Money, Bling Bling, 15k armor, gothic dual axe or whatever you called it in game. Is the life blood of every Guild Wars players. Without money, there won't be armor, without armor you die faster. Without money, meaning no weapons. My best advice go chests farming or try running peoples for profits. Rather than stand in one town and spam "I need 15k please give me now now now!!"

Chest running is a lottery that can only be enjoyed by extremely wealthy players. It's a great way to go bankrupt if you don't have enough money to sustain yourself between sellable chest drops.

As much as I hate to admit it, you do have to farm in order to make decent money in this game. There're many gold sinks in the game, such as 15k armor, chests, ale, etc. So if you do not want to farm, my suggestion would be being frugal with the money you do have. 1.5k is just as effective as 15k, and collector weapons are just as good (if not better than) rare gold ones. Like some guy/girl said a long time ago, a penny saved is a penny earned, applies in game just as well as it does in real life.

Be prepared to save up alot over time... I had to do that just to buy ONE PEICE of FoW!!! I didn't even finish the armour set I just bought what I thought looked good with it... just like in real life you gotta bite the bullet and go cheaper.

Making a million is hard, making another million past that is easy. Once you get a large amount, start trading. Trading makes the most money quickest, as long as you know what things are worth.

Until you have moeny to throw at buying keys then I would hold off chest runs!
I spent loads of money on keys and got nothing but rubbish out of the chests!
Start in some of the lower levels, soloing and move to a differnet level until you find a level you can still do, without dying lots but also drops decent amounts of gold and collector items.
With collector items it is a choice of, trade the items at merchant for their base value or trader them with collector for a weapon and then trade the weapon.
The salvage route, buy the 100g salvage kits and salvage most of your pick ups (unless they are worth more to sell straight to merchant!), sell the materials either to materials trader or to other players depends how long you want to hang around selling.
Thats how I started and in some cases how I work with my new characters! Even though I may have the money in storage, each of my new characters has to earn their money, for what they want. I guess I work a little different to most?
I don't have the best weapons but the ones I have do their job and I'm only 1 piece away from my first full set of Kurzick 15k armor, only missing my mask (Sin)
Pick up everything that drops 1g is 1g and a thousand of those soon add up to like a 1000g ;p
If you want to farm to make serious money then you need to invest more time in searching through the forums for the typical farm runs but also try revisiting some of the areas you have been to before and farm those. Going out solo in areas gives you the maximum chance of getting the drops but does not guarantee the drops! Adding henchies reduces your chances as they share the drop, so if you can't solo it then look at your build or go to a lower level area.
Trading route, as with all trade you should buy low and sell high, but in practice this is now getting harder. How do you get a fix on prices? You could look through the pc threads but I have found that the majority of prices are out of date, items they say are worth 20-30k are now selling at 10k
The reason for this is that the demand for more money is making people sell quickly, because they just have to have that piece of armor or that weapon they are saving up for.
A lot of traders don't actually name a price when they use the trade window they want you to whisp them! Personally, I think that puts a lot of people off asking how much, because they expect it to be expensive!
If you are farming you want to spend more time farming than being stood around in a town selling your stuff. Try and find a powerseller, who will buy your reasonable stuff from you on a regular basis. Let them do the trading you concentrate on your farming. Find what a particular trader trades in, one may only deal with gold items others may be materials. Add them to your friends list and give them a shout when you have something for them.
However you go about it, it will not happen overnight unless you drop onto some good luck and get some high level gold drops all of a sudden and each are worth 100k+ you only then have to find a buyer!
I've always been too kind! I give a lot of items away to guildies, even items that I know people have been selling at 20k (not the guildie I've given it to but seen them sold elsewhere in game)
Half the time my hopes are high, I have a set of gold oni daggers with a +30 hp mod on and lenghten enchants 19% and lengthen poison 33%, I read up on the selling price of the mods and hp was suggested as 20-30k and you think wow, cool, the weapon must be worth more than that then, since it is a req 8 as well! Wrong, I get told it is only worth 10k max!
If you are trading then you need to spend time in game looking at prices rather than on the forums!
Personally, I don't like farming but I do it because I need, no, I want the money for the items I want to buy. I don't like selling more than I don't like farming!
I'm probably just very unlucky, in our guild runs to FOW all the others had shard drops at least 2 times each! I got, skeletal limbs, spider legs and tons of glittering dust! I get a gold that is less than max damage a rubbish skin and the mods are so mixed no one would find a use for it, unless they were an earth ele smiting monk who also used water magic, sort of a mud monk!
I work on the principle that one day my luck will turn, and everything will drop for me! The problem will be, I will probably be in bed fast asleep! ;p
If money was easy to get then it would not be as much fun as deciding you want the new armor and then killing stuff to help you fund it.
