No, we cannot tell who had a pet, what kind of pet it was, etc. Sorry, it's not that we would not like to be able to do so, but it is not possible. Obviously, this isn't something we can do by request, either. And remember, for the security of the game, the developers cannot spawn gold, items, orbs, pets, or anything at all. So the concept of restoration is not an option, with our deep regrets.

So too is it not possible to offer some form of compensation. We cannot give compensation for any loss, and while that is unfortunate, there is very solid reasoning behind that policy, and the policy needs to be immutable in order to maintain the soundness and the integrity of the game.

I want to say that the number of people affected was very small, in the overall scope of things, because thankfully the bug was caught very quickly. And do know that the relative smallness in number does not in any way reduce our compassion for the loss or our deep regrets for what happened!

And yes, if I did not make it clear, the bug was fixed very quickly and is not happening now. Nothing else was changed, including the placement or the availability of pets.

I wish all of my fellow Rangers the best of luck in finding the best possible pet, and in leveling him or her quickly.

I'm glad I had a non-pet build when I took my Ranger in. Levelling, even if fast, still takes time.

So much for my black moa then. Now I need to find someone willing to sacrifice their ability to be able to capture it doing the quest so I can get it back.

I'm still heartbroken about the loss of my pet. I play one char, and I get attached sorry, must be a female thing.

I do appreciate the apology from Gaile and do not expect a roll back. Sure would be nice if I could get this stupid phoenix to hearty faster though.
Best way to get a pet to Hearty is Barrage-Pet runs. That's how I got my ranger's lvl 20 Phoenix. You can ususally get about 2-3 levels from a complete run. Also, the pet's damage is so little that they always end up Hearty.

My necro (yes my NECRO) had a Black Moa named Bob. I wanted to try and see if I could have him in the Dragon Arena. He got deleted. Just today, after I found out he was deleted, I went out and captured a new one. If you have already done "The Beak of Darkness" quest, you can just go outside of Fort Aspendwood (Kurzick) and capture a new one wondering around the area. Just watch out for Mungri Magicbox, he can get in the way.

Unfortunately, I am one of those who went in with my Dire Black Widow. -ticked- Just found out he was gone today as well. So now I must start the annoying process of finding a good group to recapture. :\

By the way, that black moa is always there wether you have the quest or not (you don't have to do the quest either). I used him as a replacement for my Spider for awhile. >.<

The game saves previous pet names. One last little kick in the nuts was when my Black Moa had my arachnids name.

umm, reading the instructions gave me an idea that we will be given a different skill set once inside the arena.

And I've been playing my Ranger in the Dragon Arena yet I still have my pet when I go somewhere else. Maybe this is an isolated case only affecting a few rangers.
