Anyone know where i can get a Pre-Order from an Australian store, or somewhere i dont have to pay $30US just to get it sent here ie EBgames and Gamestop...

So is it true you can only get one of those items w/ the bonus pack? sorry, but i dont know how they did it w/ Factions. If so, how do u actually make the choice?

that is a mistake on their part.

just as Anet has no control over how the store sells the item the store has no way to change what Anet has coded into the game.

you get both no matter what gamestop/eb says

Too bad ANET/NCSoft did not plan a 'pack' like they did with Factions, where there was everything except that bonus slot. That way, people that want the special weapons but don't want the slot wouldn't have to pay the $5 extra. Choices, please.

Also note that this is a marketing tool to sell more NightFall copies. People assume they are getting a great deal on a character slot (they are when compared to the online store), but ANET/NCSoft is pretty much assured a sale of the retail NightFall game, because the bonus slot cannot be activated without a retail NF key (which will probably make up for selling the bonus slot for $5). If you: want the pre-release weapons, AND don't need the bonus slot, then tough luck.

I just called up my local EBgames (Robina on the Gold Coast) and asked 'em if they were getting it in, the guy told me they were, Gaile herself has mentioned that we'll be getting them this time, so just call up your local EB.

im gonna get of game.net as they'll send quick or ill get off amazon as i get free delivery in the u.k buy online it can be cheaper im sure thers a online store based in aus which u cna order pre-release there

I think the extra was probablly sales tax. Tax where I am is 5% which would make it $52.49 but whatever state he's in might have higher sales tax.

8.25% here, and it's around their estimated price. Definitely just a variable sales tax.

Very few games release promotional pre-order bonuses, and usually it's for a new franchise, stand-alone, or a sales booster on a somewhat shaky but established franchise.

So, while I'm a bit dismayed that the only difference between old pre-order packages, and this pre-release, is the character slot, I'm not going to take it for granted. Anet doesn't have to give anything at all, let alone a choice.

A choice that I'm hoping to get my hands on anyway.

I was looking forward to see what they nerfed. Guess I'll just have to wait until I can use my Soulbreaker. <3

Yes, it will be raised to 100, and there will be new Epic Quests.

The new Races are Blood Elves and....

Great when you've just started, but if you intend to do serious business, you'll want a collectors item and some mods, or a green/gold if you've got the gold.

The Faction did not include an extra slot, it wasn't supossed to.

I'm not sure what your gripe is. If you want just new PvP content there will be just PvP packs available at the online store.

The price is to encourage retailers to carry this one, many did not carry the factions.

Are they gonna do an exclusive special event for getting the bonus cd? When they had the factions one, you could've logged played in the factions campaign a day(?) earlier and so and such, will it be the same for this?
