give as little as 100 faction, less than fort, but its going to be harder to get 400 faction losing. (altough its possible).
all in all, thank you Anet for this update, now i can have my smiter go get some action without feeling remorse for my team
