I wish the Starter Kits gave a buffer day of NF play
The thing i liked about the factions preorder was that i could play on launch, and go later that day to pick up my retial box and add the key, and for nightfall, i ordered a CE this time, and despite the assurances from Anet, i still wonder if my EB games will screw it up, which is why a day or two of free play for preordering would be wonderful for in case.
but, thats my wishes, although i wonder if its possible to implement now before launch.
To clarify:
1. Dont care about head starts.
2. would like a 1-3 days worth of open to nightfall for getting the preorder/starter kits for those of us that are not buying from the GW store, and insurance if the CEs get delayed, which can happen considoring Eb and others reliability.

I think they decided not to do the 24 hour head start with for Nightfall because a lot of people got annoyed because they tried to get the pre-release, but found it sold out. As well, it meant that they let people buy their way into getting a 24 head-start.

i dont care about the headstart, but that extended to the regular launch day aswell, thats the convinence i would like, they can dtich headstarts, but i wish having this preorder let us have LAUNCH DAY play before we pick our Nightfall keys up.
and not all of us are using online store now..

Hee, hee....even with online stores most of us have to wait for shipping. I think you are better off making an in-store purchase. I can relate to the not having the key available on release though...I'll be staring at the shipper's site going, "Drive faster!"

Since when did the game turn into a race? This game is two notches off being a single player RPG, the only people who could truely benefit from a "head-start" are people who violate the EULA. Sure there will be a few people who will get as far as possible and try to stalk up on materials but they are probably going to rush through so much that they will end up getting there first no matter what.

I just want to take advantage of the launch day instead of waiting hours up to days depending on Eb games reliability...

If you were really that worried about it; you should've just planned to buy it from the ingame store. If you really want the box that bad; waiting is part of the price so don't complain- you made your choice.

If you ARE worried about it just do what I'm going to do. Buy it from the Guild Wars online store at 12:01am on launch day.

Hm... I am one of many that preordered CEs, or bought the game from a real store, its hard to justify spending a extra 50 bucks.
and a few hours may not be worth whining about, but i still dont complelty trust Eb and other distrubuters despite anets assurances, and if it gets delayed at all, or something gets screwed up, a three day or so bonus play for gettign the preorder would be nice for us.
It may be extra, but it would be convinent for many, and be insurance for bad occurances.

I do agree that trusting EB/Gamestop is an act of foolishness. I also highly doubt that despite Anet's assurance to the community that there will infact be some form of shortage. Anet is usually a company that goes above and beyond to support it's players, and I think this lack of an early access is sort of a step away from that. I think the main reason for doing so is to bolster sales in their online store to obtain greater profit margins.
I suppose we'll see.

Yup, I got the CE too so the online store is out of the question. Then again, I guess we should pay the price of not getting online as quickly for buying a more expensive version of the game?

You can't expect to order games online and get them on the day before release, you'll be lucky if you even get it ON the release day.
Only way to be sure is order it instore. Otherwise no reason semi-complaining about EB being unable to provide games ontime as always.

I'll be playing this game for the next 6 months, a day or two wont make that big of a difference.

I assume I'll be watching the clock tick down and promptly log on with my freshly added CE key when it hits zero. Distribution and availabilty have always been perfect where I live, for each and every GW product so far. I have no reason to expect it'll be different this time.

Is it confirmed that Nightfall will be available from the ingame store at launch?

Actually this works well for me. I get home from work normally around 7pm. Server is live at around 5pm. Being a Friday though I am able to clock off work a little earlier and hopefully be home by the time the servers go live.

What makes you so sure that your Nightfall access key will have arrived when you come home?

lol, yeah I've been thinking about that acutally, especially since I have the CE on order, and I'm in Australia, and EB is notorious for stuffing up orders. I'm choosing to be optimistic at this point.

You know, its funny, but the Gamestop near me isn't open at 12:01 am on the 27th or any other day for that matter. Must be nice to have a 24 hour gamestore that gets products delivered early so you can hop right into an event like this
