too true sirelricthemad, I hate people who insist if you don't have this exact build, with points distributed like that, then you can get lost. Just one of many reasons I don't play with anyone I don't already know now. One of my friends (a W/N/E/Me depending on where he is

) farms SF with 5man PUGS sometimes, and he was telling me one night about this 'decent leader' he got.

Apparently "he asked tanks what elite they used and if it wasn't one of three, they got kicked". I just said to him wtf? you think thats decent? Someone could have found a tank elite that beats the crud out of all others if used with the right skillset but noooooo. lol. No one cares if your build works, or if you're confident using it, you must use this skillset that you're not used to and therefore probably won't be able to time right!

Had a jerk experience last night, with poetic justice.

I've played many hundreds of hours of PvE, have unlocked the majority of Elites (across all professions), and recently decided to get involved in PvP. So I'm playing my Ranger and trying to get into a group at Tombs. I see someone advertising forming a Ranger Spike group and send a self-invite.

Someone (not the leader) asks "What Rank is Everyone?". I fess up and say bluntly "0", while the others say things like "3" or whatever. I go on to say "I'll just go now then", knowing where this discussion is going. But someone (the Jerk) takes the opportunity before I leave to say something like "U N00B". I was tempted to send a scathing retort, but held my tongue.

So this nice group (non Ranger spike) looking for a Ranger takes me in and takes the 2-3 minutes to explain what build they want from me. And we're off.

Everything is peachy - we're doing well and I'm earning my first few Fame points. In the second round of our second run I notice we're facing the Ranger spike group with the Jerk. (I recognized the leader name.) We rolled over them in a matter of minutes.

If only I could have remembered the Jerk's name and sent him a choice whisper....

Actually, not true. It's just that their parents have to open the accounts for them. (And be responsible for them.)

Of course, I didn't notice right away because I was in the back casting. Our wammo and other necro suddenly die and Im like "WTF" Then, there are minions all around me and I die. Mission failed because everyone left at the same time.

Man I hate that mission. 3rd failed run so far.

How's this for fun. we're going to the fissure of woe, and I'm a ranger. I decide to bring my pet (a spider) and be a beastmaster (mistress?) proper, and take 16 BM, attacks and so forth.

For those of you unfamiliar with Beast mastery, I basically turned myself into another warrior which doesn't get a death penalty. Call of Protection also gives my pet a -15 ((IRRC) Base armour reduction at 16 beast mastery. In layman's terms, it turns your pet into a tank. As for damage, a 16 BM with a level 20 pet does easily as much damage as a swordsman.

One warrior laughed when he found out I was a BM, calling me a n00b and an idiot and so forth.

Fast forward to the fissure. This very same person is invariably the first person to die (why do they INSIST on attacking with SS on them?) and my pet's rampaging. And he's still calling me a n00b. Got to the stage where the monks healed the pet over him.

Out of curiosity, do monsters cast ss on pets too? and if they do, how would you know?

if they did cast SS on the pets, you'd know if there was a Hex icon by their health bar. and if they were taking damage each time they attacked.

haha, that reminds me of all the W/mo jerks I 've met in CA.

Once i was on my lvl 17 mesmer, which of course as you know everyone loves in CA. On the map where you have to get the most kills some W/Mo 20 thinks he wants to make me his bitch and rushes me. All sorts of profanities start spouting out out him, noob, f*ing mesmer, low level noob, etc, etc. So I Empathy + Phantasm. He frenzies. Steal some hp then some energy. I'm bleeding w/ deep wound. Plague touch + plague touch + empathy, then chuckle as the w/mo beats himself to death on me. Then he calls me a stupid noob, and if we didn't have a monk he would have pwned me. Funny thing is that the monk never healed me once.

Of course as soon as the w/mo 20 is rezed he rushes me again. Our monk had just died. Empathy + Phantasm + Deep wound. He goes down even quicker and even has the nerve to try to run away in the end!

OMG, I HATE wars who run!
Once on my poison/interrupt ranger I was the last one left in arena, no more res sig. vs 2 wars, 1 w/ full hp, 1 w/ 1/4 hp. Poison + distract on heal sig + throw dirt + plague touch + whirling def. And the stupid name calling, ranger pwning Wars start running! Vampiric gaze ftw! I think the saddest part is my party was amazed/impressed when i won.

OMG, Stop running and take it like the chickensht warrior you are!

I won't even go into the w/mo/r's I've had to heal in UW who run away to behind the casters from the aatxes in order to use healing sig or troll ungent. sigh... I just stop healing them..

Yes, but as a general rule they don't bother with the pets; the ai appears to have them as a low priority.

Well - as for running - it can be really annoying.

I remember a team in Tombs that just stood there with their crappy builds and called us names because of "psychological warfare" I guess. We were a Ranger Spike team, so we didn't rush in. In fact, we've killed some guys that left the formation at regular intervals till around half of the other team had died at least once.

Finally they decided to attack us in some chaotic mess while we were pulling off our spikes.

In the end 2 members of the team were left (some W/Mos -.-) and started running away calling us names as we just stood there and said we wouldn't be interested in chasing them.

Well - we DID chase them in the end, cause we got a bit bored by the insults of the dead members and scored our flawless vicotry. And the other team laughed about us that we killed them in over 18 minutes...

Weeell - a flawless victory against a team that was hardly doing anything useful to win except for running REALLY has much to brag about. Sure - we might have rushed into them with spikes, but we were training a bit of coordination and PATIENCE with my guildmates. =)

Here a little while back I decided to start a second character. My husband and I both made new characters and got to post-seared ascalon. Well at this point my husband decided he wanted to start a monk so off he goes back to pre. Two of my friends and guildies had started new characters a little while before me and we decided to wait for my hubby to get to post and all of use go questing together. So the three of us are sitting in a rather deserted ascalon just talking and goofing around until hubby gets there. They are also females IRL and were all female characters. Im a mes/ele and they are both ele/monk. They both went afk to get something (they are sisters and in the same house). So theres three females all married having fun. This guy runs up to us and starts calling us f*gs. I asked him why he thought that.

Him: look at you your all gay you dumb noob your all chicks your so lame.
Me: umm thats because we really are females IRL.
Him: what ever f*g stfu dumb noob
Some random guy: dude they cant be f*gs if they are girls lmao
Him: whatever I know your really guys playing as girls dumb f*g
(he is standing right beside me as a female ele)
Me: umm ok so if were f*gs for being female chars....then what does that make you?
Random guy and his guildie: omg lmfao
Him: whatever f*gs (leaves town).

Another one Hubby and I were trying to get a group for FoW. I don't remember the exact team build but there was hubby w/mo me n/mo two healer monks another tank and i dont remember the rest. So off we go. The monk decides to run ahead and aggro everything then brings them all back imanaging to avoid our tanks (it looked like he did this on purpose) and takes them straight to the other monk myself and other ranged chars. The tanks type wtf and try to run to us asap to try to help.Now hes running around lost all aggro and then stands there doing nothing except yelling at the other monk to heal us. everyone of course dies and back in town he proceeds to cuse us out because no one did thier job the tanks didnt keep aggro off us and the other monk didnt heal us. So we decide to get a full team and try again (obviously we were replacing him and the few who left during the run out of frustration). He then tries to re-join our group and when we deny him he says to everyone not to join cause we all die too easly....

Last one

Again trying to get a group for FoW we made sure to specify FoW. All we needed was one more monk and whatever else we could find. So a monk self invites and we accepted just happened he had another monk with him were thinking cool jackpot this shouldnt be too bad. Were all discussing skills and making sure everyone knew what was going on and had the skills they wanted...all the sudden were all in UW going wtf. Both monks were 55s and started aggroing everything. We all knew what they were doing at this point and we were all very p*ssed. so of course people start to die...luckly i always have rebith on and start rezing asap. Somehow we all manage to kill what was there and survive. and off they go again but this time we all stayed back in the begining chamber. They ran headfirst into two nightmares and a few atexes. Enchants got removed and they both died. We all were all laughing at this point. So they start yelling at me to rez them and of course i refused...not long after they both left the game...we didnt do to good and died shortly after but at least we were able to beat them at their own game.

Beacons Perch. I just get there after completeing the Frost Gate mission. THere are the usual "LFR to Droks" and "running to Droks! Pay X at this point" and so forth.
All seems fine, until this guy jumps in.

"RUNNING TO DROKS! 7 MINTUES, GARUNTEED! 12k!"

I'm thinking, that sounds too fast for a run to droks plus WAY overcharging.
So I call him out on it. Other do so too. He types in a web address and tells us to go there and watch the video. Then he leaves.
I dont bother with the link. I wont take the risk of downloading something I dont want or seeing something I dont want to see.

This hapened in Lion's arch pvp arena yesterday

There was the mesmer girl on our team, along with me (warrior) and 2 necros. When I saw the girl emote the wolf (rank 6) emote before, I suspected one of those show-offy pvp people. Well I was right. She started off by calling one of the necros on a team retarded for wearing some christmas stuff. After we lost the match 10-11, she said that we all sucked and to never come back again. If that was eough, back at the arena entrance, she was once again showing off her wolf emote. These are the type of pvp people I really hate, the type who think losing one game means the end of the world, and that they're the best pvp guy ever.

Sometimes I wish we had moderators for towns/districts (PvE and PvP) to keep the jerks out. Anet should like designate the moderator positions to trustworthy and respected players in the game. They'll keep the place fun and positive. Leaving out all the negative players.

But I guess it's up to us and everyone else to help shut these a**holes up and leave everyone alone.

This has been mentioned in another thread, that people are starting to do this ... just so they don't have to pay entrance to UW. That's really tacky, so here's what you do (someone else suggested this, so I can't take full credit):

If you suspect that someone is going to be a 55 monk and try to take you for a ride, have anyone else in your party that's either monk primary or secondary bring Vital Blessing ... cast it on them if you see them acting up, +alot of HP, poof. there goes the 55 build. now more like the 200-300ish build, and "zomg i just got killed!". Sooooo dastardly
