Port 80 is commonly used for ftp and http hosting, so that's why a lot of things target it because it is a very common port to need open.

Other European card options (such as Maestro and Solo) are currently being worked on. We expect them to be available in early August, so it won't be long now. We're also investigating and working towards other options, and we'll certainly pass on any suggestions that arise from you guys and gals.
Edit: for those having trouble connecting, try selecting a different character and entering the store. My boss had the same problem earlier today, and it was solved by selecting a different character before attempting to enter the store. If this works for you, please let us know as it will help in tracking down the issue.

From what I've learned, you didn't do anything wrong, it's as if the line to the credit card authorization was busy. Just try it again.

I was trying to buy 2 character slots for a mate of mine, by logging in on his account. I was expecting the store to ask for a log in from Play NC again, but it just automatically logged in on my PlayNC account. So bottomline, once you logged into the store, you can't log out...
So I'm guessing I can't buy him any character slots, since the store is linked to my GW account? Why can't I just log out of the store?
What if more then 1 person uses the same PC to play GW on? Now only 1 can use the Store. Pretty stupid, if you ask me!

Hmm, now that I think of it, maybe he already logged in on his own PlayNC account, and everytime you log in on your own GW account you automatically log in to your own PlayNC store account? No way to be certain though, as there is absolutely NO indication which account is logged in

What the hell is the point of having a shop to buy extra slots if you can't bloody use it?
I logged in, went through all the motions, entered my card details and recieved this when I hit purchase.
Refused Code=1751104
So how the hell are we susposed to buy stuff if it refuses to work?

Are you sure you can't use debit card? Did it reject your debit card, or are you just looking for a debit card option? I'm asking because I was about to use my debit card right before I read this.
I say this because if you don't know, you can usually use your debit card where it says to fill out "Credit Card" info. I buy tickets off Fandango with my debit card all the time. A debit card is nearly the exact same thing as a credit except it's through your bank, so I don't see why there should be a problem.
I've bought shoes and Fandango tickets and bunch of other stuff too before online by filling out debit card info in the credit card place. The debit card should have all the info on it that it asks you for, The number, security code, expiration, and it should say what company handles your debit card too on the right side. Mine used to be Visa but they changed it to MasterCard a couple months ago.
So...after saying all that, Are debit card still a no?
EDIT: Oh and all these ppl getting errors, when you fill out your info are you just typing the numbers straight in like "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" or are you doing "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" with hyphens included or "XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX" with spaces between every four? which way did you input the number?

Well alex i did what you said and i found out that Characters made in Cantha are allowed to access the store..I tried to access the store with my Characters made in Tyria but it says it cannot complete the process and tells me to try again later.I also found out that if you try accessing the store with a Tyrian Character First then try accessing the store with a Canthan character you won't be able to connect to it,so you'll have to reset your Guild Wars Client. This is for Role-Playing and PvP chars. Oh by the way i play on the European Servers !
So Canthan = Accepted into the store
Tyrian = Please try again later and not accepted.
Hope i've been a big help.

Debit Cards Work
Hey um...Debit Cards work, I just bought a char slot. I had thought so...
Just fill out all the info it asks you for like your debit card was a credit card, it should have all the info on it, including what type of credit card company to list it under. ( If you're under 18 I think your guy's debit cards might be different so if that's the case maybe you're still screwed :/ )
Oh and of course if you're debit card company is one of those Euro ones like some ppl mentioned then I guess you're still screwed as well :/

Debit cards aren't like credit cards
If you wanted to make a return, the seller can credit your credit card with the amount you bought the item for, but debit cards can't do that since the seller directly takes the money from your bank. I was told this when I wanted to rent some sporting equipment and they didn't accept my debit card for a deposit.
Can anyone with credit knowledge confirm this?
As for the character slots, it shouldn't matter since you won't be returning the slots, so the debit cards should work like Mr. Moses said.
PS: A Cantha character didn't make my access into the store any easier. I was able to get into the store after a few tries while having my Tyria character selected.

Could people post which cards they've used so far. I think it'd be pretty useful if we knew exactly which cards work and which don't.
Also, when you enter the card number do you enter it ####-####-####-#### with the dashes, just as one big number or spaces instead of the dashes?

I've always done it as one whole number. I tried dashes and spaces to see if they were even possible, and GW won't let me.

My card is rejecting the transaction as potentially fraudulant... I called them 7 times so far and they assured me that it is not on their end... They are even flagging it as non fraudulant and it is still a no go.... Very annoying.

Dear Anet,
Could you please make my credit card not work like some of the others? I have an overwhelming desire to by a few more slots (have 8 now).
Thank you for your consideration.
