Cautery Signet VS RC
Cautery Signet {E}
Elite Signet. All party members lose all Conditions. You are set on Fire for 1 second for each Condition removed in this way.
Mo/P or mybe a P/Mo could use this to replace Restore conditions.
If your a Mo/P you could use Leader's Pride to get energy and mybe a few skills like:
Command
Song of Purification 5 E 2 C 5 R
Chant. For 20 seconds, the next 1...3 skills used by each ally within earshot remove one Condition from that ally.
Motivation
Ballad of Restoration 10 1 20
Chant. For 10 seconds, the next time each party member within earshot takes damage, that ally gains 30...78 Health.
Hexbreaker Aria 8 A 1
Chant. For 10 seconds, the next time each ally within earshot casts a spell that ally loses 1 Hex.
Song of Concentration 8 A 2 C 5 R
Chant. For 10 seconds, the next skill used by each ally within earshot cannot be interrupted.
Leader's Pride 5 E 12 R
Skill. For each nearby ally, you gain 2 Energy (maximum 8...11 Energy).
So what do you think is better a Classic Mo/Me RC monk or a New Mo/P CS monk (or P/Mo CS paragon)?

I think these new skills will add alot of new dynamics to the backline support builds. That elite sig has alot of potential, and a co-ordinated group could make good use of a build like that.
What was the recharge on CS?

What about Cautery Signet{E} + plague touch?
If you face a condition spamming team (or just PVE :P) you'll get enough conditions on your team for at least 8+ seconds burning.
Cover it up with an other condition and voila: 8 seconds of 7 degen and a condition free party (at least for some time )

@ exiled mat
CS + plague sending would be better, since paragons are backline/midline ranged characters, and do not stay in front line.

If you could coordinate that with an empademic mesmer on your team (thinking HA builds here), you could really do some damage.

Hmm CS+Plague Sending seems like a good idea.
Lets see here
Barbed 2 conditions+Flame trap 1+Dust trap 1= 4 x 4 people (random guess) = 16 Hmmmm

yeah the bonus effect is kinda trash on extinguish and Cautery means the main effect would be useless. For 15 energy?

ok by my understanding (which isnt much) would 2 sigs work? if the team is loaded with conditions and you feared the 20 sec burn, im sure theres a Me skill that makes sigs recharge instantly...SO u remove 20 conditions then use the sig and remove 1 (the burning) and burn for 1 second?

keystone is elite aswell, but yeah the burning can be removed much easier since it takes all the conditions and makes them all into just burning, which is good for giving to a foe.

you can see how Paragon has the ability to counter dervishes by utilizing their defenses.
That song of concentration will be in many spike builds...

CS won't replace RC
If anything, it'll replace Martyr, but I doubt it will because it has 8 times the cast time and 1.5 times the recharge

Yea, seems funny to compare it with RC. You should comapre it to martyr. And it won't replace martyr. 2 sec cast is basically begging for distracting shot.

Mantra of Insriptions + Cautery signet would be nice. It would be pretty much on par with Martyr recharge time wise.
As for the burning...
Martyr is inferior when you have another monk on your team with condition removal. Cautery signet's burning can be removed with a mend condition while the Condition STACK obtained via marytr has to be Purge-Conditioned (recharge is bad) or youor the other monk will end up using mass energy spamming mend ailment/ mend condition/etc to remove multiple conditions.
Basically Martyr is good if you got another person to purge condition/ restore condition wheras Cautery Signet is better if you cannot afford to use Martyr because the condition stacks are deadly (deep wound + bleed + poison + dazed is bad)...
Cautery signet always gives burning so it throws the uncertainty out the window except for the duration of burning. A simple condition removal or even a Health regen skill like Troll Unguent or *Gasp* Healing Breeze... will easily deal with burning.

You fail to understand the strengths of Martyr. It's a spell, so you can put it on a mesmer to benefit from FC allowing you to pull conditions immediately before a spike. Something you can't do with Cautery Signet.
Condition stacks are absolutely not deadly, especially when you are in total control of them -_-

OP Don't forget that not every monk wants paragon for a secondary. I assume this skill is simply to add variety to what available.

Im sure it may be used in some builds but, as being a Monk there isnt a real substitute for Channeling and Inspired Hex etc.. which are needed for energy management, also you got to remember RC is also used to get rid of conditions that have no effect on that character class eg Weakness on a monk but its effective because of the ehaling it gives not just the condition removal.
