Personally I think everything will go down in value. I usually religiously farm greens when I am bored and get a drop the first three times most of the time, but that is of course soloing certian areas like jaqui's and stonereaper.

Over the past 3 months I've been trying to get Sskai's Sword with no luck. At the last count I've killed him 378 times and he hasn't dropped it once. I soloed him each and every time yet nada!
Perhaps this triple drop weekend will finally allow me to strip the snakeheaded miscreant of his sword.
By the way, it wasn't all in one sitting. I am aware of the anti-farm code, so this was about 10 times a night all inbetween gathering faction to trade for amber.

Lol if everyone has x3 in the Deep than really your chances are still the same as those greens drop EVERY time he is killed.

I for one am thankful that A-net is doing this becuase there are some greens i would still like to get my hands on. as for the Tyria not being included, it does not really bother me but it again brings up the issue as to wither A-net will continue to encourage its previous campains through plot or events. My suggestion has always been for the new chapters in GW to build of the previous ones.
such as the next installment would be were you would go backto presuade the human kingdoms to raise an army to head north and take revenge on the charr while investigateing the rumor that an Orr fleet may have survive their disaster. new characters could be formed in the new lands while old one would have to complete the end quest (so i can finally get a team to finish the last SF mission and the final titans mission anyways im off topic, i would guess A-net did this to help us get those greens for our heros for NF.

I just REALLY hope that they fix the ecto drop rate, it has become a REALLY rare item for me again

QFT. This is the approach I'm taking. If you go in thinking your going to get rich this weekend, you're likely to be disappointed. I'll start on noob island so I can pick up some easy greens for my heroes when they're still low level and then move to the mainland and try to pick up some stuff for them there.

I'll tell you.
The x3 Drop Weekend is for drop rate, not drop quantity. That means that greens will be three times more likely to drop. That doesn't mean that if a green drops, three copies of it will drop.
Kanaxai will be unaffected by this event because he, like Urgoz, always drops his three green weapons. They will only drop three greens per run, no more, no less..
Hope that clears it up for you.

Well there was a whole thread full of people bitching about the double weekend not being enough (myself included), so they have increased it, a step in the right direction, someone mentioned earlier that 3 times is way too much, but a lot of the bosses out there barely drop greens so 3 times might be a good balance.

I concur. See the post on the GW site below:

This weekend, every Canthan boss monster that you slay will be three times as likely to drop a special, or "green," item. The start of this event will be Noon PDT on Friday and the greens will continue to drop at triple the normal rate through 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday. Good hunting!
|
So, you see, it's NOT three times the drops.

I love going for greens for myself...
I was really anticipating this event for last weekend, but it was a well needed maintenence.
Oddly I got my Ssaki sword the week before, so really there ain;t much for me to go after. Chances are if I get greens I'll be one of those bargain guys and sell really low.
I only sell high or mid range when there's armor I want.
