Default This game is AMAZING!

OMG, after Factions that was a good but not even close to prophecies,... :P
THIS ONE ROCKS!
everything is just perfect, map looks HUGE! heros are really cool, new professions are fun, cool enemies, missions have bonus, leveling isnt as fast as factions, etc
i think anet proved that they are still one of the bests! good job

It's more enjoyable to slowly gain levels through a variety of level-specific quests and missions that to meteorically rise to level 20 and... just have highend content for the rest of the game.

So tell me, you enjoy having only 2-3 areas at the end that your character can play that is actually fun and not soloable blind?

Well considering I made it to level 17, and we aren't even allowed to leave the "beginner isle". I'd say that doesn't leave only 2-3 areas of high level content. However the process does take longer than factions to level. I played for 15-16 hours since the preview start and I'm only level 17. In factions that'd be nearly enough time to get 2 chars to lvl 20.

Sure, I greatly enjoyed the Desert, Shiverpeaks, and Fire islands in Prophecies. Not counting Planar dungeons.

I think they should get rid of the leveling crap altogether. Just start at lvl20, with 200 attribute points.

Low level content is extremely boring...

wow, poor noobs. if you dont feel like playing low level areas, dont make a new char. bring yours to kaineng (or whatever it will be for nightfall), and start from there, simple as that.

no, fast leveling is utter crap. sure it might be boring to be in low level areas a bit longer, but it really takes the fun of reaching level 20.

id love a bigger "newb" area where it takes longer to level up, although i wont make a new char anyways and just get my monk through it.

I actually prefer the faster levelling I think. When I played Factions I forgot how it really sucks to be low level. Still, I aggre that Nightfall is amazing.

agree. I usually make builds for a char before I even make it, I hate all the hassle with not enough health/energy, doing those long 15 attr quests. I wish there was an option when creating a new char, start at lvl 1 in shing jae, or a lvl 20 with max armor, all attr and such in kaineng.

Which would lead to all new players have lvl 20 chars with the best armor and weapons without doing anything for it, and you'll start complaining there are even more noobs in the missions... That's the worst idea I've ever heard, if you can't stand leveling don't play games like this.

"Level too fast"
"Level too slow"
"Levels? Get rid of em"
"OMG I worked so hard for all my chars now people can automatically be level 20?" *ragequit*

Just play the game already and live with the fact that Anet can't please every single one of you out there.

The leveling won't be slow if you know what you're doing. There are the Sunspear Scouts near the Rez Shrines that give you the double XP and promp points enchantment. Plus you can get those Scrolls that double your XP.

Starting a game with a high level character isn't all its cracked up to me. I was just at Divinity Coast when I got Factions. The high level enemies staggered me and I decided to do more Prophesies quests to build up my GW experience. That and I started a new Character in Factions.

And you call leveling roleplaying!? Where did people get the notion that stats and levels = roleplaying? Whether there are levels or not, GW doesn't really have a roleplaying friendly environment.

On topic, some people actually like the feeling of progress and those people are the targets for the PvE portion of the game. So, slower leveling isn't a really bad descision for anet.

agreed. the lvling serves a purpose. its a way for new players to learn how to use the controls, effectively use skills, deal with mobs, etc. Im kinda torn in between the fast lvling and slow lvling myself. Both obviously have their advantages. Actually made a new Tyrian char the other day because i like doing the skillquests and the satisfaction you get when you complete something thats actually hard for your lvl. But then again i made a Canthan char the next day and got it to lvl 20 and HZH in 16 hours.

anyway...as someone before me said: If you dont like slow lvling, bring your lvl 20's and do it with them. Or go Play WoW for Comparison:P

Levelling the character is something that needs to be done to have a role playing character. Role playing characters can take multiple armour sets into PvP battles, they can take lots of weapons too for the highest agility. Both of these give the advantage to adapt to different builds you are playing against. They also allow you to change armours to suit death penalty.

Having these advantages and many others are what you get for spending the time growing you character by levelling him/her up. PvP characters can't adapt to different builds half as well.

Steering back onto the OP's topic. Elona is by far the most interesting I've seen so far. I loved Tyria and I play it all the time (I only have Prophicies on my account). I've played in Cantha round my friends house a fair few times and I didn't think it was as good RP wise as Tyria. Now, after playing this event to level 5, I think it is absolutely brilliant. Even though my Elonian Ranger is only level 5, I've seen enough to have the drive to buy Factions and Nightfall the second it comes out.

Hmm, lvl 20 after you create character.....wouldn't be much different from PvP. Basically like going through a huge Isle of Nameless with PvP character.

I think Anet has it about right..it gives the new player time to get to know the game, and can lvl up fast enough for it not to be a grind. I can remember previous mmporg's that took 12 months of grinding to get to lvl 100 with a 'God like' char..GW get you there quickly and after that you have to rely on your gaming skill..much better imho..
