Canadian Bacon is far too cool to be at fault here. Clearly, Karen is a shitcock (with a dash of insecurity and a side of arrogance, to boot).

Hmmmm........Maybe you should marry Karen, have babies, get a job, pay bills, have a mid-life crisis, cheat on your wife with a younger woman, get the younger woman pregnant, and get a divorce so your wife gets custody of the kids and takes you for half of everything you've got!
Then you can come back on this forum to bitch about real life problems.
Otherwise, get over it and move. This is just a game. It's not real.
You seem to have problems with letting things go.
Take a deep breath.........now let it out.
Doesn't that feel better!

I really don't see the problem. The boss was right there, not like killing it would have delayed the group very much. "Hay guys, can we kill Tanzit so I can cap this, and maybe get some greens and even a nice morale boost". It's a win-win situation. O_o

If you gone with a oro farming group, you would have no problem kill Tanzit and getting the cap. I understand that some group don't like to waste time but you could have make up lies about not knowing where you going and get the cap at the same time. Like you said before, YOU didn't lead the group but someone else did. Guess other within the group has different objectives like you.

you did nothing wrong whatsoever. as long as you intended to stay and help the rest of the group finish the quest, you should be guilt free.
ive done the same in situations. while capping all the prophesies elites, i joined several "bonus only" groups for abbadons mouth (theres a few tough caps on route to the bonus). although i had already done the bonus, i fought with that group, capped along the way, and stuck around to help the group finish the bonus. i ended up doing the bonus 3 or 4 times for caps and mapping purposes, and the fact that my purpose for joining wasnt strictly to DO the bonus didnt change anything. as the above posted said, its a "win-win" stiuation - they got an experienced player for their group, i got my cap, and everyone ended up happy.
as others have said, its probably the monk's leaving that screwed up the group. and if i were you, id be really pissed that they couldnt be bothered to kill tanzit even though he was right there.

Well, I've gone on missions where I hoped to cap without telling anybody, but I never intended to ask them to go out of the way, or take down a group just for my cap. That was where you got into trouble.
I have gone on missions where I could see my cap group only a short distance away and kept my mouth shut. Better to come back with henchies than to ask for a favor.

Karen needs to chill. You shouldn't have mentioned the cap, or if you did, oh well. Tanzit is a regular occurance on the oro form. People usually do hit the chapel stairs and the dredge first. So.. my question is, why was tanzit being passed over? It sounds like the reason the monk left too, so apparently, karan was leading the group poorly anyhow.

Don't let it worry you. There ARE a few things to point out however:
1) You apparently joined an Oro QUEST group, not an Oro FARMING group. A farming group kills every boss anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered, but a questing group just wants to do the Oro quest and get out. I could see how they might be upset at you wanting to kill a boss who didn't have anything to do with their quest.
2) Tanzit spawns at 1 of 9 places during Orozar, and sometimes doesn't spawn at all. It's random, so no one can lead you right to him, except by luck.
3) A better, easier and faster place to cap Tanzit is during Final Assault. During FA, he will be one of the first bosses you encounter, and if he isn't there, then he didn't spawn....meaning restart the mission right away.
