Cos god forbid PvE would require actual skill.
OMG AoE got nerfed - I hate ANet.
Yea like Sorrows Furnace, 90% of Factions, and 'holiday' events are not catering to PvE masses.
And PvPers paid the same $50% as you did.

Thank you so much for doing this and not leaving the ladder locked for a month like last season! Thank you very much Anet!

I second that!
this is 100 times better than leaving the ladder locked like last time.
just to beat a horse which has been dead since the board started, you people complaining about how much Anet hates pve or doesn't care about it need to relax a bit. seriously
three cheers for open ladder!

For anyone who has taken time out of their griffon farming to read this:
Locked ladder makes gvg barely playable. Unlocking the ladder simply places a reasonable level of competition back into gvg making it worth playing again. I doubt it took too much of the programmers' time to unlock the ladder and up the faction for this weekend. I'm sure they are already back working hard on your new greens or events or whogivesa****. The pvp community on the otherhand, greatly appreciates being able to play the game again. You can go back to your griffons or urgoz run now and come back when there is a thread about the new blue hippo pet thats coming out.
thanks open ladder is always a +++ and the rewards sound pretty cool.

Can you please come up with something for the rest of us to have at least a chance at winning some pins? Heck I would take just a random lottery where all game accounts had one shot at it. At least then my odds will have improved from 0 to 1 in 2 million.

Why should subpar play be rewarded?

Heh.. Not everyone thinks the same. Anet most likely has a goal, and has done ever since GW started that looks to be more pvp based than it is pve. So thats whay their main focus will be!
pve isn't being ignored, maybe its just a wealth of resentment from pve players who just simply aren't good at pvp?
This is meant to be a "Fun" season, if you don't find fun in pvp, go play pve! Have fun with your guild or whatever, and if you can't have fun in both pvp or pve then why even play?
Im certainly going to have fun.

Ok, what do ppl do when they want to gvg and nobody in the guild does ??? I would
like hear the options, I want to learn gvg, but it always seems like our guild is going
in ten different directions at once, so we have not done any yet.
take care

Sorry about posting so much today, but I am bored at work and want to get home,
pop open a cold-one and play GW, one more question, someone earlier in this thread
mentioned there are sponsored teams out there, is this true ?? and would this not
violate the rules in some form ??? If you are not suppose to buy gold or whatever
from places like ebay, then how is giving sponorship credible, if I have to work 40
hours a week then when I play the game I cannot recieve any outside "assistance"
or risk getting my account banned, then how is it right for someone to receive
"sponsorship", I probably got my helm on backwards again, but am curious.
thx

No it means that Anet can read a forum. People complain they make changes.
I like this because I hate fighting BS frozen ladder builds when preparing for the new season.

It made sense to have this 'fun' event, as there were a lot of people complaining about the guilds that made the top 100 in the weekend Open Event. This will be a month long, so there should be fewer people complaining this time around.

That's a completely different question; you're questioning the very existence of rewards themselves, whereas I'm asking, given that rewards for play exist, why they should be given to any other than those that earn them.

I don't care about any of the previously posted annoyances or problems but...
"Fun ladder"?
"Fun weekend"?
I want my tournamentnames hard, rough, bloody, with lots of sparkles.
- Victory Or DEATH, RU CHAMPIONSHIP (RU being runner up *g*)
- SUMMER OF SLAUGHTER DEATHMATCH LADDER EVENT(sorry southern hemisphere ='( )
- The PRE-LEIPTZICH SEASON OF BATTLE!
ANTHING but "fun season"
-_-

Now that the ladder is unlocked my alliance cant play fun gvgs anymore. We were all tired and just wanted to have fun so all 8 of us chose a premade char. All these wammos and the rest of the premades. We got rocked but oh was it so fun. No more of that it looks like. Got to get serious now
