Perhaps they are missing the letter "A". It's Paragon, not Pargon.
OK, silly attempt at humor. But seriously, I remember reading that they are 'considered' Guardian Angels of the Elonian people, that doesn't mean they are actually Angels, just guardians. They're still human. At least, as far as I know.
Though they do seem quite good at setting themselves and others on fire. Human Combustion FTW!

I dont like their energy regen, I think they would be better with a 3 energy pip gain. Im playing one as a sujpport char with /Rit (i didnt take the custom P/Rt, i went P/Me and changed for the better skills) but ive feeling constantly drained, I see the energy management stuff, but cant be bothered to waste Balth faction on it.
Has anybody gotten those skills and seen if the energy is easier to manage? I mean I can see why Dervish is a 2 pip (or should be, I havnt checked) but I think Paragon should be 3 pip, since they arnt as good at mellee as Dervish, and have the ability, just not the means currently to be a very good support class

I unlocked quite a few skills and I have no issues with energy management.
Also, put points in leadership. Read what it does and how it works.
If you're off by yourself and have a high leadership, you're wasting your attributes. It's built around being in the fray with your team, and building off of them, while supporting them.
Your energy shouldn't be drained, unless you're doing a few of these things:
1 - Not near your team mates (leadership).
2 - Not putting points in leadership.
3 - Using all the highest costing chants/shouts.
4 - Also using energy based spear attacks.
If you're just using the pre-made, then it's probably because you're just casting everything, not standing near your team, and wondering why your energy is gone and nothing spectacular happens.
I run 3 echos on mine, and shout. I use adrenal attacks. I never run out of energy and I have constant +3 regen, condition removal and set people on fire around me every 5 seconds.
Look at your echos.
Look at your shouts.
Look what class you're combining with.
Don't feel like you have to use spear.
And get near your team mates.
Otherwise, use things that don't require energy and focus on your self.

Cooler casting animations.
Jumping like a bird to "Shout" is pretty silly.
Why can't he look like he's shouting, instead of just tip-toe dancing and flaping his wings to say "Watch out!" and "Incoming!"
(Insert lisp in the above)

Almost spewed tea all over the keyboard laughing!
That's one of the reasons I deleted the paragon in the training grounds.......doofus, truly doofus. I'd never follow a battle commander who looked and acted like he was auditioning for broadway!

paragons are pretty amazing, personally, i managed to heal 3 offensive characters (dmg rit, assasin, dervish) for 9 cons wins in RA as a P/W (my elite was "Charge!" rofl) without my energy going below 20 in the most extreme cases. Also, in case you guys havent noticed, the only possible ways to counter a paragon is some really serious energy denial, or spiteful spirit. There are absolutely no skills saying "Remove a shout/echo/chant from target foe/ally" and a lot of them cant even be interupted. No, Paragons are not angles at all, oh no, they are more like triangles, structurally sound.

Just remember, we don't have any anti-shout or shout dulling effects yet.
We've yet to see what skills other classes will get.
We've yet to see the rest of the current skills of the new classes.
Shouts are powerful, just like stances are powerful. They're not going to be countered right now. But if an entire character is based on unremovable chants, shouts, echos and stances.... don't you think things will change a little to give people options?
Think of this:
"Target is deaf and cannot hear shouts/chants."
"Target is muted and cannot use shouts/chants."
"I'm mute!"
casts *mend ailment*
"I'm deaf!"
"I'm deaf!"
"I'm deaf!"
casts *mend ailment*
"I'm blind!"
casts *mend ailment*
"I'm crippled!"
casts *mend ailment*
"My energy is 0 of 35"
... GG.

you see, the problem with adding counters to shouts is that they'd have to be added across all chapters, or it'd be totally unbalanced and unfair to people who don't buy NF... now think, how often have we seen new skills being addded to old chapters?

Even though, much like the Rit, Paragons have a bunch of skill types that cannot be countered adequately (Shouts, Chants, Echos), Paragons are nothing more than a ranged tactics warrior. I was very disappointed with the profession. I think ANet just went like "ok, lets make a melee caster type of character, and lets make a ranged fighter type of character." The first one came out pretty well- the Dervish is fun and interesting. Paragons however are borderline Amazon ala-Diablo characters with a very much more of the same old concept. Which, I guess, is fine, I mean Rit were the original thing about Factions, Assassins the classic thing; I don'ty see why they can't have Dervishes as the original stuff in Nightfall, and the Amazon thing as the classic stuff. Very likely in large teams Paragons will be the staple but the class seems to be lacking. It certainly is lacking to interest me. That's my 2c.
