Glad to see that Anet cares about other classes...
My main character is a ritualist. He is my best character and I got my first ever set of 15k for him. I enjoy playing him and hoped that when nightfall came out I would be able to adventure with him and get new skills/armor...
This seems to be untrue. I feel like I am FORCED to make a core character just so I can actually get new armor/skills available in upcoming chapters.
Great to see that anet cares about the other classes!

We will have to wait and see what happens, not much information is out about Nightfall. So time will tell.

Hmm sorry I don't fully understand what this thread means. Are you saying that new content will be unavailable for Canthan characters ?

Huh...what?
I don't know anything about anything you just said...but based on common sense alone I tend to think that Factions characters will be able to go to Nightfall just as they can travel to Prophesies. I know some of you ANet haters might try to answer this question, but why would ANet intentionally antagonize the player base by disallowing Factions characters from going to Nightfall?
Unless of course I am wrong, in which case nobody will remember as they'll be getting ready to torch ANet HQ anyways.

Other topics and posts have stated that it is likely that there will be no new content available for canthan specific characters in Nightfall.
This is bullshit

Not really. Sure they said in some interviews, but they didn't make it well known to most of their customers. They suck at communication, obviously. They should have stated it in their Faction's game manual or on the back of the box.

Honestly, all your Canthan characters have to do to enjoy some (but not all) of the benefits of Nightfall is have a secondary in one of the core classes. You'll have access to all of the new skills (albeit the primary attribute ones will be weak). The only downfall, IMO, is not having access to new armors, but the armors in Factions, IMO, offer plentiful choices.
That, and to think that you may be one of the only Ritualists or Assassins roaming the streets of Nightfall is a nice little boon.

Ritualists and Assassins are Factions-only classes. You can't buy them armor or skills in Tyria. It makes sense that you will not be able to buy new armor or skills in <wherever Nightfall will take place>.
Not bullshit... logic.
You say you're having a great time with your ritualist. Great. Have a great time, and enjoy. He's not going to LOSE any skills or armor when Nightfall comes out, you know.

The radio inteview that the core classes are always going be supported and the campaign classes are far more specilized and harder to play then core. He then dodge what degree of support Rit & Sin will get for example in latter chapters.
I will assume some token new skills, new armor types aka like how the hp armor was added, add the new x type armor.. and that will be about it. Monster grouping / skills / levels will be designed for the new "core" + speciality for campaign.. so depending on what the specilized job is designed to do and the type of area it will ... results will vary.

Here's the best way to look at what your Canthan characters will expect in Nightfall:
Ask yourself this, what does your Canthan character have access to in Tyria? You will find the same in Nightfall.

Im sorry to say this but if your are going to say "anet says" please include the post where anet says that. I am getting sick and tired of people saying "anet says" only to find out anet did not say.

if you apply another logic, you can speculate that when tyria was made, there were no ritualists - and no one expected them to go back and add new armor types to an old game. but when nightfall is made, there ARE ritualists and assassins. i see no reason why we should not expect at least one new armor skin for every profession.

I agree with Talon One.
It's too soon folks!
We will just have to wait and see what really happens for Rits and Sins. I would expect to see some new skills or elites for Rits and Sins just for the sake of maintaining balance across all classes. It's very possible to expect weapon drops for Rits and Sin, so probably new weapon skins for sure.
Edit: If you really want new Rit or Sin armor that bad, then maybe save up for Fow armor? That should keep you busy for a while!

TBH, I wouldn't get my hopes up. I believe* it was ANet's intention to make A and Rt as Factions-only professions, only to be created in Cantha, and therefore only supported in Cantha. They will need to add new skills, armor, etc. for A and Rt eventually to keep the owners of those professions happy, and to keep those profs from getting too stale, but I wouldn't count on new armor or skills coming in Nightfall. My inclination is to think that a future chapter that doesn't add professions will be a return to Cantha of sorts, with a full new storyline and a fresh book of skills for A and Rt. But that won't be Nightfall.
* My residual feeling based on my memory of the info given us before Factions was released.
Frankly, if they had wanted to make A or Rt armor available in Tyria, it wouldn't have been that hard. Easier, for certain, than the Auction House system or reconnects we've been promised for so long. But they didn't. They could've made some A and Rt skills available for sale in Tyria without issue as well, but they didn't. (Adding bosses/enemies with A or Rt profession would've pretty much broken their concept of keeping Tyria and Cantha as independent chapters) Therefore, I'm not getting my hopes/expectations up for Nightfall. The devs will find ways to keep A and Rt viable as PvP professions for the niches they currently occupy, perhaps even carving new niches for themselves, but that will be through the innovation of the players, and not through the introduction of new skills.
Of course, I could be wrong, and I would be pleasantly surprised if I was, but I don't see A and Rt improvements as immediately imminent.

WAIT...
where are quotes from Anet saying any of this...
if te characters cant go over that is saying the you can only create the 2 new classes and that is all there will be in nightfall... um logic says that wont work the other classes are needed what are their going to be groups of 8 players only being dervish and paragons... i dont think so...
no new skins for existing classes.... again where are the quotes where they say that... and for reference the core classes of prophacies got new skins in factions... just assuming they follow that practice there will be new skins of armor for each classs...
but then again lets not assume... big frigan woop no new skins the color or skin of your armor doesn't make it any more or less effective...
skilll... again this is hard to believe... they need new skills for core classes to counterbalance new skills they are introducing... this is after all a PvP based game which insists on balance between the classes...
people need to stop going off the wall on rumors when you have quotes to post from anet then you can start bitching...
until then stop the bitching and do more listening...
