BUT IT FITS WITH THE THEME!! Everything else is gay about them, why can't the underwear be gay too?
And no, I won't be making a female to oogle at. I for one believe "oogling" is wrong no matter who's doing it, which is why I've made all male characters even though some look much worse than the female version (warriors and monks for example).
The point is, with ALL classes, there's some choice, with paragons it seems you're stuck. At least we're trying to make sure that we are given the choice once the actual game goes live.

Considering the general rule I've noticed is the higher the armour rating on the female characters, the less covered they are. Let alone, all the female rangers and ele are REALLY busty depending on their outfits. And let's not leave out the jiggle when an ele dances. OH, and the rit's look like they're pole dancers -- HAWT. lol.

/not signed - I think the armor looks really good. Fits the whole roman/greek/carthage look that north africa held at the time. I only wish that instead of chucking spears that magically re-appeared in their hand, they held it and meleed with it... much like the players ranger seem to have mystic arrows or an invisible quiver...

/not signed. As it stands, the male paragons have the coolest looking armor in the game. It might look kinda skimpy when your guys standing there on the character creation screen, but it looks badass when he's running around hucking spears at people.

I think the paragon armor is awesome. Honestly, if you are running around, chucking spears at people, you don't want to be in heavy armor weighing you down. And... "man skirt"? Long ago, MANY men wore skirts. Think about the cavemen. I'm not sure why it become "gay" for a man to wear a skirt. I really like the paragon because of the way they look.
And I assumed the Paragons were a sort of skirmisher. That's funny... because I was HOPING to god that the next new class would be a Skirmisher.
Skirmishers are infantry soldiers who are usually placed in a skirmish line to harass foes and protect their allies from similar attacks. They are usually lightly armed and lightly armored to move quickly across fields. In medieval war, Skirmishers carried ranged weapons of many sorts (bows, javelins, slings, etc.) and sometimes carried light shields. They aimed to disrupt their enemy's tactics by trying to tempt them into attacking too soon, or to delay their attack.

first of all, this topic is retarded on the account as, we have seen only 3 armors sets..... freaking once again, chill and shut up, enjoy event, wait for release/pve preview event(if there is going to be one- i assuming so)
(you know what comes after 1), the armor is fine, the only thing that doesnt fit with the spearman/gladiator/angel theme is the head armor piece... unless its going to be totally different in other armors, i would suggest there be some hallows?? come on now lol or winged headbands THAT WOULD BE SWEET.
im willing to bet there will be a winged armor set -that will be sick. anyways the headpieces we do see are pretty shit, rip offs of ele designs. but once again this is beta, not pve, its all about the pvp. so DONT WORRY BOUT it, that goes for myself as well. but i still had to add to the topic nontheless.

You know, I actually like the skirt the Paragon is wearing on guildwarsguru's home page. The other skirt is a different story; why did they make it cut up like that? And I still don't like the exposed tummy thing. I know gay guys who would think that was fruity.
But here's what I really don't get: why does an angelic being have to be effeminate? I've never imagined angels that way at all; of course they should be gorgeous, but they shouldn't look like fairies. It would have been so much better if ANet could have blended masculinity with beauty for the male Paragon.

do some of you people hear yourselves??? look at the paragon armor...now look at warriors gladiator armor. which one covers more? the paragon armor. now...paragons are the guardian angels of the elonian people or something like that right? when i think of an angel i think of a devine being wearing holy robes or something white and shiny, not some sort of dull bronze. if paragons are angels then they can bless their armor to give it more defence. thats probably what they did. yes the armor is derived from african/roman theme but they are angels, they gotta look divine and holy.

read that, while keeping in mind that angels are supposed to be genderless. things start to make sense.

Well said. It strikes me how people call for more realism while wanting less and less armour on female characters.
The only thing bothering me now is why Anet can't decide if the general theme is North-African or Central African or just Brooklyn?. Judging from the very few minutes I could enjoy in the PvP-Creating screen with Elonian Chars, the warriors are definitely Central-African, not to mention serving surprisingly accepted and pleasantly adopted stereotypes - in other words: "Yo, homie. Is that my altar you capped there?" *click click* *blamm* *blamm*
Then there are the Dervishes who are derived from Sufism, thus more Oriental than the "Punic" Paragon. At least they fit the NA theme. It might be a fantasy game but when the official word suggests a central theme, then please stick to it. It's not like we can't have another episode based on jungles and wide savannas.

Absolutely /NOT signed - and this thread is really just an oppening for stupid comments
The paragon armor is just about the only thing that makes me wanna buy Nightfall atm. It will also be my first and only male char if I do buy it, I like the armor that much (even though I laughed at those gilded nipples and the suggestive skirt cuts :P ) Plus, he's properly proportioned - not a boil on two short stumps like the W.
And to all those schmoes with a thing about fairies and gays - get over yourself! No-one said you HAVE to make a Paragon.

SIGNED. Call me homerphobic if you want. Say that because I'm homerphobic I may be latently homosexual. I don't care. its just not manly to me and I want my hero to look manly. Not like some Greek boy-lover. Now...a Spartan man-lover...I have no problem with though.
