No more WoW Spam
it's pointless! Im playing guild wars and dont want people telling me how much better WoW is. It could well be but I aint gonna find out as I dont want to pay every month to play it. All that comes of this constantly renewed argument is that it makes you think WoW players are insecure and have to buy other games to shout at people who dont play it. We actually had to kick someone from our guild because he just wouldnt stop shouting about how great WoW was spoiling it for our players! Never mind but lets keep things constructive ^^

I agree. Why would you play Guild Wars with the purpose of saying how much better WoW is, despite the fact that it isn't. We all know that GW is better, PC Gamer said so, and realistically, the game looks and plays better. It would be nice if people kept the arguments out of the game, especially out of Random Arenas, there seems to be alot of the WoW fans there.

I seem to remember that if you bring a new player to WoW you get a free month's play.
I think that's your incentive to scream and holler about WoW right there...

I agree; the argument is stupid, mostly because they are very different types of games; wow is a mmorpg; guild wars is not (not sure exactly how you would define gw). I play both and enjoy both.

No more WoW!
Don't pay for a game then pay for the priveledge of playing it.
Pay for guild wars, then play for free.
Guild wars FTW

I think that is true, i gotta do that for getting my friend to play . Having both games though I would say GW is superior but there are some extremely fun things on wow. I dont think they should be talking about it, in other games they would have the possibility of getting banned.

Another point only slightly off topic and equally redundant! Can we stop the children who stand in Cavalon/House Zu Heltzer shouting 'Kurzick/Luxons Suck' equally pointless as ant decent player will play both sides. It's like being in a playground with no teachers to sort out the rabble :P

As I have just said; I think the argument is a silly one; but this point is quite misleading.
You pay for the game inititially to get the basic package. The monthly subscription goes to pay for in game support and significant new content and events on a regular basis. It is the same with all subscription mmorpgs. You are not, as you say, simply paying for the priviledge of playing the game.
In anycase; in gw if you want new content you atill have to fork out £30 every 6 months - so £5 month; compared to £8 per month for WoW for example. So its not really much different; just clever marketing.

Cat Tabby, they have server maint all the time.
Their downloaders are peer to peer.
The monthly fee does not actually add that much content. It is just to upkeep servers and line their pockets.

Actually, if I dont want to play factions, I dont have to put up the money for it. If I only wanted to play Guild Wars Prophecies, No more fees. If I only want to play WOW, without any updates/new content for my original purchase price, there is no option for that.
Guild Wars has a wonderfully unique marketing technique, I hope many other games jump on this wagon.

Who really cares what people talk about? If you dont want to hear is then dont listen. There's always a whole bunch of crap talk no matter where you go. If it's bothering you, then the problem is within yourself.

I've played both games and to be honest, I like WoW more.
I like the "cartoonish" look in WoW alot, and the game plays fine aswell. Only downer is the €15 every month, and you gotta practice for months to finally be able to do an end raid instance.
However, I am not one that tells any other people in GW and out of GW how much better WoW is than GW, cause I love GW too.

you always get the posts saying that if you complain about what other people say it's your own problem it's not theres. Well I am complaining. It's a redundant post and yes I could put them on forget but for the love of god if I did that for every idiot I wouldn't be playing the game I'd be constantly checking and unchecking players. My point is it's a waste of time and when running a guild its deconstructive for newer players to be bombarded with such crap. Not everyone is as peacefull as you may be Kaya and when a guild and sometimes a whole alliance errupts in a stupid argument it gets old fast. Being an officer in a guild which prides itself on being helpfull I cannot switch guild chat off as someone needs to assert authority over situations before they get out of hand. I have enough trouble sorting out racism and general name calling without a WoW rearing its ugly head

So, what do you think is the easiest thing to do? Convince thousands of gw players that love wow also to not talk about it? Or to teach yourself to not worry about what others talk about? All i'm saying is your not even making a dent if you think your gonna fix things this way. I'd start with youself.

I don't understand that at all. That game is so boxy and it's graphics are so low quality....they give it a cartoonish look because it looks like crap and they hide it with their "style". Seriously....just look at some of their screenshots. They're awful as awful can be.
I only wish Guild Wars had as much PvE stuff to do in it as WoW supposedly does *smirk* Alas, if it did and it charged for it, I wouldn't be playing it anyway
