Hey mal, i've seen alot of your posts on this and only have this to say to you: calm down. Its not like anet wouldn't nerf it. People exploited it, sucks because when theres a cheap way to get faction people will do it. Touch rangers are cheap but definitly have their counters, its just the average wammo is too busy bitching and starting petition threads here instead of realizing that maybe this fight isn't for him and to leave it to a mes or nec (but I thought mesmers were useless). The only counter for this was healing seed and hands, plus ss or price of failure.
I understand that you're mad but its over, no more 8 man d/a bullshit in HA or even GvG 0_0.

So there will now be 75-1 potentially useful skills in NF. The current form of the skill just doesn't make it enough of a threat to justify the skill slot. Hooray for panic nerfs.

This wasnt a nerf, it was a FIX. It was obviously supposed to be used with a scythe only.

well the skill is more useful now, for a scythe wielder, it increases your AoE radius to 'nearby' insted of adjacent... not bad.

How exactly is this better? In essence you're sacrificing quite a bit of your DPS for added range. The whole beauty of the build as I see it was that it made assassin's greatest weakness it's greatest advantage. Even though it was badly abused I can't agree with making it a scythe only skill the DPS just isn't worth the trouble. Unnecessary limiting of synergy between professions. The good folks at Anet chose the easy way rather than working solution IMO.

I didn't make the comparison of it being better than what it was before, but when a scythe misses, it has the guaruntee of doing a fixed 20 damage to foes upon an extended area of effect... I wasn't even comparing it to the sinner... that was just abused.
You're not sacrificing DPS if your original build was to use a scythe in the first place, which is where I was going with my first post.
oh.,.. sorry^^ when I meant that the skill was more useful, i meant in terms of its description.
The comment of unnecessary limiting of synergy between two professions when it comes to a single skill isn't even worth debating over. It's not like sand shards makes up the entire build... you have 7 other skills to use.

you obviousely know absolutely nothing about the term "skill balance". it was grossly broken and not working as intended, you HAD to see it coming.
its obvious the skill was intended to be used as an alternate source of damage when you are blinded, fighting against stances, or hexed, not as a main damage dealing tool. if you are blinded, or facing an enemy in a stance or under guardian, a dervish with an attack speed buff can still be quite a threat, and an extra enchant on you is only going to help you in the end, no? (except of course if someone is desecrating your enchants, but meh).
PS: cry more.

Heya Retribution,
Perhaps I come off as mad through text, but I assure, no anger on this side of the screen. I would say disappointment, irritation and some long sighs followed by a trip to the fridge for a re-fill. People who test for these things and find them, I have no problems with. I do that myself. I was already posting about it a couple hours after the even started, with images even. But the difference, the difference I don't like, is when you're in-game, and some kid with a name like "i own joo daggaarrraah!!!" is talking trash about how no one can beat his build, how he made it up, etc. That's the ridiculous part.
Yes, it is over.
It was fixed as another put it--and rightfully so!
Cheers!

Boon Prots are not over powered. They heal. Simple as.
Ever seen a Boon Prot live against equally decent builds or even sub-par builds that didn't involve running away because they had too much pressure and were going to break too far below to pick back up? And when I say that, I mean several characters wailing away on them. A standard healer can outheal the damage of a single character, no doubt about it in most cases. There are ways to shut them down real quick like.
Ever wonder why Thumpers were made? Who needs interrupt so much when it's easier just to prevent the casting in the first place, for a good 6+ seconds. Just long enough to totally cream that Boon Prot.
Boon Prot is powerful. More powerful than a standard healer. Nothing wrong with that. Just like an interupt ranger can be more powerful than a ranger with power shot and a charmed animal.

If anything were to be nerfed i would want it to be all monk healing and prot skills. Increase recharge, reduce healing, nerf boon even harder and so on, because with so many defensive proffesions coming in like rits and buff-paragons, eventually, everything is gonna go to VoD, and the fun will be out. Nerf iway? Like they havn't had theyr share of nerfs..

Boon Prot is popular, not imba. Yes, it is powerful and if you are the only monk, it will be better more than any other monk build. But if you fight as a team with 2+ monks ( like in HA or GvG), boon prot are not the best. As you can see in current GvG metagame, 2 boon prot are not popular and good as before. They have their own disadvantages.
And it is funny that you want a nerf after hearing someone complaining in RA. Please nerf touch rangers, nerf SS, nerf mesmers, they make us ( teh powerful wamo) not be able to own RA

Oh how wonderfully provocatively this has been written! First of all, you don't know me so don't go spouting crap on what I do or don't know. Maybe even take a few extra classes in text interpretation too. I never denied that the build was broken (it was) and I saw it coming. Yet the skill- although a bit overpowered- seemed too good to go to waste. The exploit was in the way GW handled dual attacks IMO (but heaven knows sins are gimped enough as it is and I don't wouldn't like to see them nerfed even more).
And what comes to the latter part of your post I'm sure that sins and maybe even warriors would appreciate the extra threat in the cases mentioned since those tend to be detrimental to their effectiveness. Or maybe the skill was broken in other ways and needed to be toned down but making it scythe only seemed somehow wrong. Moreover how many of the successful builds have relied on skill being used "the way they were intended to be used"? There are more ways to skin the cat you know.
I don't have high hopes of Anet changing it in the retail so just to let you know when I see creativity killed a little bit of me dies too.

Quick response to sand shard.....iam still waiting for my touchie response
This fast action of ANET just shows that they care more about selling this new game then making their established customers happy. The veteran players of GW have been ignored by ANET with their plees of nerfing previous mis-uses of professions like the touchie. Obviously the touchie was not meant to be created just like this ridiculous sand shard was never meant to be.
ANET you have how many current customers who are fed up with you? yeah that's what i thought just trying to hook some fresh ones.
