New Skills for Nightfall
After being a little disappointed with the new skills for Prophecy characters in Factions (weren't really new just old ones tweeked and renamed) I have started to wonder if the new skills in Nightfall will be original. I have started this thread in hopes of people coming up with some ideas for current classes (not the new Nightfall classes) that are both realistic and original. Have fun with it guys.

5 skills for every profession were duplicates of Prophecies' skills. All of the others were original.

well with the huge amount of skills it becomes difficult to find any place to be origanal. they end up being remixes of origanal that you chose or discard based off preferance.

No, the complaint was that some skill weren't available to Factions only players. So they duplicated them.

Giving a chapter specific skill a different name so you can have it in more than one chapter without having to have it in every chapter is a smart move, they can cycle through the different chapter specific skills, introduce a few new ones here and there, etc. This is what makes pvp without having every chapter possible.

Orin's Defense
WARRIOR

cost 5 Adrenalin
casting time Instant
Recycle none Adrenal based skill
Orin's Defense is a stance that allows you to evade 3/4 of all incoming attacks for 5-15 seconds.
Aggressive was Henna
(in the hope that Assasins get new skills)
Dagger Mastery
Cost 5 energy
Casting time instant
Recycle 4
This attack Skill does 1-16 damage and causes bleeding for 1-16 seconds. If Aggressive was Henna is evaded the attacker is knocked down.

Would be Elite if it existed.
All Warrior defense stances that arent elite all have: Huge Recharges, Short Durations, and Negative "end early" conditions like if you use a skill, or attack.

Not really
It’s basically the same as Gladiators defense except no damage and the cost being adrenalin not mana.

Glads isn't elite because it has Dmg...
Its elite because its basically the only Warrior stance that lasts a decent portion of its recharge without a negative sideeffect.
Bonetti's Defense: 8 Adrenaline (High), 10sec, ends if you use any skill
Defensive Stance: 45 Recharge, 20sec, ends if you use a skill
Deflect Arrows: 30sec, 18sec, ends if you hit with attack and only blocks arrows
Disciplined Stance: 45sec, 10sec, ends if you use adrenal skills
Protector's Defense: 45sec, 10sec, ends if you even move...
Shield Stance: 45sec, 18sec, have to have shield on and you move slower
Wary Stance: 45sec, 10sec, ends if you use a skill
Now:
Glads Defense: 30sec, 10sec, No Negative Effet.
See the difference? Thats right...The Sideeffect is missing.
ONLY reason its elite...
They'd change your skill there to be like 1...10 and have a 60s recharge to balance its no side effect if it isnt elite..
(BTW, Adrenal skills dont have recharges >_> Unless you worded it like "when you use this skill, it is disabled for 60 secs")

I think you are over reacting here just a bit.
The skill effect in the game IMO has a lot to do with recharge times. Also your failure to list the effects of thoes skills only helps my argument. You only show what you want to show and not the benifit of the skills themselves.
Bonnets is nice but I don't always need that 5 energy for blocking attacks for 8 adrenalin (high cost). You could make something simpler with less cost.
You also don't always need the damage for Gladiators Defense but the skill is still good. Id rather go with another Elite instead. How about the same skill with no dammage. You would argue that the same skill with no dammage is still Elite. Thats just plain rubbish.
Shield stance is nice with long lasting times but I think a simpler basic stance would be a nice addition to the game. It does not have to have an effect to be useful. Futhermore Shield stance requires a shield and assumes you have about 16 more armor. My skill does not make this assumption thats why its evade not block.
but its late and you bore me...
The thread reads what skills Id like to see, and id like to see the skills I posted... so go flame someone else.

I want a skill that makes your eyes glow blanc light o.0 or something that remains for a while with nice glow.. skills don't concern me.. if they are not gd 2 use u need other skill to make it better? I mean isn't that GW? Builds Made by brain ? Or would i be spoiling GW if I say that I wan't nicer glow of skills ? "Cooler Glow ? More Waving ROCKS?"

i like the fact u named the warrior skill after yourself
but mostly i hope that anet puts in some new animations for skills, because half the fun in using skils in seeing there (sometimes) kick arse animation.
i am talking about shockwave here and genreallay most ele skills look really cool.

I want the m to fix the animation you get for running around while under the effects of sugar rush... its like im holding an invisible weapon ond offhand.
Mesmer skills...
Shatter Dreams 10E, 2C, 20R
Domination. Hex Spell. Hex one random spell of target foe. For 3...12 seconds, if that foe uses that particular spell, that spell is interrupted and target foe is knocked down.
Fata Morgana 15E, 2C, 15R
Illusion. Illusion Spell. Create an illusion at your location. For 5...20 seconds, all allies in the area have a 33% chance to ignore elemental damage. You lose 4...2 energy for each elemental damage ignored by party members this way or Fata Morgana ends.
(This following one I came up with because I didn't like how the inspiration line didn't properly fit it's definition of Inspiring his/her allies)
Mantra of Generosity
Inspiration Magic. Enchantment Spell. For 10 Seconds, the next Inspiration Magic stance you use is spread across all nearby allies around you. This effect ends for all allies if one ally uses a stance skill.

There's a little something called 'Core Skills' they could have used.
It wasn't that reason alone, supposedly it afforded new tactical opportunities.
Which I suppose it has for better or for worse but in general I'm not a fan.
Nightfall will probably dupe other skills, hopefully not those already duped tho.
