Guildies anti-WoW @.@
y does it seem like all ppl who play GW r anti WoW? i play both, i usually play 1 for a few months and switch to the other. im confident in saying they r equally great games. WoW gives the feeling of being in a real world, being able to have certain freedoms that arent available in GW. GW, on the other hand, has an awesome pick-up-n-play value, and u can log in for 15 minutes, and log out without any hesitation. for w/e reason meh fellow gw players hate WoW, plz explain to me. (p.s. i NEVER hear of any1 in WoW say "go play GW")

I don't know why. World of Warcraft is a perfectly great game. It has it's ups and downs, but so does Guild Wars.
I think it's becuase Guild Wars and World of Warcraft are such great sellers in the gaming market today. Therefore, people feel the need to give them a sense of competition although they are really not that similar at all.
Anyone who bashes World of Warcraft because it's World of Warcraft is a complete moron who can't think. Give a legitimate reason and maybe I'll listen. And no, cartoon graphics doesn't work.

I bought WoW, played 2 days out of the whole free month, uninstalled it. I have friends who played it but monthly pays, cartoonish looks, HUGE pve environment, running to your corpse when dead, easily lost, list goes on and on.

See, it's just a matter of play style. Some people like it, some people don't.

Monthly Fee's sux and so does handing Faction over to boost some guilds fragile ego. Fortunately handing faction over is an option.

I know why I (and some other people I know that play guild wars) don't like WoW. Its because of the evil monthly fee. My friends and I don't belive in paying for a game to install it and then get to pay monthly to accually pay it. Plus I've heard things that just sound dumb like when you die you become a ghost and get to run back to your corpse. Why would anyone put that in a game. It sure sounds pointless and not at all fun to get to run to your corpse everytime you die. Plus I've seen the graphics and, lets just say I like the GW graphics a lot more.
As for the people in WoW that never say "go play GW", I have friends who play that and they won't touch GW just because it doesn't have a monthly fee so they think that it isn't a good quality game that is fun (how they came to that conclusion I will never know...).
Sorta wierd how the community of GW says go play WOW, yet the community of the WoW doesn't say go play GW. Just wierd.

Well, even if a game has a monthly fee, by no means does it "suck", as many Guild Wars players have referred to World of Warcraft as. There's a reason why they (Blizzard) charge a monthly fee, the amount of strain the game takes on the server is exceptionally large because of it's open environment.
The community in World of Warcraft is a very respectable community, to be honest. Sure, they can bash Guild Wars at time, but it doesn't get out of hand too often when compared to when some of the players in these forums go berserk.

I tried WoW. Didn't like it, didn't go back. It was simply not for me. It's a perfectly fine game, although I've lost a few GW friends to it.
What I don't like is when people post about how they'd like things added to GW, "because WoW has it". Hey, if you want that (mounts or fishing) go play that game. If every game had the same things, what would be the point of playing a different game?

Why do people try to add World of Warcraft features through suggestion? My guess is that they want to play World of Warcraft without paying for it.

World of Warcraft is a perfectly fine game. I loved it, personally. But the choices you make reflect the way you play- and some people in GW just might as well not like WoW- sometimes it *does* seem like an ongoing competition between the two- but its pointless. For me- I played GW for awhile; heard about WoW- went to it for 5 months. Realized it was WAY too time consuming (guilds there [if they wanna go somewhere] want you to sacrifice your time to be there for every end-game raid) So- that was the end of WoW for me, and now I'm back to good old GW. :]
/end of gaming story.
lol.

Agreed, instead of saying GW needs to be WoW just play WoW, that's what you want anyway.

I think the reason you will see a lot of people that play Guild Wars not liking WoW is because of the fact that one of the reasons they PLAY Guild Wars is because games like WoW aren't their cup of tea. It's like sour and sweet. Some people don't like sour because sweet tastes better to them... Wow is good... VERY well made. It does what it tries to do perfectly. Some people just aren't going to like the way it plays - thus, they play Guild Wars, and don't like WoW. The whole "LOL LOOSER GO BACK 2 PLAI WOW" thing is ignorance. Whenever someone takes something from WoW as a suggestion for GW, a lot of people are like, "This isn't WoW." Truth is, there are things, like the auction house for example, or guild customization (as I hear, anyways) that really could help GW.

People do need to realize that Guild Wars and World of Warcraft are two completely different games. If I were to choose a way of defining each one with one acronym each, I would use: PvP vs PvE.
Honestly, that's what each game is based on, and if people can't get their heads over it, then I don't know what can. The two games shine in their own department, and you can't tell someone off just because they like a different style of play.
Okay, so you don't like the level cap in Guild Wars. People will tell you to go play World of Warcraft, which makes sense in a way, but you really shouldn't pick World of Warcraft as the target game instantly.
In order to make a fair comparison, the two games would need to be the same in basics. Guild Wars and World of Warcraft are not.

I think WoW is the target game because as far as pay2play games go, I think it's the best.

So, then when people are complaining about Guild Wars and they get a response of "GO PLAY WOW", they actually mean: "Go play a better game"
Weird.
I still think that World of Warcraft should be left out of discussions when it comes to "flames"

I think there are many GW players who hate WoW because the games have extremely distinct differences in key areas despite being of a similar genre.
To be more specific: WoW = lots of grind. GW = less grind.
I think that alone makes lots of GW players hate WoW. The same way lots of WoW players hate GW.

Guild Wars isn't pay2play (in the monthly sense)...
I even if Guild Wars was pay2play, I'd still prefer Guild Wars.
