If I recall, it was said to hopefully be implemented 'in the next few weeks' or somesuch.
Kijik, the saying is "Patience is a Virtue" .
Still think the added storage will be sweet. Since most of what I put in there is crafting materials anyhow, it's perfect. I have a merged account and a full roster and don't seem to have near the inventory crunch that a lot of you do (yes, most of my avatars have at least one extra set of armor, my ranger carries two extra) but then again, I don't farm nor do I keep every single thing I find while questing or exploring.
Character slots: can hardly wait for that! I want my necro back and a Smiter/Curser (had one a long time ago).

I believe you are wrong. It is my understanding that it is for MERGED accounts only, not just one chapter or the other.
EDIT: I just looked it up at GW and it is indeed stated for Factions owners. That's odd. Shouldn't really need it unless you have the merged account, which is probably why I misinterpreted it.
Sorry for my comment. I stand corrected.

do you realize that would double the amount sent for every slot for all chapters to come as you have to transmit a full byte at a time not a byte and 2 bits extra.
going from one byte of info to two bytes would be a big increase
also the community you refer to is the minority of (mostly) rich farmers with 20 stacks of a few items or pvp people with armor/wep/items they HAVE to have.
the casual player (majority) will love this.
ALSO
consider that the next tab may be for event items since those are standard items as well

I think at the very least, allowing us to use ANY materials in as many stacks as we are allowed in the materials tabs would be nice. Look at parchment....how much wood do you need to make a full ascetic monk armor? (yes prophecies example) Way more than 1 stack. -.o
Look at any max armor! It requires more than 1 stack. Don't you think its downright silly to only allow us 250 :P

I'm not happy with it, sorry. This does not help me at all. I mostly have loads of Armor, Weapons, Keys and event items; and that is what I need to store. I have already bought all of the armor I was going to get for factions and collected/used all of the materials I needed. So no, it does not help me; but its good for the people it does help.
I guess I will wait to be happy when I see some improvements in storage that will actually help me and others have a full closet of armor or maybe a full storage of weapons for different situations

So let me get this completely clear.
The online community has been asking for more storage space for more than half a year now. If I remember correctly, it's been more like a year.
- ANET decides to allow people only to store extra materials, so that the people who were strapped for space because of armors/weapons/etc are still screwed.
Overall judgement? Inadequate.
- ANET decides to limit each storage slot to 250 pieces. Not even enough to buy a full armor set should you be using iron ingots and etc. Those who enjoy hoarding materials and are strapped for space will be forced once more to sell any materials they have after receiving 250 more pieces.
Overall judgement? Inadequate.
Others on the board are suggesting that we eagerly scrap up the leftovers ANET seems to have casually thrown to us. Others are saying that something is better than nothing.
To me, this is a total insult. Players that have been waiting for at LEAST half a year or a year for more storage space have been given a half arsed solution. It is the classic example of too little too late - and at this point it is more like a slap on the face than a salve to any of our problems.
Thanks a lot ANET. For once you couldn't simply reward your loyal playerbase with some free slots, especially when they were mentioned at every other Gaile Gray/Frog meeting, you had to take the next step and thoughtfully make a simple idea into a worse one.
I didn't know you could turn more storage space into a [email protected] idea, but I guess we've got exceptionally talented people devising the guild wars strategy.

be of good cheer.
they said more than a year ago that they would make small steps so if they had to backstep it wouldnt be a big disaster.
give them time to see how this is working and hopefully the next tab will be eveny items/dyes as those are standard items as well.
have hope

Personally I think they should just implement that you can put the large size backpacks in our inventory. Probaly a lot less work writing that too and then the storage would be huge enough and would not have to worry about future updates. Or even at least a bottom row of back packs. That would be equal too two mules in my opinion.

I know this. I've been in GW since beta 04. That is exactly why its rare. They do not drop anymore and most people did not keep them after the change.
Most runes in the inventory were also converted to the new skin. For some reason it skipped mine
Go try to buy a blue text minor skin sup vigor rune. You will be paying a few 100k for it. If you can find one that is. Haven't seen any for sell in about 4 months.

No we should not be satisfied. But we should not look at this as if it was nothing. Either direction is ignorant and naive.
To say that this is AWESOME and the best thing ever is ridiculous, because its VERY limited.
To say that its useless and pointless is also ridiculous, because people WILL benefit from it, even if limited.
-----------------------
To me, this is a beginning.
We must continue to give Anet feedback through our threads and show them the direction they must take.
It is naive to believe that this is the end and final solution.
I understand that you may have low expectations of Anet because of previous disappointments. But please do not be so harsh to judge so soon based on something that is not even implemented yet.
If this storage change is only a beginning and Anet is indeed testing new code to add more storage, i wouldn't expect any apologies from anyone here thats bashing Anet prematurely. But i would hope to expect some sort gratitude.

After reading your post, I will say I understand your point of view. You may consider this an apology from me for my harsh words, but every month seems like forever in order to implement seemingly simple things.
If this is indeed a first step in a series, then it would be nice to know so. As it stands I cannot sit here and simply assume ANET is coming up with more.

To close it would be irresponsible and only spawn more just like it. But you are free to leave the thread alone until you feel that you can handle it.

I don't see how its irresponsible but I do agree that more would spawn. I guess 1 huge flame thread is better than 10 little ones.

I don't care if closing this big one spawns fifty little ones. I'll close those too.
Flame threads aren't allowed. Period. It doesn't help that ever other post that isn't a flame is completely off-topic. This thread needed to die anyways.
