I'm not surprised at all that this is happening. Heck it happend once in a while even before titles were in because people wanted to keep their "No deaths" streak going.
Quite sad really.

Wish they'd just remove this title and get it over with, lame how to get it you need to start a new character for a start.

must you start a new character, or just have a streak of 140k exp with no deaths?

It is a one time shot...like a hardcore mode...you die once on a new char before hitting that xp...and the title is lost...
I admit I was so close to it...and died due to hench stupidity...as in the hench agroed a group while I was recharging skills and boom couldnt do anything but die...not even time to log out...
I wouldnt play with a pug group cause I wouldnt want to play cautious with others around...but with the hench...they really mess you up now...and I can see why people want real folks to count on...

I do have a fear of players of this phrase "When the going get's tough.. the tough get going" and this title.
I will not exclude anyone from a pt (if I'm a leader) but... fear that this will cause people who advertise going for this title... to get a bad rap pretty quick, just like grabbing an War/Monk and in the back of your mind, hope there not going to shout at the monk and aggro too much until you see them play for a bit.
Also not the explorer title and the no death title may never both get to 100%, you die in the "training" area aka 1.x% of the cantha map..

Why don't they make this a No Death Streak? I've got 4 characters, all with deaths already, so that's 4 characters already that can't get this title.. That's pretty lame.

Well i for one wont be inviting any *survivor* into my PuGs.
I think theres good in this as well, it helps me to aviod rage quitters in PuG groups but i feel sorry for those who are truely skilled in the game being labelled together with rage quiters.

Anyway, I was under the impression that the title is achieved from just getting the XP in a 0 death streak, and not necesarrily in one instance/session. Seems to make more sense anyway.

If you mean when instructor Ng has you all die to demonstrate the res shrine, that doesn't show up on /deaths.

Is this really going from 0 to 140,600 exp without dying, or is it simply gaining 140,600 exp without dying? There's a big difference between the two. I find it hard to believe that it would be the first one.
Either way, I question the need for a title like this. I'm sure it'll cause far too much harm.

I haven't fought in Cantha with anything but henchies. And I didn't even know about 'Survivor'. OH, and I have died plenty of times.
Yes, this will result in many 'survivorquit' instances.

I can confirm that that death is NOT counted. I went through that, died, and still have 0 deaths.

It's going from 0-140k without dying. The level after that is 587,500k without dying.

1. You have one shot at getting hit. It's not a winstreak. It's playing with 0 deaths. If you die once you will never be able to get it. The title started showing up at 10k xp on my new ranger but didn't even start to show on my warrior after 40k xp. Can't remember who, but someone claimed they had farmed 80k xp to check it and there was no sign of the title yet.
2. My new Canthan ranger is a proud survivor (360k xp right now) and though I am playing more carefull then I would normally play I would never leave a party, ever. I'm not even keen on mapping out when I'm using henchies... I've encountered my share of near-party wipes but so far I've had only one occasion in which I was forced to map out (doing Seabed with henchies, they all died one by one and even my res sig couldn't save the day).
I can see how this title might affect pugs and although I haven't had the misery of people 'zoning out' this is a potential threath indeed. How bad it is right now, I cannot tell.
3. Whether or not someone is showing his 'survivor' title is not a reliable source of info whether they will leave when the going gets though. The chicken-survivors can act just as every other pugger, not warn you about their aspiration to be a survivor and STILL leave you hanging. Creating a decent PUG is still better done through talking then through looking at titles.
4. Getting a survivor title is dead easy. If you do all the quests on Shing Jae you're already lvl 18. A couple of skill caps and a couple of quests later and you have the title. Getting to 'indomitable survivor' (580k xp) is something worth noting. Survivor is nothing really.
5. As a survivor I'm not keen on joining pugs. Not because I would map out but mainly because I wouldn't wanna be surprised by a bad monk myself. The healer henchies might not be very good, at least I know what they're capable off and more importantly: what they're not capable off.
6. Don't diss all survivors though. Surviving is not easy and requires you to pay attention all the time. If you're unable to pull properly, to manage your aggro, identify the right targets, keep an eye out on your monks and know just what your party can and cannot take you'll fail sooner or later, whether you map out or not.

Actually, Survivor IS something if you try to get it in Tyria. I'm sure it's easy to get in Cantha with all this talk of level 15+ by the time you're out of the noob area. But in the original campaign, it is hard.
