Hmm...the only thing I read in the Insider was....
Quote:
Guild Wars Nightfall, the third game in the award-winning Guild Wars epic, releases worldwide on October 27th. In addition to the new campaign, players who log on and travel to Lion's Arch or Kamadan (the starting city in Nightfall™) October 27th – 31st may notice signs of the imminent return of a certain well-known but less-than-sane monarch, and a decorative theme befitting the season.
I stopped after that...

This "Insider" was nice to read. Lots of interesting items and info.
Hero Battles! Now this is a way to get the PvE crowd to perhaps go and do some PvP with another guildmate, and Heros.
The example builds aren't probably the best. But they did say that they where created with just skills from early in game.
Maybe plans for Ranger improvements, wanting/suggesting all Heros be given Ranger secondaries for more pets. Or maybe a boost to the MM!?
Not to happy with the salvaging with a better title feature personally, not a title person myself. But on the plus side of it, it's nice to see they are finally making titles worth something other than bragging rights. And tying the skills to titles might be an interesting twist also. You can't have that cookie cutter build unless you are a [insert title here]....just my random thoughts on a quick read.

It gets interesting as the release of NF comes closer. Promised myself not to get my hopes up, but the information of the game that they keep dishing out is making me excited about NF. This might turn out to be a really good chapter. Liking the pve side, giving it more of an rpg feel (I think) and it won't effect pvp, keeping pvp balanced (talking about the pve-only skills).

Orison is an enchantment now?

The thing that got me about the templates was the title "Coming Soon: Templates". I hope this doesn't mean they won't be ready by the Nightfall release.

Wonder if the Cartographers will have a bonus, because thats the title I love obtaining the most. Lucky title = better drops?.... we can only hope

Thumbs up

Thanks so much to Gaile Gray, the whole ArenaNet crew for the 1st issue of the Guild Wars Insider!

Its great to see a Dev team and a Development Studio/producer so dedicated to determining and acting on the players needs and requests in-game and on new releases. Now, if only other studios could follow suit!

Thanks for all your efforts on Nightfall so far, and good luck with its release and into the future!

Cryptic Studios has been pretty good on listening to what the community wants too. They're giving our heroes and villains wings soon.

It's something new. Until NightFall is released there is no chance of salvaging a mod off a weapon and keeping the weapon intact. Now with nightfall, it seems like you can salvage an item off the weapon and have a chance to keep it intact. The higher your wisdom track title the higher the percentage you can accomplish it.

It's looking like Lightbringer is a new title. Probably based on doing good deeds and fighting the forces of evil. Nightfall is looking like it will be a great buy.

Here's to hoping I can get a Darkbringer title.

Is your Guild Wars account linked to a PlayNC Master account? If so you have already set your privacy setting when creating your PlayNC account. In order to receive the newsletter you will need to ensure your PlayNC master account is set to allow NCsoft to send you emails.

If you haven't then you may have fallen through the cracks (a spam filter, simply missed in amongst the hundreds and hundreds of thousands sent out). The easiest way to set your preference is to link your GW account to a PlayNC Master account (you can do this via the online store, which will guide you through creating the PlayNC master if you do not already have one) and set your privacy setting during creation.

Cool! Titles actually serve a purpose now! I'm glad I started picking away at the Wisdom title track a few months ago.

I hope more titles will become account-based, though, especially if they're going to start affecting gameplay. I don't want to have to relog to my Necromancer just so I can ID/salvage every gold item I happen to acquire. But this is small stuff.

Good move ArenaNet.

You mean of course if you connect your GW account with the online store account, (registered for one) it should automatically pick up the PlayNC Master Account? Then yes I’ve done all that and I bet your right, it did fall through the cracks. Most likely got mixed up in my bulk mail, which I get a thousand scam letters from con artists, (I’m a doctor, I’m a witch trust me now and you might get lynched) so in fact I delete those. Anyways I’m getting help from the support team anyways, so I’m really not all that worried yet. I hope I remember my PlayNC Master account, hopefully, thanks anyways Alex (I tip my hat to you, if I had one).

Update: I think I figured it out now; I went to check on my PlayNC Master account to see that the verification for my email address was a no go. So I sent a new one to myself, however the verification code is not coming up in the verification email (everything else does but that). So I think that’s it then, have to wait now for support to get back to me on the issue.
