Well it's confirmed they can use stuff customized for you.
Even special bonus weapons . My heroes will likely all end up with the GOTY edition bonus weapons. lol

I think it's interesting how the series has changed.
Prophecies: one of the earliest quests was to find a (human) player to team up with, if only for a few moments to complete a quest.
Factions and apparently Nightfall: earliest quest is to team up with an AI bot.
Nightfall: personal Hero hench(ies) that people will want to take with them instead of other human players.
I don't personally like that direction, as it seems like encouraging less real teamplay and more single player bot-style play. Maybe just making up for dwindling number of players and popularity? Who knows, it just doesn't seem like it encourages co-op play to me.

Good news. Thanks!
How does that storage work? Is it extra storage you can use, or is that your personal storage being "shared" by the hero?

Let me get this straight:
They keep their drops. But I supply their weapons and runes.
I'm docking their pay.
At least I don't have to clothe them.

I find it interesting that your Hero allies can change to any secondary profession on the fly, and access all of the skills you have unlocked on the account. They are as flexible as PVP characters even when used in RP. ><
I made Koss a monk secondary, and it would be really great if I could assign him a role like DPS or healer. Because Koss as a W/Mo seems to think that it's his job to heal me, even though I've got a great self-healing spell, and theres a Monk in the party... Use your axe skills dummy >< I'm gonna have to change his skills around.

Holy crap, that is not good. I thought they'd at least have weapon spaces.
So, let's say I build 2 templates for each hero (perfectly reasonable). That means I need at least 12 equipment slots free (about 4 slots per Hero).
There goes another bag, +2 spaces...

LOL. Did you try giving him mending to cast on himself? I wonder if he would use Purge Conditions correctly?

It's all skills unlocked on your account through pve or pvp.
They don't have their own inventory that would allow them to be used as mules; but the weapons they have equipped don't take up any space in your inventory.

Like henchmen, they take their share of gold and loot when defeating enemies. Players can improve a Heroes' weapon, shield, and focus item as that NPC gains levels;
|
Note that while the heros take a share of the loot, you have to use your loot in order to equip them.

After the AOE-flee update, I started to have a theory that ANET has only actually programed one AI for all NPCs and that AI is designed to adapt to whatever is on the NPCs skillbar. It would be the only way for heros to work.

Imagine a sterotypical wammo player. Now imgaine him, with no experiance ever playing a monk, setting up the skillbar for his monk hench. Now condiser that it only uses the skills hes unlocked. Now consider that if it choses to not use the skills they way he wants, he can easily overide it.
As I have never really played a warrior in PvE or PvP, I have no clue about what builds to give them so I went and looked some up and chose a hammer build (as it would be cheaper to equip) for koss to use. I will do the same with other classes I have little experiance in, but I have a feeling that most GW players will just try and create a build and wounder why its not working right.
Now that you have considered all that, are you still willing to party with a random PUG if hes bringing his heroes along unless these are FOTM build heroes ?
