You just need to chill man, first, if you dont like how they look, dont play as them, make another character and kill all teh dervish's you see
second, just like with factions, they do a pvp event first and then a pve event, also some of the new pvp maps are based off of nightfall.

Wait for the PvE preview before you go and shoot your mouth off, bud.
After all this is just a FIRST PUBLIC BETA.
And if you do choose to leave GW because of this, GG and see ya later... Dont let the door hit your ass on the way out... It's an expensive door.

Wow!
Way to miss the entire point of a "PVP Preview TEST weekend"
Its all about testing the new classes and skills with a huge open beta, not about previewing content such as armors or PvE enviroment.
For that, wait till next Beta Event.
Its the same as it was with Factions. Have a small PvP preview first, then later have a large wild PvE weekend.

Wow, do you have no appreciation for where Anet is taking the series? If Nightfall is to be set in an African theme, thus the armor should match that theme..
I guess you could always go with the "original" response--if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it--

Someone doesn't understand the meaning of BETA. Everything you see this weekend may or may not be the final product. I personally love the look of the Dervish. Now the Paragon is a whole other story. Lack of skills is just like when you start a new character for the first time, you have to unlock any skills you would like to use. They are not all just given to you. This weekend is the PvP BETA, probably in a couple months when more of the PvE stuff is wrapped up, we will see a PvE BETA. They are doing the BETA stuff exactly the same way they did with Factions.
PS. Give it more of a chance to sink in. Play some more so you can unlock some skills and play with your build.

Dervishes isn't something ANet pulled out of their butts - and real dervishes have huge skirts. These guys are actual, real, dervishes:
In other words: if you don't like huge skirts, you probably shouldn't be playing a dervish.

This whole "event" has been pretty pathetic from the get go and has not inspired me to buy Nightfall at all.
- No Preview of what the PvE enviornment will look like
- No Ability to make a custom D/P due to no skill choices
- Crappy looking Armor for Dervishes
- PvP crap only
- Unable to choose Female P or Male D.
Now the Dervish skills are looking interesting but if the characters continue to look so craptastic I won't be supporting Anet any more.
I play this game to have fun and to see a nice looking character, not some matron-granny-skirt wearing "is there a character under all that cloth" character.
Here's a Hint Anet. Make different armor types for ALL tastes.
- Sexy armor
- Functional looking armor
- Modest armor
You'll cater to way more people that way.
Oh and Mods I have every right to tell Anet how I feel to improve a game so that I WILL BUY IT. So Leave my damn post alone.

First of all, there's going to be a PVE event coming up. Second, what do you mean no skill choices? Go to the priest of balth and unlock some. Third, just because you like your dervishes all naked doesn't mean their long skirts is bad armor. Seriously, if all you want in a game is "sexy armor" or armor that's revealing and not true to the theme, then you should just play an ele.

I'm sure no one will buy Nightfall because the devishes look like crap. Since you think they don't look good, I'm sure everyone else does too. I'm sure everyone else hates long skirts too since you hate them.

i agree that the female long skirt crap is well...CRAPPY ... we need to have sexy looking leg armor for dervish and ritualist too ... one of the big reasons people like to play online RPG games is to be able to craft great looking characters they can stare at while playing for hours ...

Yes, female Dervishes look crap because I won't get turned on by looking them and my daily wank sessions are ruined. Now I feel completely gay because robes cover too much. My ego is crushed and life has no meaning because I don't see half-naked female body 24/7

Whatever the third armor was, vs earth, i think... for female. I thought it was rather nice, even for generic pvp armor.

Surely, surely you caught the sarcasm... or, not.
Anyway, yeah it's a PvP BETA. We're only to be looking at the skills, and get a feel for what kind of characters are being introduced. Nothing more. Don't get yer panties in a bunch until you've played the next BETA, which should be based on the PvE part, which seems like your cup of tea.
Anet hasn't failed me in the design department, yet. I don't see them failing me with Nightfall, either.
