Default Dervish/Monk GvG Unlimited Energy Healer

You heard it here first folks! Dr Obvious brings you the next great healing build!!!
Remember the name. Dr Obvious. Let there be no disputes about the creator of this build.
We have a new healer build in town for Guild Wars. I think this build will alter the entire metagame we have going right now. Currently, energy is at a premium so teams are playing pressure builds because they know a monk cannot sustain good healing for large amount of time. This is over. Monks have low armor so they are hit very hard by melee. This is over. To regenerate your energy, you lose effectiveness. This is over.

The class/attributes setup:
Dervish/Monk
12 Mysticism
11 Earth
Everything else you can muster into Protection.

The skill setup:
Signet of Piety – 0E,1C,20R
Signet – Lose one enchantment. Target ally is healed for 107 health. If an enchantment is lost, this signet recharges immediately.

Pious Renewal – 5E, 0.25C, 3R
Enchantment Spell. Whener an enchantmen on your is lost, you gain 2 energy and 20 health.

Mirage Cloak – 10E, 0.25C, 5R
Enchantment Spell. For 10 seconds, you have a 50% chance to evade all incoming attacks. When this enchantment ends, all nearby foes are struck for 59 earth damage.

Reversal of Fortune – 5E, 0.25C, 2R
Enchantment spell. For 5 seconds, the next time target ally would take damage, up to 50 damage is negated and that ally is healed for this amount.

Protective Spirit – 10E, 0.25C, 5R
Enchantment Spell. For 15 seconds, target ally cannot take for than 10% maximum health in damage.

Mend Ailment – 5E, 0.25C, 4R
Remove one condition from target ally. That ally is healed for 41 health for each remaining condition.

Imbue Health – 10E, 0.25C, 10R
Target other ally is healed for 41% of your maximum health.

Holy Veil – 5E, 1C, 12R, -1 energy regen
Enchantment spell. While maintaining this enchantment, hexes cast on target ally take 100% longer to cast. When this enchantment ends, one hex is removed from ally.

The amazing part of this build is inherent in the Dervish’s mysticism attribute. Whenever you lose an enchantment, you gain energy equal to ½ your level of mysticism. In essence, every time I lose an enchantment, I gain 6 energy with this build. If I lose the Pious Renewal enchant, I gain 8 energy and 20 health. “Well that’s only when you lose enchant, you rely on cooldowns,” –you might say. Not true… my Signet of Piety allows ME to control when I gain my energy.

The basis for this build is using an instant, recastable signet that consumes an enchant. Using enchants that have small energy cost, benefits of themselves, and have small recast times allow for great spammability. The unlimited energy comes from the fact that chain casting Renewal+Signet gives you 8 energy whilst only costing 5 – this doesn’t even include the 4 pips of energy regen they have. So while traditional monks are taken out of the match to regen energy, this build has to spam heals to regain his. The only way to gain energy is through spamming heals.

This is viable in GvG since I am not sacrificing hex or condition removal more than what most monks currently bring to the table. Did I mention dervish has 70 armor and close to 650HP? Imbue health rocks with 650 hp. I have a ¼ cast time health that hits for close to 300hp every 10 seconds. Infuse Health? No need to sacrifice your own health! Play a Dervish/Monk

I understand that the single mesmer skill that disables signets will hurt this build, but honestly, while that is recharging, I can cast Imbue health + Reversal in a controlled manner for massive heals to keep my company alive. Enchant Removal! I tested in a skirmish verses a mesmer who brought Diversion, Shame, Backfire, and 4 enchant removals and a hammer warrior. I stayed at max energy the entire time. My health fluctuated but never got very low. I also tested verses an energy denial mesmer. He ran out of energy trying to drain me while I did not! By the way, my heal is a Signet so it cannot be diversioned! Also, some would say an interrupt would kill me. Maybe. If it’s a ranger, then my Mirage Cloak will help greatly verse that. If it is a mesmer, then I sure home he can keep up the interrupts indefinitely while sustaining energy.

In case you didn’t notice… this build uses NO ELITE SPELL. This allows great flexibility. In case you want to “upgrade” your conditions removal to Restore Condition, or your Hex Removal to something better. You could toss in a mysticism elite form.

nice thinking. It won't work tough for the same reason boon sig didn't get too popular.

You need to much time managing your energy in stead of healing.

Default nope

No!
Managing energy is healing. In this build, you gain energy from healing -therefore, managing energy comes as an afterthought. This build lets you spam heals throughout the entire fight. There is no direct energy management. This comes only as a side-effect of healing. Once again. To regain your energy, you do not stop healing. Faster healing means more energy.

This build is very diverse. I suggest many poeple try it out. (give a shout out tho)
For example. When someone else is getting hit, I use this combo...

prot spirit, renewal, signet, reversal, renewal, signet, reversal, signet... Through this combination, I have directly healed for 330 health. I have reversalled 3 attacks (60-300 damage), and completely eliminated a lot of life from prot spirit. If they get too low, tap em with imbue.

Another example. I am being hit.
All the same, but throw Mirage in there. If someone enters frenzy, you use signet to remove your Mirage and hit the frenzy for 118 damage. Enchant removal doesnt matter because I am putting so much enchant on and taking them off so fast it is tough for them to uncover my bottom enchant.

If there is a break in action, I cycle through my teamate prot-spiriting them, and then Renewal+Signet to get my energy to max. With prot spirit, it takes 10 hits to kill me... throw in reversals and random 107 point heals... good luck.

I am being hit and so it another.
prot-other, mirage, renewal (those 3 skills take 3/4 second to cast combined), then start the reversal+renewal+signet spamming.

If you can get this dervish-healer on the same team as a purposely missing sand shard dervisher... game over. Ever better if you find an antiwarrior with you. GAME OVER!

Dude, we must think alike!!!

I been working the dervish so far for the weekend... started witht he D/W pvp build, and went from there

Ya, instantly I put on Fortune and Protecitv - I sit there and tank like a champ.... What im trying to do is get some superior runes to lower my max HP (anyone else notice the high D hp level???)

Ive actually kept the Scythe Mastery level at its highest... and have kept Prot at a solid 9... I even was tanking well with Protection 8 last night.

I dont necesarily think its necessary to have THAT many healing spells on, myself... Ive used:

Protective Spirit (new invinci-monk woot take my dervish to UW woot)
The Dervish's Life Spell (gain armor, ench ends and you get 120+ health)
Reversal of Fortune (this spell is SOOO awesome... spam it spam it good)

Mostly due to unlocking reasons, I have kept on the Cripple, Blind, and Earth Spike Dervish enchants (just like the DW build)

Pious Assault keeps me in control

Ive also Unlocked the GRENTH avatar- just out of personal curiosity- but I think I will be switching to another when i get some more faction.

Also- ive been eyeing up Vow Of Silence- seems like it could enhance the defensive nature of this build.

My main focus is usually to try and aggro a warrior, this build works better if you are the target- you can just keep spamming Reversal and renewing your Protective Spirit indefinately... while your team starts pwning.

I dont know about you, but just in a few hours, Ive already gotten 1/4 way completed on my Gladiator Title due to all the flawless victories im getting.

HOW TO STOP A DERVISH:
Bring a mesmer- energy denial will shut down the Reversal of Fortune
Necros - Spiteful Spirit is still owning too.

this build is awesome for taking out RITS who spam spirits- spitis take double dmg from Earth... and most of the time spirits are stacked like 3 or 4 deep, which is good for the Scythe... 2 hits from Earth Dmg Scythe will PWN a spirit... take out the shelters etc and the Rit becomes useless.

Reversal of Fortune will be able to effectively heal from EVREY attack another dervish gives you... due to the slowness of the scythes.

here is my Bar: forgive me for not remembering the names yet

Blinding, Crippling, Earth Spike, Pious Strike, AVATAR, Dervish Life, Reversal of Fortuen, and Prot Spirit

Yes, I know i dont have a rez... and like I said.. I unlocked Grenth... but I think there is a better one for this build (dwayna i believe!) That or use Vow... gonna test it more after work.

hmm... Semms like we arent actually thinking alike.

My build is only a healer -not a dervish to keep himself alive to do damage. I heal others so they do damage. I carry a staff around for more energy (+5 energy, +20% enchant). Yours doesnt have any capacity to heal allies.

But for real, dervish is nice any way you want to play it -except if you exploit with that sand shards build.
