It's not like there aren't, I don't know, 19 art sets for each core class - and there's still 13 for Assassins and Ritualists.
|
Please, you can't tell the difference between most of them, and all sets for a profession is just a variation of the same set.
For example, monks don't got helmets or hoods...:/
necros only got scars. how lame is that? they could at least have added devils horn, or some kind of satanic head piece.
its all way to similiar...

Factions introduced different face scars so everyone doesn't look the same.
And frankly devil horns would just be corny.

We really need armors with animations, and I mean realistic animations, not cartoony sparks or glowing, but rathers something like a strand of cloth or robe of dervish or plates of warrior/paragon that move in the wind. This would not only improve armor graphics, but also make it actually feel like theres more environmental effect like wind.

I honestly think we should get like 5k armors. Like me who struggles to get 1.5k armor for my guys. I think 5k would be a great goal for average players like me

I honestly dont mean this to sound like im having a go at you.
Making gold is really easy, and it annoys me and confuses me when people say its hard and they cant do it.
Aslong as your in a high end area where the drops are worth around 80-200gold each, then your sorted.
If you run around and fill your inventory in that area and collect gold, then go sell them to the trader, you will make about 1k+ easily in one run.
Do that another 15 times and there you go.
You have your first 15k!
My characters are nearly always skint, and have no gold.
I can spend about a month or more trying to make the 60k + materials I need for my 15k armors, and I only own 3 sets (2 ele and 1 necro).
It just takes time and effort and alot of standing in towns shouting "buy my stuff for the love of god"

This is already present in the game.... if you have a cape. They move in the wind in certain area's. I agree it's quite a cool effect and I wouldn't mind it on armors as well.

I understand what your are saying it is just that i only get like an hour or so a day to play and i like to have fun with that time not spend it repeating the same old. I would save for 15k for my rit who can farm but i decided that i am going to start saving for 15k for my night fall char (is going to be war). Oh and the angel wings good but not so good i would say alot of people would get them and then they wouldnt be quite as cool.

a 100 and 60k armor would just be the same as FoW armor,
but they could make the crafts a bit cheaper

If u wanna stand out, go around wearing a pumpkin head in town.
If u wanna look rich, go get fow armor and dye it black or something.
Maybe UW armor would be cool though to try to get, similar to FoW but different looks cause the FoW male necro looks like crap.
But we dont really need 30k/100k armors. There are plenty of different types of armor for each prof already and there will be more for the 6 main prof later.

Il be honest iv not read all 8 pages, so sorry if this has already been said.
Noone realised obsidian is only actually 15k a piece? Surely the next step inbetween standard 15k and obs is 15k with mats that, while expensive, are less than ectos?
(p.s. Sardelac Sanitarium surely?)

Can't tell the difference? Uh, how old is your video card?
And I actually kind of like it how each class has their own distinctive selection of armour. It's true they could use a little more variety, but it does make pretty good sense to have it as is. And Monks don't get helmets because wearing a big metal helmet while you've got some linen robes on looks stupid. And I'd rather have a character that looks both good and just like someone else's than one that looks like crappy but is distinctive. But that's just me.
And no, strap-on horns would not look good. Come on. You can do better than that.

well you said in the OP that the problem is that there are many clones out there, and I have to agree to that, there are clones. BUT havent you noticed that there happend to be less and less clones after Factions? when NF comes, the armor diversity is going to be even larger and options for looks wont be an issue.
I think Gaile has said FOW would be the more expensive armor or osmething like that. I personally dont like the looks on FOW armor, but hey, Anet still has many realms to explore besides FOW and UW, instead of adding a 100k armor, Anet should make a UW amor, or new armor sets for the rest of the realms, (if there's going to be more realms someday, I think they will be.)

I think there should be something in-between 1.5/15k and FoW. 15k is something I can buy just by pulling out a moderately-sized chunk of platinum out of storage and FoW is a really long-term project.
A set of 15k will cost you about 70k (with materials), 100 if you add a sup vigor, whereas a set of FoW pushes a million (+/- 100k, because of material prices)
Something that would cost 200-250k for a set would be nice...
