Oh, yeah, speaking of the racial thing...
Comp Arena. My PvP ranger has dark skin and blonde hair. Why not? Anyway, this other ranger "person" comes up to me and says in local:
Jerk: "black people dont have blonde hair"
(this person, I presume, doesn't get out much)
Jerk: "you look gay"
Jerk emotes laughing, pointing, taunting right in front of me.
Me: "please go away"
Jerk continues to emote.
Me: "screenshots are easy to take, and Anet recognizes harassment even if you don't"
Passerby: "lol"
Jerk runs away.

I have a few stories I can share. First is about a N/R I met during a Nolani Misson/Bonus for my secondary Monk.
I'm standing in the Mission preperation area, normally I grab henchies for missions from Ascalon to Wilds and just do it that way, but I was feeling helpful so I decided to try my hand at Monking with real players. I called "Lvl 9 Mo/Me LFG Mission Only" and I get a response from a level 14 Necromancer. We get a group together, a ranger and a warrior joining us, and we begin to set out, then the Necro messages me asking if I would keep all of her Minions alive. I ask "don't you have Blood of the Master?" and they say they havne't gotten it yet, so I regretfully agree to attempt to heal the minions. I'm not that great at monking so I trade out orision of healing for heal area, figuring that I could just heal them easy like that.
We start the mission and immediatly our Ranger drops, so we have a 3 person group, but we start blasting away. We get to the bonus and pick up the book, then make the trek over to the Spirits of the Fogotten. By this time I'm having a real hard time trying to keep the minions alive so we agree that I just can't do this anymore and keep the team healed.
When we approach the Spirits I expect us to hold on for a second while the warrior grabs aggro and I spam heals on him. But rather, the Necro (Holding the Book BTW) rushes right in and tries to run through them all. I let her know that she is a grade A idiot for even attempting that.
Book = Slow Running + Spirits' Hamstring x16-20 = BAD THING.
They immediatly yell back that they have beaten the game 5 times and know how to do this bonus. They procedes to try to degrade me by saying that I wouldn't know how to do this mission if it weren't for her.
Then how do I know not to aggro the enemies when holding the book, for aggro is immediatly charged to you.
Anyway things degrade soon after, I announce that I won't res the necro (because at this time she is dead) And our Warrior/Monk (who couldn't tank at all and had built up a 45% DP) dies as well. I res the W/Mo and he rez's the Necro.
By the time we get to Rurik they are grabbing aggro and charging them to me, then announces that she won't res me. After the mission is over (sucessful only through the Warrior grabbing aggro and allowing the Necro to build a minon army) the Necro PM's me saying that if I weren't such a noob I would have known rushing in would have worked. They continue to bash me for not being able to heal and says multiple times that they have beaten the game 5 times.
At this point I'm fed up with them and I ignore them. It's just not worth the trouble to feed the fires of ignorance and idiocy.
My second story involves me at the Frost Gate mission. We make it up till the point where we get the bonus. We get to the cutscene but someone doesn't skip it, so after it's over we need to double back and grab the bonus mission. Our Warrior for some inexpliciable reason starts to bash the entire team for not skipping (though it said 5 of 6 skipped) My guildmate and myself announce that we had skipped it but he goes off the deep end "STFU U NOOB MONKS, I DIED CUZ U BOTH SUX"
While it was true he died ONCE, he was the only person in our group to die in the mission, and it was because he aggro'd an entire group of Ice Elementals and tried to solo them. On top of that, he was a level 16 W/R (We were all level 12 or lower) and he had Droks Armor (he announced this over team chat) I don't know where he got the idea that three level 10 monks (yes we had three monks for some reason) were the cause of his single solitary death. But he obviously had the idea that it was our fault.
After the mission was over I let him know that he sucked at tanking and offered to help him with his chracter (my main character was a W/N that I use to farm Desert but recently changed to W/Mo so I could be more effective in UW) but he shot it down immediatly and started bashing me and saying it was all my fault. I let him know that "Just because you have Droks armor, doesn't mean your balls will swing any lower child. Amazing that a higher level warrior can't survive in the Northern Shiverpeaks when he has top-level armor and three monks healing him"
He tells me that "that's just it, you guys can't heal. You all sucked"
and I respond with two simple questions.
"Why did nobody else die when they were all 5 levels lower than you, and How did you get Rez'd?"
After that I get "Jerk" is ingoring you.
I have to say this game is very mild mannered compaired to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory in terms of idiots and jerks. At least they can't track you down on GW and teamkill you.

This time, it was me
I broke my primary rule last night: I got frustrated with another player, then acted on that frustration.
I joined a PUG in Thirsty River as a healing monk. After we kill the first giant, the other monk, a lvl15, shares with us that he is "All smite". Fine, I thought. I could tell these guys were pretty new, or all-together new to this mission, and figured we probably wouldn't beat it. The problem started on the next giant. I was trying to keep everyone alive, from our "tanking nukers" to our young smite monk. The monk died.
Other Monk: OMG WHERES HEAL???
When I see something like this, I laugh, and generally don't respond at all. A moment goes by while the rest of the team cleans up the monsters. During this moment, and before the monsters are all dead:
Other Monk: Rez me
Other Monk: REZ
I broke my rule. I'm used to the occasional "rez me", or even "where's heal?", but for some reason everything was aligned just so; and I got ticked off. Here's the deal with Thirsty: I prefer to go as half of a two-monk healing/protecting team. Most PUG captains assume their monks are there to heal and protect. Generally, we forget to ask the question before we leave. So, when I saw my lvl15 smite monk playing poorly, then having the nerve to openly complain and demand instant resurrection, I snapped.
I didn't rez him. I didn't say anything. Finally, I answered his question ("Love [that's me] are you going to rez me?") with a "No.". Eventually someone else burned his signet on him. Some other players are openly complaining about his smiting, and asking him to heal. He can't, of course. I decided that I would no longer heal him, either.
After the first team of Forgotten is killed, he's asking for a rez again. Naturally the team's critical gaze falls on me. Finally, I broke my silence:
Me: He's a liability.
Other Monk: OMG, you [blah blah blah]
Other Monk: ru an idiot
Me: I am an idiot.
Other Monk: hahahaha ur an idiott
Me: Yes.
Other Monk: ru retarded?
Me: I am retarded.
Other Monk: [more keyboard laughter, etc.]
Other Monk: ru gay?
Me: I am very gay.
Other Monk: [wild keyboard laughter]
Other Monk: ru a porn star
Me: Nope.
I guess I'm not really an idiot, retarded, or gay. I don't know why I couldn't be a porn star, too. Anyway, by now the team is pretty irritated with me and they're imploring me to rez him. I just won't do it. Finally, someone burns his signet on him and we're on our way.
After the third boss is dead, we're back in the same situation.
Other Monk: were not going anywhere until you rez me
Me: That's okay; I can wait.
Now the insults are streaming back, but now the team isn't really imploring me, anymore. Instead, they're whispering me with compliments and advising me to not worry, that I'm doing a great job, that he's a jerk. I smile at these, but wonder why they wouldn't say it on the Team channel. I even got one of these from the group captain.
This time, I guess the team was out of signets because he couldn't be rezzed. We went on without him, and failed on the fifth boss. Meanwhile the dead monk is broadcasting the whole time with comments like "all she cares about is herself", "she doesn't care about you", and at the end, "see??" On returning to camp, the leader kicked the other monk out before I even spawned back. I apologized to the team for the bickering and wished them luck, and then I had to leave. I felt pretty bad about having to leave them like that, but it couldn't be helped.
I have mixed feelings about my conduct on this mission. I discovered a while ago that there generally is no point at criticizing other players, even if trying to offer the constructive kind. So I just don't do it. I silently heal the tanking elementalists and mesmers, secretly wish the other monk in the team would stop attacking the monsters (those pointless staff attacks draw aggro), and have faith that my reluctant tanks will eventually run from behind me to attack the monsters with the rest of the team.

No, they must have chose not to rez him either. Everytime you kill a boss, Rez Sig recharges. (Like all skills).
Don't feel guilty at all!

These ppl were not only jerks but very rude as well..here is what happened.
i was in a pug group for tombs no big i get in puts all the time and for the most part they are ok groups. well we got past the ghosts and the underworld. after the underworld it jumped us to broken tower(alter run) and we came across the BET guild or Black People. I have played against them before and they are a very good bunch of guys and a very good guild so i knew it would be a good fight. Well once the rest of my team noticed who we were fighting one of the members of my team said that someone should drop the "N" bomb. which is no way ok i don't care who you are. so another team member did in team chat not once but twice. well after we lost(which i knew we were going to do) another of my pug put in all chat that some "N"word again just owned us. I don't see this as right or even ok i do have 2 screed shots of this and would like to know how to report it to anet so something can be done.

Well had a similar kind of experience earlier today at Iron Mines. A guildy was having no end of trouble getting the mission done (he was monk) because people rather unfairly left the mission immediately after a "certain point" (not spoiling it for those who don't know the mission, everyone else will know what I mean)
I went over as my warrior to help him out, we joined some people and off we went to do the mission. Little did we realise we had a griefer ranger on the team who completely refused to listen and decided to run forward every opportunity he got and use his bow at point blank range on everything, getting himself killed at least once and messing up the coordination and generally inciting bad feeling (especially with my guildmate who was by this time frustrated from the previous leavers quitting in past attempts)
So the ranger dies again. I tell my guildy not to res him and say it in party chat too. Thanks to the mess the ranger created others start dying. Dead griefer is now wanting to be ressed, along with endearing comments like "res me or i will kill you!!!" and "i read it but i don't listen", in response to my "why do you keep running ahead when i've said not to over and over?"
At which point the monk is getting very irked, as am I, and I tell everyone in the group we should restart back in town since everything's a mess and I'd be willing to restart. I zoned back, most of the others rejoined my group, I made absolutely clear to everyone in the zone that we were doing the complete mission and no "certain point" quitters were welcome. We get a full team, and we go ahead and complete the whole mission with some quite good teamwork and complements all round, including after the mission
---
Another one which was some time ago, we had an all guild group (with room for one extra person) to take some newer members to Temple of Ages (at the time to help with a quest).
We meet up at Bergen Hot Springs, all in a group. One slot free so decide to take someone with us. Turns out to be a wa/mo rambo type. Now, I'm there with a few other level 20s but we decide to fight our way to help develop teamwork and stuff for our newer members (remember it's almost a full guild group except the "guest" we picked up at Bergen.
Things go well at first, but then we notice "guest" decides to run far ahead. Gets himself killed. Tells us we should run past i.e. he basically wants us to run him there. I explain to him (as I did at the start of the trek) that it was going to be going fighting, and made a not so obvious hint that he was in a "GUILD GROUP" implying we didn't have to take him but were nice enough to do so. We res him and continue, he runs ahead, which is completely not what I wanted to teach our new additions. So I tell monks not to heal him, let him die. His health starts going down, while he is miles ahead. He runs back, wondering why we're not helping him. It's explained again to him, at which point he decides to insult us calling us noobs etc. noob guild. He talks about how great his guild is, so I ask him why aren't any of his guildmates helping him then (of course none of them are online *chuckle*) and he goes on like this, oblivious to how completely dumb he's sounding.
He stands there, starts to dance and whatever chiding us to run him. We have a quick chat in Guild chat, and all zone back to Bergen, and left him there - went and fought our way to ToA, newer guildmates got a feel for more teamwork, jerk presumably had to zone back and try to find someone else not so "noob"

Ascalon Arena, everyone's twinked out of course.
A W/N6 with DF Gladiator goes, "Someone cast mending on me" Only monks in our party was an E/Mo and and I was Me/Mo (all illusion / inspiration).
Round begins, he Leroys and immediately dies. "REZ!! REZ!! REZ!!"
We win anyway with him dead. He goes, "Man I need Mending. You monks suck."

Mine isn't really that bad, but oh well.
I was doing Elona for the first time when we reached that point where you go around a corner and risk aggroing a few groups, with one having a boss. I had some small lag and ended up aggroing one of the three groups, which I think we were going to kill next anyway. I die because noone realizes I accidentally aggroed and then all of a sudden my entire team is yelling at me and saying they're not going to rez me etc. I then proceed to watch a bit longer and see the wa/mo go leroy and aggro a couple of groups. I think, "now he's going to be in the same boat as I am." And then I realize, noone said a thing! I seriously think it had something to do with the fact that I played a water ele pre-aoe change, and everyone hated me. So I then got some friends together and we owned it.

I was putting together one of my random teams for ther tombs (don't knock it, they normally get quite far) and there was one guy who kept swearing, I asked him to call but he wouldn't and despite our only tactic of monks first that we all agreed on he kept going for the eles. Suffice to say he died, and we did after 3 rounds. I kept him in the team as he made a good sacrifice for our excellent necro.
Also jerks who say the mesmer is doing no damage... tshhh. I normally reply with a witty: "They look fine, but they're being burnt internally!" To which if anyone gets the reference I get a round of applause.
The biggest jerks are people who don't have a sense of humour, like when your doing a quest and most of the team quote the simpons or futurama and someone goes: "STFU U n00bs!!" And leaves! Even though we've been saying since the beginning that its just for fun - some people do take this game too serieously.

Ah, Elona Reach...the very bane of existance for the want-to-be ascended...My very first healing monk (began as a smiter). This was my first actual mission as a healing monk with "real" players. Long story made short:
Ele in the group was playing like a tank (obviously derranged) rushing mob after mob. I did a fair job keeping party alive (and kinda healthy), but our nuker kept going Kamikazi. Second to the last Team (we took on monk boss) and noone paid attention to the timer...oh, dear, gods what have they done!? Multiple rebirths, rez sig, heal party....etc. and after getting down to the tank and me, I get the party back up...but the ele rushing into the fray instead of nuking from...oh, I don't know...anywhere else! The team leader (TL) starts in on me:
TL:"Yo, Bernie Mac, get back to work and res the nuker!"
Me:"?"
TL:"You heard me"
Me:"sec, outta mana"
I get the ele ressed, lose the necro...
TL: "c'mon Bernie..."
Get the party all up and we beat the boss. While we are resting before final team:
Me:"Why u keep callin me Bernie?"
TL:"Cause you're my RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO..."
Me:*consider leaving, but know we can finish...and I really want to finish. Not a word uttered(typed) by me until the end ...after I let the team leader and ele die, the rest of us finished the boss and his remaining support (we had a great tanker)...all I said was "I knew we could finish without them"

I just had two today!
Usually I play with my sister, or I take henchies, but two weeks ago, with the help of real players, I finally ascended, so I've been a little more open to the idea of teaming up with people. You get the right people, who are organized and can play their character well, going through these missions is like a hot knife through butter.
I finished up a quest I was doing today and then went tripping over the map to destinations I'd gone to before. I haven't done much PvP, so I went to an arena to play. I usually just put myself behind a rock or something, cast spells on whatever my teammates are hitting, and I emerge from said rock if I need to get up close and personal and hit something. I ended up on a PvP team with another Necro, and two Rangers, no tanks. I had no choice, really, but to spell cast and attack. This guy was literally murdering me. Murdering me! He was a tank, and he was beatin' the crap outta me. After I was dead, I resurrected, and was so lagged I couldn't move. By the time the lag went away, my health was down from 509 to 122, and I knew I was a goner. After I died, I laughed, and said to him "way to kill me when I'm lagging LOL" Must have angered him or something, because he kept me targeted and came at me again. After he killed me again, he said "I killed you again, just like you asked me to" *eyeball roll* I PMed him and said "get a grip, really, it's just a game" cuz I think some people forget at times!
Then, I go to Seeker's Passage, and asked if anyone knew where to go after that if you don't want to change professions. Someone told me I had to go to Elona, and I said "I've been there, did the mission." They said "You did all three missions?" and I'm thinking.... three? Then I said "Oh, those.. yeah I have already ascended." They replied "If you already ascended, why are you back here?" I said "because this is the place I clicked on my map?" They said "yeah, but why come back here if you already ascended?" Do people actually LIE about being ascended? *lol* Finally someone steered me in the right direction.
