I'm sure there are, www.guildwiki.org
search collector
And while I agree that 15% unconditionals are unfair in PVP, I'm not sure it'd be easy to make old weapons like that disappear or be changed to 15^50
Wouldn't it be amusing if someone tried to salvage their unconditional inscription and it made it 15^50?

Maybe it did happen, but since Sup Vigors can be used by every character, it's taken longer for the price to drop? (esp. now with Heroes coming?)
I mean, how many Sup Absorptions do people need?
Just a thought...

I'm sorry but I was really surprised by this. All the while we were carrying on the discussion, you didn't know these existed?

I did, and I was on the side of the group that is in favor of these changes (that we still don't know exactly how they are going to be implemented :? )

(well, and guild npcs but that's only limited to guild hall, so its just as bad)
What Anet need to is to add more stuff like Foot Aura (diablo 2 style) for 200k, head halo for 300k, Merchant exclusive plasma sword for 400k, crackling lighting body aura for 500k, collector edition style dances 700k, PvP style emote, etc. etc. MORE DAMMIT! (and NOT invisible stuff like title and minipet.)
Then rich people will be distracted long enough that weapon won't be considered.

Again, for those traders, it all comes down to being annoying little ..... (you can fill in that blank can't you?) who just want something to lord over everyone else. Need proof of that? It's in the above post. "NOT invisible stuff", not just in guild halls, etc. Something I can show off to everyone.
Get it through your head. No one but you cares. ANET is about to change it so the egotistical people who go around lording things all day and spamming chat or groups with their weapon either change cause anyone can make the same thing or leave. These traders like to call everyone else a whiner looking for a free meal, rather than what it really is, being able to realistically obtain weapons they want with skins they want. It's not like they still won't have to go find or buy parts. All your arguments against it are so transparent, and frankly, pathetic. Like I said before, don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

OK, in my defense:
I did look for these items awhile ago on Guildwiki, but must have missed them.
When Clawdius mentioned the sword, I felt like a complete idiot.
Does this change the argument?
Not at all. I already knew 15 over 50 weapons were craftable. That was never really the issue...
BUT, not all mods are currently available in collector's or crafters (as far as I know!) In any case, I think the option to salvage Inscriptions would still be a great complement to the other options of Crafters, Collectors, and Greens.
I also think some skins could remain "un-inscriptable" for Vanity reasons.
I also think that 15% unconditionals should be removed from the game, and replaced with 15 over 50.
So, I'm sure I have some unpopular views!
sumrtym: If Guild Wars didn't support vanity, why do CEs offer unique dances?
Why are 15k armor and FoW armor even available? It's obvious there is a place, perhaps even a need, for Vanity Items in Guild Wars.
My argument is that while Inscriptions will lower the price on some vanity items, there will still be rare items to collect and trade. The fun will still be there.

Guess what? Without these people clamoring for new goodies in PvE you wouldn't see addition of Jade Weapons, Golden Maul, and all the new skin that you people so coveted.
Its called adding new incentives that are strong enough to keep people interested in GW, and a line of text ain't exactly good looking enough. I mean comeon, I can't even see it MYSELF, unless I select myself. If you hate people getting expensive cosmetic options, why not support one of my old idea of giving out FoW armor for free? Gold Sinks is needed? Well all those ideas I put up are perfect gold sinks.
Not everyone that buy expensive stuff are elitists, overgeneralization ftl.

I disagree. All these people (traders) assume people want things because they're rare. I disagree...people want skins cause they like them (the vast majority, just not these guys arguing against the change). I want my character to use an oni blade for a sword cause I like the skin, not to show off to Joe Blow. I wouldn't be caught wielding a crystalline sword cause I think they look like crap, and could care less if you have one.
I think that's the GENERAL attitude of most people that play this game. We buy the armor / weapons we like BECAUSE we like their looks, and done. The minority are the ones who place rarity over looks, who hate how their armor looks dyed black but do it just because black is the most expensive and they want to look rich, etc. I find that thinking pitiful, and I find it even more pitiful that they want to try and keep people from obtaining what they want in the game by fighting this needed change so they can feel "special". These people are no different than the guilds who won the elite missions and refused to ferry anyone in, or wanted to charge them a giant amount to do so but not partner with them inside. Elitism has no place in guild wars. Either like your char and weapons and stop worrying who has what, or move on to WoW.

Counter-argument to this would be why re-invent the wheel if they exist already?

That would be nearly impossible, in my opinion, and it would be a nightmare for ANet to decide which skins are considered "vanity" and which aren't. Either way, they will have upset customers on their hands.

I agree with this. Why do I agree with this? Because I consider this a bug or rather an exploit, which is unfair to most players. People who have these kinds of weapons should have known way beforehand that these wouldn't last forever, like the 20/20 Rockmolder.

Ya, ANET added them JUST FOR YOU TRADERS. What a load of crap. Can your heads get any bigger? No elitism in that comment at all....LOL
"If it wasn't for me and the following rich dudes demanding new items, ANET wouldn't add any, and then the rest of you couldn't buy them from us."
Give me a break. Every time you say something you illustrate why this change is needed. I'm sorry the titles aren't FLASHY enough for you, that you get no sense of achievement unless you can lord it over others. Again, go play a game that caters to the "I have no life" crowd.

Many possibilities, but my pet theory is this:
Anet is going to cut back on Collectors. Think about it: every Chapter has two new professions, with about 8 more reqs that need to have items for. As Guild Wars grows, it's going to be harder and harder to keep track of all the collector's items needed to fullfill the needs of every player.
Of course, Anet could just want to screw over the farmers and traders, too. (do people really think that?)

Well, I specifically was thinking of crystallines. It's not likely Anet would do this, but I'm not opposed to it.

How likely do you think this will actually happen? I actually like Clawdius's idea, that 15% unconditionals would change when you tried to "salvage" them.

I was going to argue with you, but apparently we are both right:

You can form the possessive case of a singular noun that ends in "s" by adding an apostrophe alone or by adding an apostrophe and "s," as in the following examples:

The Rockmolder nerf was appropriate. I think adding inscriptions might be a paving stone for adding a weapon mod trader. Then weapon prices will then more accurately reflect supply & demand and the weapon market will stabilize. Rare skins will be worthwhile regardless of the mods, as long as they are max & low req. This will actually split up pricing. Rather than one piece costing 100k, you'll have 4 pieces (weapon, inscription, prefix & suffix) each fetching their own price.

LOL. So much for "good for the game"....
(I know you'd be upset Death, what was your final bid, 700+ ectos?)
Oh well, "the risk of a changeable market" and all that.

Well, the way I said to go about it would have no affect on you, unless you enjoy salvaging weapons that cost you that much gold.
Nevertheless 15 always mods are no longer in the game, not available to PVPers, and do offer a distinct advantage over anything currently obtainable in the game. It's a valid concern IMO, but not something I'm "up in arms" about or anything.

If they add them, hopefully they'll add them everywhere and make them available for purchase as a guild hall NPC
