I like this!
No more spamming LFG to do quests/mission and no more doing missions with a stupid henchman who casts Fire Storm like crazy

As for the social experience stuff, i find myself not talking much when i'm in a group anyway... and i still have my offline friends so that shouldn't be a problem for me at least.

Don't worry about that, GW will always need real people teams, heroes is just an add-on, or just better henchies. About "social experience", i think will be even better, because you will be in team with 1 person + heroes, so, 2 person doing a mission, mmm, impossible being more "social"

more like BotWars instead of GuildWars ... I dunno, but it does defeat the purpose of being online.

as it is it's already a very lonely game.

No...it just means we finally get AI with a good build.

People will take human players with medicore skill anyday over henchies.

it just means now if you're in that lonely part of the game you can get some AI thats not as thick as s***t to help.

When i did factions at first i rarely found anyone else, so i did all quests with henchies and well...they suck pretty hard and if i could have tweaked their skills, it wouldnt have been such an issue.

no more dumb monk spamming healing touch so they end up in the middle of a fight.

Heroes cannot wear removable armor
(Heroes personal armor scales with their level)

the only reason im going to say No right now is: you have to click on the dialogue box, its not automatic when you finish killing the rocktopus or whatever it is.

As far as bringing Heros to HoH (sorry im old school Ill never call it HA), and GvG go- I dont know if thats really all that cool. GvG? Fine, thatll add some variety and maybe even add some classic rts rpg type feel to it.... but HoH? Man... what are they doing to HoH.

I want it back the way is was in the long long ago, in the before time. Before the zaishen, when we had to fight off swarms of undead. That was much better- and honestly I really dont play HoH much since they changed it for Factions. I Havent seen this latest update (maps changed, 6v6 perminently) from this weekend, but HoH is a joke these days. Ill give it a try again, but its so annoying that everyone runs the same 4 team builds- its nothing like it used to be. No originality.

Remembering the old adage that begins, "If you can't say something nice...", I don't usually post in this sort of discussion, but I've got to say that I really find the arguments against the new hero system too funny not to comment on.

Let me get this straight... The new hero system is bad, because the average GW player is so disagreeable that nobody will play with them unless forced to, and the game will just be ruined if we're not forced to play with people we can't stand, so any option that lets us avoid them, if we wish, is automatically a bad thing?

Huh...

What servers are you on? When do you play?

I'm on the American servers, and I've rarely had toruble finding people to play with, especially in the evening. Now, finding *good* people to play with is sometimes a problem, but the mission districts seems to have a good population *most* of the time.

And whats to stop me from making Donkoro a 55 monk, and having him run around killing everything while I dance for an hour.

Ok, people complaining because heroes are bots... so are henches. For the People saying now missions in Tyria/Cantha will be way to easy, theres no difference than when you get guildies together to go through a mission.

People who join PUGs will still join them, people that always hench have better options now, people that always use guildies only need 1 now.

All heroes are doing is improving on options that are already present. They solve more problems than they create (and I dont think they create any personally)

Nonono, you've got it all wrong! See, it's entirely possible that you can't stand me - it wouldn't suprise me in the slightest, in fact - but I'm very thick skinned and can almost certainly stand you. So in practice this means that 'you' (representing the dozens of people on this thread and elsewhere who've said "Hurrah! Now I'll never PuG again!") are removed from the PuG pool, making the game that much lonlier overall for 'me'.

Seriously, I'll bring the same analogy back again: single-player Neverwinter Nights, only without the more sophisticated RPG features such as honest-to-God dialogue trees.

Every thread on hero-related topics so far has had multiple players stating they'll stop PuGging entirely. I also think you're underestimating the number of people whose skill level is such that they can't finish the harder missions with henchies but can quite easily do so with heroes. Claiming there'll be no shift at all in how people choose to play, even though the gameplay has effectively been made much easier, is naive.

Have you seen it recently? It's aged very badly. The other three films retain a lot of their original suspense and intelligence, but Aliens just feels like a cheesy eighties action flick. Still an OK movie, but not on par with the others.

Actually it was stated that you would have "more" dialogue options in PC Gamer, which translates to at least some honest to goodness dialogue trees

While I do see your point, if I were in your position, I think I'd still rather play alone than with people who are only playing with me because they have no other choice.

With the new heroes, people who want to play with others can, and those who don't can play the way they want, too. The only thing the more social players are loosing is something they should never really have had in the first place; unhappy companions.

You can't lament my passing too much, though. I was never in the "PuG pool". ^_^

many people PUG because they dont want to hench only
(even tho they could)

I'm one of those people

Henching is like soloing and I'd rather not solo

the only reason I dont PUG is if a group is waiting 10+ minutes for a healer - I would rather do the mission myself with a henchie healer than wait 30minutes in hopes of a monk

I'm sure many of you had assassins and were forced to hench your way thru missions because no one would group with you.

just because PUGs are available doesnt mean
- they want you
- they are ready without an ideal group

in those common situations, its henchie time !

Erm.. this maybe a silly question, but here goes..

You can use these 'Heroes' on NON-Nightfall characters right?

I know Gaile has confirmed that we can take heroes to cantha and tyria but she doesnt say if they can be taken WITH your nightfall or tyrian characters.

Im guessing that you can, but, anyone know for sure?
