I don't think they will, I suspect there goal is to get the ability to buy a slot up in running and make a bit of cash right before the pre-view event.
They fact there keeping the programmers in 80 degree weather indoors (see other post from Alex) to get fixed asap may be a sign they went it running before the event.

i dunno if its mentioned, but earlier today when i downloaded the first stem of the PvP weekend streams.....i was making room for a PvP character WHEN.......suddenly at the character select screen.....at the top right i had a "Guild Wars Store" logo with a lil shinto looking shrine behind it ( possibly factions) ...this was about 12pm-2pm ...i clicked on it...a connect box would come out, and say could not connect....4 hrs later...cuz i decided to take a break from it....its now gone O_o ... i dont have any screenies.. " cuz im a idiot" but i think it comfirms the buying of additional slots at or beggining of this weekends preview event

I hope we get to buy a slot before the event too. (hint hint anet)
But it says one the website that there will be a profession changer there so our other characters can have a secondary in the new classes.

actually it says "To make testing of the new professions even simpler, secondary profession changers will be available throughout the duration of the event. These special characters will allow existing players to change their pvp character's secondary profession without having to re-create them if they so choose.

In reply to the OP, I'm pretty sure gaile said that we most likely will, but she can't say for sure because nothing (exept the two new classes) is "official" yet.
And I'm pretty sure they will *try* to release the option to buy character slots soon. They already put up the store to buy them for about an hourish (At least it was up for an hour after I logged on, and then they updated and took it away. I have no clue how long it was accually up) and then removed it due to so many people trying to access it and a bug, so I bet they want to put it up in time for the event.

guess what? I bought a slot before the store was taken down. It IS $9.99 which came to about $10.81 in Texas (not sure what tax is where you live)
Screenshot of bank statement. Pending because it takes chase a few days to finish transactions

Ok this solves the character slots problem, but how about the real issue of no additional storage!!! I have two copies of Prophecies which are both merged with Factions, so I have 11 characters with 1 slot open with only those two small storage areas... when will this be addressed? Both of my storage areas are filled one with weapons and additional sets of armor (mm/ss) (healer/smiter) and so on, the other with materials which are now stackable (thank you!!!!).
So with the addition of the two new slots for merging acounts with Nightfall, I think its only fair that the triple merge accounts get extra storage spaces.
