Does GW has "CPL potential"?
Hi:
Recently i saw a post on CPL official forum suggesting GW could make it to a pro gamer level such as CPL.
Trouble stated is that GW matches are played over internet and not on a LAN-controlled enviroment, and that leaves a wide open door for cheating.
Do you think GW could become the first CPL's "MP Tactical PvP RPG"?. There's a petition, for example, to add DotA, asi i see on the CPL forum.
And most important: would Anet be willing to provide a way/info/infrastructure/know-how (If needed) to arrange CPL tournaments on a much controlled enviroment than the internet?
Your thoughts... regards.

Edit: CPL - http://www.thecpl.com/league/
I think it does. Guild Wars' high level PvP fits the profile of CPL.
It would be cool, but it seems Anet/NCSoft wants to be in control of how the tournies are set. I dont think they would set up a "tournament edition" of GW. o.o

Guild Wars will never be played outside of NcSoft organised tournaments.
The "skill" needed to play GW is nothing compared to other competitive games because GW is almost solely about effective use of team chat. Everything else can be learned in a few weeks of play. Example: a skilled Warcraft player can easily defeat 2 or 3 opponents by playing alone. Could Esoteric Warriors defeat an average, TS using guild without using TS themselves ? I really doubt it.
Second reason: Guild Wars PvP is incredibly boring to watch, it's only interesting to hardcore PvP players, mainly because they get to take a look at the builds. For every other guy out there: a Guild Wars match between two high level teams is usually a 20+ minute draw that usually ends when one of the teams makes some mistake, shifting the balance in favor of the opponent.

Depends on the build for sure, but yes, they could. It would be hard to spike without voice comm, but once you've played a balanced pressure build with the same people for months I'd say that you could run without voice chat and still maintain a high level of play.

Oh come on, pvp battles can be very fun to watch and it's not all about looking at the skills used. If you're really into competetive pvp play you'll learn or recognize great tactics and individual player's skill in top-level matches. The most interesting are the championships Top8 matches where you an observe interesting choices and build changes between matches to outsmart the opponents.
And i think a top guild like EW could well defeat an average guild without using a voice com (but still using ingame terms of comunication like calling targets, used skills, energy levels, drawing on radar, some short msgs on team chat...)
