Well, it finally happened. I fell for the oldest scam in the book...
After scoring 2 Black Dye in pre, I decided to sell them to finally get that 15k armor (yeah, I know, I'm slow)
So I find a buyer (who, in retrospect, his being Level 5 in Droknar should have tipped me off) who offers 16 plat for both.
So, I open the trade, the 16 Plat is sitting there, I place the Dye, hit "accept" and... realize too late he switched to 16 Gold. (I mean, he did it right as I clicked. My fault for getting over excited and accepting too early).
So, I confront him about it, and he basically says it's my fault for falling for the scam, and then has the nerve to go about and still try to sell stuff!!!
Well, I stand there and call him a scammer until he logs off. I try to add him to my "friends" list (to keep track of his other chars), but he's already deleted his character. Like I said, Level 5.
Not really a funny story, just a warning, getting scammed can happen to any of us!

I can not recall the countless times in PUGs I have observed this single element operating amongst multiple elements forming a party. The gung-ho warrior charging into the heat of battle with no thought but "I gotta swing my uber 1337 H4X0R godly weapon", the AoE Ele nuking the agro Warriors pick up for the caster then thinking "fine, I will simply not participate and allow the rest of party to finish the mission for me." We all die and this same Ele is nuking the Lich and doing absolutely no damage...ridiculous, the monks who bring heal area and Ascalon level skills and then die not knowing noone brough a rez.
How do these folks make it past Ascalon?

Its a vicious cycle. Many of these people have experienced behaiviour like this themselves. They just dont care anymore. I've learnt to forgive such attitude in PvE, I either bring henchies or play my best and quietly tag along unless they do something monumentally stupid.
I hate people who start flaming party members that drop for whatever reason, who are you to call them a noob ? You have no idea why they dropped. It could have been a medical emergency, they could have kicked the power cable by accident etc. Unless I know for certain that somebody left out of spite I cant tolerate this kind of behaiviour.
A general tip if you are sick of jerks in PvE: Do everything with henchies. There are only a few missions that you can only do with human players and those are few and far between. Even farming isnt too hard.

I have a couple....
I have a couple,
My guild was discussing jerk stories, and one of my guild mates said some idiot asked him to make his female ranger dance so he could jerk off. That made me laugh because it was so idiotic.
Another one just happened, too. I was going to hunt Charr in pre-sear. I put out the advertisement, and an ele responds. He is an E/Mo, and uses MELEE WEAPONS. I think ''oh well, maybe he knows what he is doing''. Well, he wants to see my wand (which is crappy, since I am in pre), and he is like ''that sucks''. He then shows me his hammer he got from a quest, and he is like ''Now tell me I'm not smart'' (He is an E/Mo btw =/). When we reach the first group of charr, I proceed to cast my enchantments and prepare to aggro and cast my spells. He just stands behind me and says ''ur gonna die''. Well, I DID die, while he was just standing there with his little hammer. Then he is like ''u don't know how to kill them im experienced''. He then tells me to lure them to a wall so he can trap them. Well, I tried to lure, and I lost the aggro fairly quickly. Then he said he would do it, and he aggroed too many and caused us both to die. I said ''Nicely done'' sarcastically, then he said ''well u suck'' and he leaves =/. Oh, and the only skill I ever saw him use was Orison of healing. I then explain that elementalists aren't meant for melee (especially E/Mo's), and that you shouldn't use melee weapons. He then spams ''thats because wands suck penises". A little bit later he is like ''i would own u one on one'', and all that bullshit. Idiot.
This one was my somewhat my fault, but one time I was doing the Fort Ranik mission, and we had just gotten to the big Charr mob. We had a pretty strong warrior on our team, and two of my party took out the whole mob by hand (I failed to notice it, since I am programmed to collect the parts) Well, I went down to get my drops, and some idiot ranger in our group decides it would be a hoot to turn the catapult on US. Well, I immediately died along with another guy, and then he was *kind* enough to rez me so I could pick up the items, and then he runs back up and does it again. Well, the warrior and the idiot ranger ended up finishing the mission after running around and whatnot. I hate assholes that ruin the party and think it's actually humorous (but don't we all?)

What would be an idea is to have a player 'rating' statistic, expressing to what extent players are cooperative players, perhaps determined by a lot of factors, one of which would be the number of times the player has left a party with other players if not the leader (the leader leaving first allowing the rest of the party to leave without affecting this score). Other factors could be included as well, and might be changed by Anet from time to time (the exact factors determining this should be kept secret by Anet). A new emote could be added to the game: /rating, showing a little glowing circle above the head of a player with a very high rating (a goody-goody character that rarely leaves a party etc.) and two little glowing horns growing if the rating is very low. Maybe they could make it so that if a player leaves due to an error, they will not incur a negative score here (but keep the exact mechanics for that hidden). Leaving a party ociasionally should not have much effect, but leaving consistently should. And other factors could be included as well, though I cannot think of any atm (maybe banned temporarily for bad behaviour or character names should net you a big negative score).
Just a thought.

Roza, good idea. Perhaps the rating could be dependent upon a vote. The voting is allowed only twice for a person and then no further votes can be cast ever again to avoid abuse. That vote only changes the players rating.
This way one is required to examine the player as a whole before mkaing a decision. Also, if a player is rated poor but desmonstrates otherwise, they can be permanently rated good avoiding further abuse.
Of course the rating is only one aspect and if it turns out a good rated player is a real jerk, then no matter they will still be unwanted in parties. One could even be allowed to recind a vote and then no further voting changes or casts can be allowed.
Perhaps this rating is visible to Anet to determine which players are the trouble makers.

It's always worth-while screenshoting that kind kind of stuff and contact the GW team about it. Lodge a "question" about rules violations through the website and report them, stating name, place, time and date. They take such incidents seriously.

Speaking about annoying people, there is this one guy who keeps sacrificing to death in every random match. I was fortunate enough to have him on my team TWICE.
My team was like WTF but since I was bored that day, I took a screenshot of what he said (he said A.net doesn't care) and sent an email to A.Net.
He and I argued for a while and then I just ignored him.
He doesn't think A.Net would care and quite frankly, I don't think A.Net does care. I sent them an email about this with screenshots and I have not received any reply yet. Oh well... I tried.
I figure if A.Net can punish those annoying people, it might at least scare them a bit and words will spread out that if you get caught annoying people and ruining the game for others, you will be punished.
Sacrificing to death is just the same as Swearing in the game. It REALLY annoys people.

So that I and others do not fall for this scam, can someone explain how it possibly can happen? I mean, isn't the trade procedure such that I submit what I want to trade, and my trading partner does also. Then we both have to accept. And if one of the parties modifies the trade, then we both have to accept again. Isn't that the case? So how can it be that this scammer switched 16 plat to 16 gold? Is there a bug in the trade scripts?
Please, someone explain how this could have happened, so that we all can watch out for it!

Personally my JerkAlert goes off every time I see someone type "noob" in the game chat. What are they, professional GW gamers with doctorates in Tyrian Culture? If someone is less skilled than you, you help them, don't ruin their day by calling them names. I'm going to start booting people from groups who display superior attitudes toward other players. They ruin the fun, so RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO em.

YO WILLY!!!
never seen u post here before
anyway...
im SF farming, and we have me (monk), a tank, a minion master, a nuker and an air ele.
i told the air ele, that if he is already air, and doesn't want to quit, that he should at least bring blinding flash...
halfway through grenth's, i ask him to blind the dwarf carvers. he sais he has no way to do that.
i ask him why he didn't bring blinding flash when i asked him to, and he said something like: "STFU u moron! i didnt ask you to bring heal spells! STFU"...
needless to say i left after a few minutes of never-ending babble, followed by me ignoring him, since he was whispering me too...
ah... that felt good.

I had something similar yesterday and today.
We were forming a 5 man Orozar squad. There was me (MM) 2 monks and a tank. We decided to get a Spiteful Necro for the fifth slot. We added someone whose initials are "DC".
I first confirmed if he was running Spiteful.
DC: "of course"
ME: "what's your build?"
DC: "SPITEFUL"
ME: "Would you consider adding Rend or Spinal Shivers?"
(I asked because both are curses anyway)
DC: "No"
DC: "my build is my build, and that's that"
ME: "well, do you have any interrupts or enchant removal?"
DC: "STFU! Fusk this shit. noobs"
and he left. The whole group said Wow, what a bad attitude!!!
Then today I joined a PUG with him there already. I said nothing. AFTER we started, he bailed, calling us noobs!

Last night, I was trying to get my monk through the Ring of Fire mission.
There was another monk in the group, so I'm thinking that we're all good on the healing. WRONG.
After watching him charge twice into agros (the first 2 agros, btw) and dying faster than I could put a heal on him (invinvi build?), he leaves. So do 3 other members of the group, including both warriors.
Well, this is the end, I think. 4 members of the party and no warriors - the run is over. So I map back and start looking for another group. Suddenly, there's the party leader, and starts ranting about "whiners and quitters" - and seeing my name LFG, says "...and <my character's name> is one of them!"
Oh well - as a monk, I don't have problems finding a party
