Sigh. This is the best PvE build (I've gotten Protector of Cantha with it, trust me. )

16 Death Magic
13 Soul Reaping

Rotting Flesh
Deathly Swarm
Blood of the Master
Aura of the Lich (high-corpse mission)/Flesh Golem (low-corpse mission)
Animate Bone Horror
Animate Bone Fiend
Well of Suffering
Ressurection Signet.

Now demolish everything, without that cruddy Fire Magic.

I'm not sure if this counts but if you kneel before the staque of lyssa when your country has favor, lyssa avatar pops up and you can pay her to get +10 energy.

Also you could scream from another nerco for BR but you might make your party get mad.

Why are so many people obsessed with Firestorm? It has to be the WORST PvE skill I know of. It deals tiny bits of damage, right before the enemy walks out of it. REALLY effective, a whole 60 damage from 15 energy and 3 seconds of casting.

A MM should stick to 2 attributes (usually), Death and Soul Reaping. You need high Death for the minions, and high Soul Reaping for the energy. Although, personally I like to have 16 Death Magic, 10 Soul Reaping, and 9 Healing Prayers.

One that's worked for me:

16 Death Magic
10 Soul Reaping
9 Healing Prayers

Animate Flesh Golem (elite)
Animate Bone Horror
Animate Bone Fiend
Animate Vampiric Horror / Deathly Swarm/Rotting Flesh
Verata's Aura (it still has its uses)
Blood of the Master
Heal Area
Ressurect

Equipment: Cabalist Armor (Scar Pattern)

My build works for self healing, so that you don't always need a monk to heal you, and can heal yourself AND your minions.

Original poster: a typical new player mistake. Maximum energy is irrelevant for most builds, it's the energy regen that matters. I did that too when I started playing. :P

This is also why energy storage is the weakest primary attribute in the game, and soul reaping is the strongest. (on their own, not considering the linked skils)

Wow, another person who realizes how retardedly broken rotting flesh is in PvE. That's a start.

Spiteful Spirit
Reckless Haste
Enfeeble
Desercrate Enchantments
Putrid Explosion
Rotting Flesh
Res Sig
(Cap Sig) <-- As I said, I only did PvE pretty much for capping, but there's about 20 useful skills you could put in here

16 Curse
11 Death
10 Soul Reaping.

Try this. If your warrior is not retarded* and you don't need minions to do the tanking, this build would do a lot more damage than 10 fiends plinking at a target. I didn't get protector of cantha with it, but I capped every elite with henches without deaths except on overpowered ele bosses.

*Lukas and Seaguard Eli pass the IQ test, most pug wammos don't. Be warned.

Superior Death Magic and Soul Reaping rune. Lower maximum health -> reduce health sacrifice when spamming Blood of the Master. Good in PvE at least.

Wayward Wand, +5>50%, death recharge 20% / +5 energy weapon
Konrru's Fervor, +12, death magic +1 20%, +15 -1

Extra energy armor set.

Now you have maximum 60 energy. More room to fill Soul Reaping gains.

Death Magic 16
Soul Reaping 13
Healing Prayers 8

Animate Bone Fiend
Animate Vampiric Horror
Animate Flesh Golem [E]
Blood of the Master
Rotting Flesh
Heal Area / Karei's Healing Circle
Infuse Condition / Taste of Death / Consume Corpse / ...
Resurrection Chant

while I agree you should go pure mm as its awesome stuff, I think in pve it doesn't matter an ounce whether the build is 'perfect'. Do what you want aslong as it works, at least now you know where your energy is going

Its a damn shame you can't arcane echo that firestorm for double firestorm goodness, don't forget to bring a wammo with you so it can cast mending on both of you. Oh and everyone knows that the fds is the l337est weapon in the game and that everyone should use it... I beat the game 17squillion times so I know what i'm talking about........

Sorry, really couldn't resist myself.

I use a +15/-1 wand and focus and have a total of 74 energy to start with. Usually soul reaping at 13 is enough to keep my energy up even with only 2 pips of energy regen, if there's enough corpses.

if you want to go offensive use a Death skill and max death, then put some in soul (I use 12), then the rest in healing and protection.

Rotting flesh or deadly swarm can really put the hurt on. Healing spells will overcome the damage from vert sac, and rebirth when things go bad, with 12+ in soul I have more energy than I ever need.

It's actually better to have an SS and an MM, as opposed to one hybrid. Seriously, things die incredibly fast when you have one of each. Got Masters on the semi-difficult with that set-up (Arborstone and Tahnnakki)

For an SS without Death Magic, this is what I use:

16 Curses
11 Soul Reaping
9 Blood Magic

Awaken the Blood
Desecrate Enchantments
Defile Enchantments
Enfeeble
Parasitic Bond
Spiteful Spirit
Reckless Haste
Res Signet

(unfortunally, SS are rare, but so are MM, so I can't really choose in outposts. )

I only use a superior Death rune. All the rest are minor runes. Of course I can't have a rune for healing so it's a natural 7.

12 + 1 + 3 Death
8 + 1 Blood
8 + 1 Soul Reaping
7 Healing

I think I have one point left over.

You can check my math with this calculator:
http://gw.gamependium.com/tools/attributes/

*Note: it doesn't account for the +1 Death Scar on the head.

Anyway, I like Dark Bond in AB. Most Warriors make a bee-line straight for the MM. Then there's the Ele spikers that will get after you too. If I can kite the warrior I'm pretty much okay. My teammates and minions will get him/her. As for ele's... it's nice to have what would be a 120ish orb only do 30 to you. By the time the ele gets another one off my minions have almost killed him/her.

This build ins't perfect and I can be ganked by several warriors or assassins grouping on me. Degen is very effective too. Still, it works out well enough and I find that most AB teams I'm on appreciate the build.

I use 8-9 soul reaping a 10/10 ACCURSED staff (because I like the look) and I'm fine.

Just carry deathly swarm and/or death nova and use that as your damage. I either run a pure Necro MM or a N/E warder MM.

Build one.

Animate Flesh Golem
Death Nova
BoTM
Animate Bone Fiend
Animate Bone Horror
Taste Of Death
Deathly Swarm / Dark Bond / Whatever
Res Sig

N/E

Animate Flesh Golem
Death Nova
Animate Bone Fiend
Animate Bone Horror
Blood of the master (BoTM)
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Ward Against Melee
Res Sig

Actually, the FDS and IDS have both been very useful items in PvP ever since that Warrior "nerf". Because the two aren't physical damage, the absorbs no longer work on them, resulting in more damage when compared to the times prior to the update.

You told the trust through sarcasm? =/

Blood Renewal/Heal Area
Blood of the Master
Aura of the Lich (high-corpse mission)/Flesh Golem (low-corpse mission)

Animate Vamperic Horror

Aura of the lich+ Blood Renewal is godly for a MM, each BoTM Is only 30-40 damage, and blood renewal (about 30 sacrifice as well) will regen your health in no time, you can spam BoTM with no worries

More MM's need to be running this spell. Better than AotL, and can be combined with AotL for extra protection.

To the OP: Minions are your bread and butter, not Fire. Invest in SR and lose Fire and then you'll see your energy issues evaporate.

death: 16 + 4
soul rape: 9 + 2
blood magic: 8 + 2
healing: all the rest

build 1: Aura of the Lich / bone fiends / bone horror / vamp horror / dark bond / botm / heal area / well of suffer OR corpse explorsion if the area have lots of narrow spaces like kaineng city ( lots of corpses needed)

build 2 : flesh golem / bone horror / bone fiends / death nova / heal area / botm / heal breeze / taste of death (low corpses, take out blood and go full SR on this one)

build 3: flesh golem / bone horror / vamp horors / heal area / botm / rebirth / blood ritual / taste of death (barrage pet build)

------------------

These are the ones i use more (always n/mo), BUT i am always trying out new things like n/rt and n/me for a change (and as well experimenting on the n/mo itself).

PS: for me to use both MAJOR runes w/ out too much worries, i also get chest + leggs + gloves of +HP, so it gets balanced... the boots are still blodstained off course.

PS2: i gotta use 2 staffs. 1. req.8 blood w/ + energy + 20% enchant. /// 2. bortaks bone claw + offhand that gives +15 nrg + 1 death magic 20% (its a green....forgot the name now).

Later.
