ZOMG SHINIES!
Gameplay? Storyline? Lore? Balance? Whats that? I WANT MY SHINIES!

ZOMG I WANT MY SHINIES TOO!
Anyways this is not the first time something like this happens and it seems fast becomming a tradition for Anet to nerf the shitz out of the old chapters to make way for/make you buy the new one. The community will find another farming routine soon enough, the only problem is why anyone is willing to share their gold mine to have it nerfed.
Just keep an eye out, and farming isnt dead. You just have to use something else.

FOW armor, my wish, will probably get 10 times as expensive (uw farming... gonna be harder) all the cool titles...
and btw, you totally forget that pve is not pvp, and should never be... pvp is a small amount of ppl, vs a small amount of people... pve is a small amount of people vs huge amounts of monsters...
|
You're playing the wrong game then. GW doesnt have a high level cap or uber weapons or armor to make you be more "special" than anyone else.
And where did I ever say PVP was PVE? I was just telling you that there's other content to do other than just farming over and over again....

soggybottom, the high level cap is 10 million faction donated, 10 thousand minutes drunk, etc.... those are some pretty high level caps. not to mention, kind of a big deal title. The drunk one cost alot of money that is the point of what he is saying.

I was talking about LEVEL caps not titles. Besides, my point was that he wanted a game where he could feel "special" and I told him that he's been playing the wrong game from the start.

Ya i think we get the point......
I wonder why people are so obssessed with having something better than the next guy.
I pick my armors and weapons based on how it looks on MY character. Not because its hard to get, or easy to get. I dont care what everyone else has, i dont care what anyone says. My gratification and satisfaction is seeing MY character wearing the armor that I chose.
This isnt a game problem. This is a self-esteem problem.

yea thats the problem soggybottom, your talking about actual levels and he's talking about titles. he's beaten the game, mainy times, like i, 8 chars both chapters, one character of every primary only thing left for me is titles and my green collection till nightfall (can't wait). so lay off his fun of earning his title. cause once the dedicated fans beat the game a rediculous amount of times whats left but to collect and work on titles?
as a side note, i liked the 55 troll farming becuase it was a way for any one crappy or elite to earn money at a regular rate and not have to worry about the luck of a rare drop.

Please read my previous posts to him and stop coming into a middle of discussion without knowing what's going on. He said he wanted to quit because he cant farm anymore and because he cant feel special. So I tell him there's a whole new chapter out, so how can titles and farming be the only content left for him?
Seriously, Nightfall comes out in a few hours and you farmers are complaining that there's nothing else to do other than to farm? Come on...

All solo farmers here keep saying that nothing has changed for them, only takes more time... What about small teams?
We used to duo UW with my guildie (monk and SS) just because we loved it; it was a good fun, every trip down there was a small challenge -- rounding the enemies, trying to aggro them in a different way every time; the excitement of opening a new chest; a nice bonus if an ecto dropped for any of us. I loved it really, it was a nice clean fun for half an hour; I enjoyed SSing the monsters 'cos I was doing it well.
With the new AI and the enemies breaking aggro, such duoing now is impossible. Yeah, quite likely that new builds and workarounds will be devised eventually; but I really don't appreciate that an innocent entertainment has been taken away from us -- "casual" players who spend 1-2 hours or less per day in the game and want just to PLAY around.

Hi,
Is this where I post about the Monster AI that makes it a point to only engage my warriors? I've been PvEing for about three hours now, and every fight has involved practically all damage being directed at my two tanks. At one point, I accidentally pulled three spawns (I was running around the Jade Sea), but because all aggro was directed at my two tanks, Guardian + Prot Spirit and the occasional Life Barrier was enough to handle all of it.
Not really sure what's up.
Is this what the PvE is supposed to be like now?

Nah, I saw a SoJ flag runner is obs mode the other day..lol.
Anyway..Are we to the point where its becoming hard to enjoy this game without PvP? I mean..if you play through the story a few times..don't want to Pvp..what else is there? Farming for cool stuff was pretty much it. You can only do the same missions so many times imo. I don't think any improvements in AI will make them that much more replayable.
Meh, who knows. Farming is more meh than it was..but since all I need money for were skill caps and weapon/armor sets, I guess I don't need to farm anyway.

You have absolutely now clue, do you? You think that just because you don't enjoy a certain aspect of the game that it should be taken away from everyone else. Talk about a selfish person. People farming took nothing away from anyone else and only added to their own enjoyment of the game. Guild Wars severly lacks in storyline and needs farming to keep the hardcore players going until the next chapter. I've finished prophecies and factions with 8 characters on my main account. I have every skill unlocked and have a PVE toon for each class, each with all of their primary skills. I actively play GvG and HA. RA, TA, and AB don't really interest me because of poorly skilled players and the poorly made structure of them. Is that enough "playing the game" to meet your standards?
So whats the problem with having farming as a side job in the game? Are you jealous that you aren't able to obtain all the precious shinys when others are? Or do you simply detest the fact that someone else might actually be enjoying themselves with something that you so obviously detest?
I'm getting so sick of all the people who use the argument that we should go figure out new ways to farm. Look, I'm all for alternate ways of farming. It adds spice to the game when there are many builds that I can try out. Unfortunately, the nerf has limited the number of ways that we can farm. I used to be able to switch builds and jump all over the continents to farm different areas. It was great because I didn't get bored nearly as quickly. But with the new nerfed AI, it is simply not feasible to farm in the majority of the areas in the game.
I'd like to know how much these fanboys have actually tested out the AI before they came onto these forums waving their Arenanet flags and praising Anet for a poorly made decision. I have actually tried out several of my old farming builds. It really doesn't matter what skill I'm using. Whether it be cyclone axe, SoJ, SS, sliver armor, riposte, glads defense, or barrage, the result is still the same. The newly crapified AI creatures run away when they get hurt. What kind of monsters are these, anyway? Monsters aren't supposed to be smart. That's why they wander around the shiverpeaks all day and chase anything which gets into their vision. Had an improved AI been added to just the humanoid enemies (improved doesn't mean running away like idiots) then I would be more accepting of the idea but trying to make trolls smarter is just dumb. Anet failed even to accomplish this. Running 10 feet away and standing still until they heal isn't smarter. It actually makes them look much less intelligent.

Wow, a few long paragraphs of ranting and yet your anger was misdirected at me for the wrong reasons. Did I ever say that people shouldnt farm? Did I say that farming should be taken away?
And please, feel free to shower me with petty insults of being jealous and all that crap. My point was to all the people saying that they're quitting because they cant farm. The point is that there's more to GW life than farming.
So Winkgood, I suggest you calm down and keep your insults to yourself. It's just a game for crying out loud. No need to blow a gasket over this.

I thought of 2 ways to exploit the AoE scatter!
1. Weaken Knees. A constant KD for using AoE. I like it.
2. Criticals. When an enemy is flessing, it's a guranteed crit. Abuse it.

I think this is exactly the problem. Its not the fact that GW nerfed a lot of the farming - but that the game lacks enough content post end-game to keep hardcore players playing. I don't know if it could really be stated any better - but I think this is the pain that a lot of people feel. We don't mind not being able to farm - but give us something to do otherwise. And I don 't mean charging me $50 - $90 for every new chapter that is, essentially, a bunch of new FedEx quests. (i.e. Run here, kill things, run back, complete quest - rinse and repeat.) This is why I will not buy NF - and I don't know how much I will play GW anymore because there just isn't anything to do anymore.
