Instead, I decided on submitting a build that is designed to be used in RA. The majority of players that actually use premades will be using them in RA anyway. Once they get to the stage where they want to do GvG/HA, they have other resources to help them find good builds for these places. Also, I wanted to try to make a build that isn't all that common, something that's different but still effective. I also wanted to make a build that allows the possibility of improving a player's PvP skill, so touch rangers are out.
So without further ado, I present the Melandru's Assault Beastmaster. It probably won't win any popularity contest, which is a shame 'cause I think it's a cool, different, effective build.

I actually couldn't agree more. Some of the builds up there are good but do you really want to equip newbies with endgame builds? Welcome to guild wars, this is what you will use in GvG?
Nah, yhere's no need supply people with templates of the most popular builds around. They can build those if they want. The templates should be builds that can hold their own, contribute nicely to the team, but be something other than the standard top 10 GvG builds you see.
That being said, Your Melandru's Assault build ain't bad but it has no defense and only pet offense which, while good, is not as good as the player could be himself.
I would spec
13 (10+1+2) BM
13 (11+2.....14 expertise is really no better than 13) Exp
9 (8+1) Marks
and add one defensive stance so you can survive long enough to use your healing If you want, you could even spec 12/10/8 and use to superior runes.....

Apparently your rating appears as a 0 until you get 5 or more votes. It's too bad though because I'm sure there's some good builds that won't be looked at because they don't have ratings.

JR is winning <3
It's unfortunate that something with Soul Barbs, Wastrels and Recurring Insecurity in the same "build" is coming in second though :S

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Expertise, 14 expertise is better than 13 expertise and pretty necessary if you're going to be spamming the 10 energy skills like you should.
And before factions I used to run Escape as the elite, and it's still a possibility now. I like Heal as One though, because you can't go wrong with a huge self-heal that also heals your pet. I don't want to use superior runes, because I want health to be as high as reasonably possible. As it is, with a +60 staff, the ranger has 520 health, which is pretty decent, and gives you enough leeway to use Heal as One when you need it.
But the biggest trick to this build is to stay in the background, especially at the beginning of a match, and not be a primary target. This isn't that hard for a ranger to do, especially a beastmaster ranger, but it's definitely a good skill to learn in PvP. If you can stay under the enemy's radar while being effective, that's always a good thing. Other good skills this build can help teach: watching for enemy enchantments and picking the right target, disrupting enemy skills, and how to use AoE skills (Melandru's) properly.
And the pet attacks are nothing to scoff at. They've been buffed considerably and they're effective now (if not the peak of perfection). Melandru's does considerable armor-ignoring damage on something like a W/Mo or boon prot, and Brutal Strike is the pet equivalent of Final Thrust, the 5 second recharge makes up for the fact that it's a bit weaker.

Very decent and effective mesmer, great to learn the benefits of kiting vs melee characters. (No self heals, but a lot of defense.)
So basic that I don't even want credits for it, but I think it would be a good addition to the premades.

This is a build wich I used some months ago, but it is still very effective.
Heavy damage ranger build
A warrior build, but it doesn't has a chance to win because it doesn't have a self healing ability.
It's a knockdown warrior, check it out its heavy damage.
Heavy damage warrior build
Vote for me

Shameless plug time! Mine was the first of the condition W/Ns to be submitted ... and I still like it the best, honestly. Nothing like teleporting with a warrior to really confuse people. :P

Here's an assassin build that I have more fun running than a classic A/Mo AoD/GPS or a fun Shove assassin that still builds around the popular staple combo of Horns of the Ox/Falling Spider/Twisting Fangs. What's different with the build known as Black Lotus Requiem is that it's fueled by near constant supplies of Black Lotus by way of Flourish.
For alliance battles, consider dropping the res sig for Wild Blow as the utility will help immensely.
The main drawback of this is that if someone just buys Factions, this build is impossible due to the cornerstone that is Flourish.

Except they are both Mesmers with fast-casting, using arguably the best PvP hard-res in the game?

Meh
I searched their public and found that Mes/A was a class setup that had a few submissions, so I used a build I've been toying around with lately and submitted a Me/A interupter. I'm obviously worried about it being too advanced for someone new to the game, but the arenas need more interupters. :P even the puggiest pug can be useful if he interupts a res signet

All the good monk and warrior builds were done, albeit most often poorly.
True Shutdown featuring Expel Hexes
One of my favorite mesmer builds - since it cannot be denied. Oh, votes would be hot. Ch-check it out.
