Shout Out!
This is the Shout Out thread for the recent GuildWarsGuru.com contest sponsored by Razerzone.com. The community was able to nominate and send in their entries for someone they would like to thank or acknowledge and have them win the prize! The winner was chosen at random but I'd like to list out some of the great entries we received and please feel free to leave your own Shout Out to acknowledge or thank someone in the community.
This won't be a discussion thread so any general comments will be deleted. I'd like to see this thread intended to give thanks and recognition to those great players in the community you'd like to acknowledge! So please post.
Read the winning entry that was chosen at random below:
"I would like to nominate my sister for this contest. My sister knows how much I love to play video games. Even though she plays games too, we never really had the same interest in games. I'd make fun of her interest in games, and she just smiles and shrugs it off. I actually made fun of her playing Guild Wars. This was before I even tried playing the game. I played Xbox (Halo), or other PC games that I would try to talk to her about, but I can tell it really just wasn't her taste in games by the expressions I see when I talk to her about it. Every time I come over her place, I would look at the GW box and her newest GW game Factions. I think maybe I was interested at the time when looking at the graphics and creatures in the game that later got her to buy me my own copy of GW...
Thanks to her, I'm now very hooked on Guild Wars. I could never play any other game now; it’s the most intriguing game ever. I even went out and bought my own copy of Factions and will be getting Nightfall. Since she had gotten me the game, she has helped me advance in the game so much. I had and still have loads of questions about what I could do with runes, dyes, skills, just everything... and she was there by my side assisting me in person and in the game. She handed me free money & items, helped me get through missions and quests even though I know how boring it must have been to go through beginner stuff again. She even deleted a character of hers to make a new one to help me in pre-searing. She helps me everyday and still does till this day. She also stayed up late at night when I know she was tired to help me get through tough areas I needed help in. She gave me all the things I needed including money to get my armor when I'm too impatient enough to sell to earn the money myself. When I'm excited I get pretty impatient. She does get tough with me and just doesn't give give give, she makes sure I know how to manage on my own and earn my way through the game. In times I need help, she takes my items I have a hard time selling, and somehow she can sell it and hands me the money. I don’t know how she does these things, but she gets it done. I always try and pay her back but she insists that it's ok and to keep it. When I make friends in the game, she helps them out too when they need help. She just gives her all to assist me and others and she never asks for anything. I want to pay her back but she always declines my effort in trying to give to her, she takes some things I offer because she knows it's what will make me feel better as a person. This is why I'd like to nominate her for this contest, I know there are many other good players out there who deserve to win this contest as much as her. I just hope that my entry will win; she is definitely among the many other entries that deserve it."

I would like to nominate Dralspire.
He is extremely active within the community and always has the time to answer any idiotic questions from people such as myself and others who are not affiliated with his guild or alliance. He is the rallying point for GWG players on irc chat, and unfailingly polite to those who idle in his channel there or just drop in for a quick question.

I nominate my (former) guild leader and nearly life-long real friend "Big and Black." He introduced me to guild wars and invited me to his already established guild "Tsunami Tswimmers" when I was still getting oriented to the game. He took me under his wing, tolerated my "noobishness," taught me many builds that I still use today and helped raise my rank to 4. He even gave me all of his ectoplasms so I could get fissure armor. Recently, he has stopped playing as much, so made me the guild leader of Tsunami Tswimmers.

I would like to nominate my Guild leader, Abyssal Hunter for being a great friend and helper for all of us in the guild. When my wife and I (Both of us active in the GW community) had our first baby, he and the rest of the guild gave us GW baby shower gifts kindof as a joke, but he is a real friend, and I never would have met him without Guild Wars.

Id like to nominate "Mordakai" from the guru forums. Simply because the individual has a great tendancy to mediate disputes, and has a wealth of knowledge on things in-game and with real-life.

I nominate my friend for the winner because he is always generous while playing guild wars. Countless times he has given me generous offererings for armor i needed to buy or if i wanted to buy a weapon or a rune. While playing guild wars he is always in a good mood,he always comes to see what new exciting weapon i just found, even though he might think it stinks.

I would like this person to win because he has helped me on Guild Wars through thick and thin. He has helped me with missions, quests, GvG's and even with starting my own guild. He has made my dreams on Guild Wars aswell as crush them with his superior Guild Wars knowledge and power. He is the ultimate in Guild Wars players in my mind. Thank you!

I saw this and figured I'd nominate a guy I know. He got me started with Guild Wars (been addicted ever since). He showed and expalined TONS of things to me. He's also helped lots of other people besides me. He's just a great person to know and I saw this contest and thought it would be a nice "Thank You" for all he's done for me and many others.

I think that Havoc Bloodsworn (in game name) should win this prize for his amazing patience, his awesome help (be it at missions, quests or impossibly long runs) and his total determination. There is almost nothing he won't give his best to do for our small guild, and he never asks for anything in return. He is happy to stop whatever he may be doing to come and help a guildie, and is always quick to answer questions from anybody at all. He has been known to give his final few gold pieces to help a fellow guildmember buy that last elusive rune for their armour, and has never once whined about getting it back. He has put so much hard work into helping out that he completely deserves to gain something back from this.

I would like for Cassius Valdron my guild member to win he is always there helping in any way he can anyone who needs it. From helping with missions ,running,PCing items to giving items or plat to those who need it. He has done many times while in the middle of his own quests or missions popped out to come help anyone who needed it. For this reason i would really like to see him win. A sort of a payback for all his good deeds.

I would like to nominate a guildmate and friend for your current contest. He goes by the names "Strato Kastor".
If there has ever been a "go-to" guy for help with missions, quests, or just finding your way to a new location, Strat's the man. Not only is he helpful above and beyond with his guildmates and allies, he frequently helps PUG's get through tough missions, such as THK, or the Fire Island chain, just for the pleasure of helping, and the simple joy of playing the game. If anyone deserves to win this contest, it's Strat. He has been nothing but a positive influence on our guild and our allies; he has brought so much fun and laughter to us who play with him, and I have never met anyone who is so honest, helpful, patient, and kind, even to the most frustrating "noobs." He's the ultimate Boy Scout of Guild Wars, and, in my opinion, he has earned this prize a thousand-fold.

I'd like to nominate one of my guildies for this. In his various guises as Strato Castorius he is always extremely helpful, always willing to chat, and makes sure that new players (both to the guild and guildwars) are having a good time. While not our guild leader -- except for a short time for some administrative issues -- he is definitely one of the lynchpins of the guild.

I want Berry to win this as my thank you gift. She's...hard to explain. Well, she's not, but doing so would take time. So I'll give you the simplified version. She's very helpfull to everyone in our guild, and feels a strong sense of duty to us. She'll come to the mission, bringing whatever it is the group needs. Not what the guildies want, or what she wants to play, but the group as a whole. Even if it consists of strangers. But that's not all she does. She'll listen to my wacked out ideas for Heroes Ascent and GvG and offer ideas of her own. Sometimes, she goes in one direction, while I'm going in another, and we always wind up intersecting later on and combining ideas. She also gives a lot... A LOT. She's basically bought my rune set and armor for my warrior. Then she paid for the 15k set... Well, two pieces is all I would allow her to buy. And then because she knows how I operate, she took the gold when I offered to repay her (After an hour long arguement over vent.) She's always making the guild more cheerfull.

Hi, I would like to nominate Ghull Ka for this contest. I have known Ghull since we were in Obsidian Sky guild together. Back when the game originally came out. We have always played well together and Ghull has been known as our Guild Wars Encyclopidia. He has a mass amount of knowledge and is always able to answer the questions of other guildies, alliance members, friends and anyone with a question. For instance...I had a bow back before bows were catagorized(first few months of play), he would take the bow out of town, and be able to figure out what bow it was by the arc, range, etc. He is always willing to help, and when he decided we should merge with another guild before factions came out. Even though he was enjoying the guild, some of us were being treated very poorly, he stuck with us and we all left together as a guild unit. He is courtious, friendly, and just an all around "great guy" I respect him and have known him as a friend for many months now. He always brings a smile to my face when I see our leaders name come up in the guild channel. He created a great guild, and although we are not a guild of quantity, we definately are a guild of quality. Grenths Helpdesk (GHD) is a place I want to be, as long as Ghull Ka is there, I am. He is known to many on Guild Wars and in the guild wars forums although, I think his name there is "ccrazool". He is always willing to help out and can do just about anything in Guild Wars. If he has an idea about a new build, or a new team build, we jump at the oppertunity to try it. A few weeks ago he got this idea to try an IWAY team in Underworld. We all had a blast it was fun, funny, and amazing! He can come up with some great ideas! It has been a pleasure and a privilage to play Guild Wars with Ghull Ka.

He is the leader of my guild and I have to say that he's a great person as well as a great Guild Wars player. He is always ready to help out a member of the guild. He'll give you that extra bit of gold you need to buy your armor, he'll help you out on any mission and he'll even find time to check out your build and give you detailed advice. Syl is the kind of guy that would give you his last piece of gold, his first black dye and help you complete that bonus in your mission even if it takes 20 minutes. He's also a great PvP player, always a good sport and he's always giving good advice. Even if the other team is madmouthing and insulting people, Syl always says "gg and good luck on the ladder!". Personally, Syl has given me so many weapons that are perfect for my characters and he's helped me to become a better player.

The person I nominate to win the Razer prize Bundle is my Brother-In-Law. He has helped me since I bought the game. Be it Helping me with the Northern Wall Mission or Giving me my First Max damage weapon(FDS). Now i owe all of my success. He Tought me the Value of a good skillbar, and why mending is crap. He helped me with farming builds and loaning me some plat for some armor or some weapons. Without him I wouldnt have learned to GvG at all and thats mainly what i do now.
He tought me tactics, how to call targets, spikes, and what the Flag/Thief/VoD/Siege did. Now after taking his advice i am now a decent PvP player with good experience going for Top100 on the ladder. I know for sure if i didnt have a Brother who played the game i would still be stuck in presearing.

I would like to Nominate my friend Smugg for your contest. He is always very helpful with anyone who needs it and helps out posting helpful hints for the guild. He has assited me personally numerous time when I have needed it with the completion of missions as well as with weapons, armor, money, etc. He is a team player and always there for the events and elite missions to assist when ever someone asks for a partner and assistance. He is friendly and helpful to those in need and would be a great person to choose for your contest.

I would like to nominate Admiral Jordan for the prize. He is the leader of the guild I'm in and he's a very fun person to play with. He has helped me in Cantha and in Tyria. He helps evryone who askes for help and he invented the Rock, Paper, Scissors gambling game. (Where you bet your gold on a match of rock paper scissors) No one deserves the prize more than Jordan.

I would like my friend to win because, he always helps me out in guild wars when i need it. He lends me any materials I need. He helps me with UnderWorld, he helps me with get the titles i need on my ritualist a lot.
He has helped me farm for this one green shield I wanted really bad, for hours. He doesn't even whine about it. He just helps. He even helps me out when i get mad at him when he makes a mistake. He doesn't give up after I say something rude about the mistake. He doesn't even say anything back even if i do a mistake. That is probably why I want him to win, because he deserves it a lot!!
